Where did you connect those 2 dc fans on the pwm? Did you connect to the motor terminal or battery terminal directly? And why did you orient the airflow that way? I am seriously asking because there are conflicting opinions about whether to pull or push the heat off the sinks
I bought the same trolling motor yesterday from Bass Pro and have a PWM on the way for my RS117. I haven't decided on a battery yet. Do you know how far you can go at 1/2 speed with the 16AH battery? Tournament trail starts in February and I want to be 100% ready.
That is awesome and good to know, I'm glad to see that you have successfully rigged up a system with this particular battery, 6 of these would only weigh 24# and provide 96 ah of power and only cost $330 which is crazy for Lifepo4 batteries. From what the manual on the motor says, it's max draw is 30 amp/hr on wide open throttle. Without a PWM, half speed amp draw is 14 on setting 3 or 1 hour 7 minutes of run time on a 16 ah battery. The PWM should increase this by a lot at lower settings, but none at all at full throttle. Maybe my math is off, dunno. Can't wait to try this myself. I really want the motor to slowly move down a bank while throwing a spinnerbait or crankbait without tying up my hands with the paddle. I have the hardware to setup pedal steering for that reason. Good luck and thanks for posting this video.
I bought two of the Miady 16ahs and hooked them together in parallel. Just fished an 8 hour tournament and they worked flawlessly. I ran the motor as much as I wanted to. Cruised mostly at 50 to 70 percent on the PWM. I'm still using standard prop.
Wow, this would have been much better without the music. When it was there it was hard to understand what you were saying, and that is where the value is. Thanks
Nice day. Willow Beach AZ was my favorite kayak spot.
Yes it was!
Nice work on that Jon. I think techically, that Alabama rig in AZ can only have a max of 2 hooks...might double check that! cheers.
....3 hooks allowed on A- rig
@@fishing_gimiks_az www.azleg.gov/arsDetail/?title=17 pretty sure 2 hooks is the limit. If you have a reference that is different, pls post!
Nice job, suprised how far you got on the 16ah battery :-)
me too thanks....
nice test how long you can used the trolling motor with the 16 amp battery going half power
thanks
since i only ran it 10 to 15 min. at a time, i was able to finish 4.5 hours of fishing, and ran the battery down to 11.5 volts

...motor terminal on the PWM, so it only turns on when you move the potentiometer
is your pwm still working it looks like they do not last long if not how long did it last
I have upgraded since then....
It’s pronounced pot-ten-she-ohmmeter
Tnx

I ran my lithium 12v 16A for more than 35 min, on and off, and still have 12v charge when i got home....
Do you think getting three of those Miady 16ah and running them parallel would be viable? 48ah for $165 is difficult to beat if it works.
@@Ijtreme83 ...ran mine, crossing the lake back and forth, still have over 12V when i got home...
