- A day spent on Dartmoor, fishing the upper reaches of the East Dart above Postbridge. I was fishing a traditional northern wet fly called the Broughton Point, casting it upstream into likely looking spots.
The upper reaches of the East Dart belong to the Duchy of Cornwall. Day permits are available through the Fish Pass website and App.
Really enjoyed that Robert, need to pay it visit that’s for sure, new Sub from me 👊
Thanks Robert, what a wonderful setting, lovely trout.
Glad you liked it.
Such delightful water and fishing. :-)
It's a great place to fish.
I really must get up there this season! It is a delightful stretch. Glad to see you managed to get out Robert, we've had an awful lot of days this year where rain has stopped play☹️
I managed to get three days fishing in before the rains arrived. I spent a great day on Cherrybrook through six hours of thunder and lightening, but no rain!
Nice Browns Robert and beautiful setting. Can you provide make/model of your fishing hat? I will don in high desert streams of Pacific Northwest. Thanks.
My flat cap is about yen years old and comes from Barbour.
Hey Robert, got skunked today trying to Fish the Dart south of Postbridge, went to Bellever and then on to Dartmeet. Not a fish to be seen. Could you give me a pointer on a location for tomorrow on where might be fishy! Thanks 👍
Hi Patrick, I'm by no means an expert on the Dartmoor rivers. But i would try the East Dart above Postbridge. The river has some nice small pools and runs which hold some good fish. You will need a short rod to be able to cast under trees and into the pools. Hope this helps.
@@thedalesangler Thanks Robert!
Great setting! A pleasure to watch. Thanks for the video,
What rod are you using?
I was fishing a 8ft split cane rod made for me by Luke Bannister. It is based on a Garrison 206 taper.
