This is what we needed, Em and Busta went completely off on this. The slickness with syllables was intense. Em`s elevating his game and staying razor sharp, plus his voice is at a happy medium of intensity, enunciation, and restrained fury-emphasis on restrained. I can`t see what`s not to like, the lyrics were dope and the beat was really good.

Totally agree! If anything, I think Ems lyrical aspect has only increased and got better. Yeah he had his great from 99-04, but he has KILLED it since he first came back with Relapse. His 'hits" though might not be the same or as good to some of you, but if you listen to his lyrics, I honestly sometimes can't fathom how he is able to think of them and be able to make sense to all of it. Relapse is my favorite lyrical album to me.. Out of this world material. Im not trying to be a dick rider or anything, I've been a fan since SSLP came out and I was hooked. He could be any race or ethnicity and I would say he's one of the illest of all time, no questions. I understand if you dont like his hits or dont often listen to him, but you need to at least give mad respect to his lyrics and story. Seriously. I think people complaning about the beat probably just don't understand the details in the timing. It's freakin' brilliant. But not super easy. I realise that. I guess having a background as a jazz musician helps me appreciate it.
The ability to hear a note that is not right on time and perceive it as "hang" because mentally, I'm putting it in the right place automatically, while the mental process of doing this creates a feeling in of itself. It makes it feel human.
The beat makes me use my brain (like music should) instead of just having some quantised beat as a vehicle only to carry me through the rap parts.
But I guess everybody has their own sweet spot for how rythmically advanced a beat should be.

This ENTiRE song reminds me of a jazz composition. Just slightly off-kilter the entire time to an untrained ear, but so tightly controlled and in the pocket that you couldn't fall OUT of sync even if you tried.
