- On this epic cycling adventure, I started early in the morning from Exeter, to complete a 90 mile ride with 8000ft of climbing across Dartmoor, using the Creo’s battery with range extender. I travelled the gravel trail to Princetown from Burrator Reservoir which had some stunning views. It was a beautiful sunny day with lots to see.

Very nice ride, and beautiful weather! I'm off the bike for a few weeks with a twisted knee, riding vicariously through your videos.
Hi Michelle, I’m so sorry to hear about your knee injury that’s something I have experienced myself so I have great sympathy for you. Dartmoor is a fantastic place to ride but you have to be prepared for the weather to change quickly and normally for the worst, but it was great that day. Well I hope you rest up and enjoy my backlog of videos. Many thanks for watching and take care. ⚡️🚴🏻♂️👍🏼
Great ride. One of my favourite rides from Plymouth to burrator reservoir and then to Princetown. We called the route from burrator to Princetown, The puffing Billy trail. Head wind in minus 2 was not so much fun 🥶🥶🥶🥶. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Hi Karl, I’ve been there and done that like you, year round in all weathers sometimes it’s just not fun 😂😂. I much prefer riding from Princetown to Burrator. That’s a great trail so I was surprised at how quiet it was, and I didn’t even see another cyclist. Many thanks for watching and happy riding, take care. ⚡️🚴🏻♂️👍🏼
Great video mate.. What a place to ride a bike, stunning scenery.
Hi Andy, Dartmoor is a fantastic national park with so many beautiful places to explore. It’s great for hiking and cycling or climbing etc it’s just brilliant. Those roads are like a rollercoaster and they are so much fun to ride, you just got to hope the sheep don’t take you out on the decents. Many thanks for watching and happy riding ⚡️🚴🏻♂️👍🏼
Really love your videos man. Loved the wildlife in this vid!! Keep up the great work 🥰
Hi Paul, that was a great ride with so much to see and do and that’s why I love cycling. Many thanks for watching buddy and happy riding. 🤜🏼⚡️🚴🏻♂️
Cracking adventure with some stunning views 👍
Hi Paul, I hope you are well buddy. Riding up on Dartmoor is such an amazing experience. Dartmoor can be a hard place to cycle but the views and beauty make it all worth it. Many thanks for watching and happy Riding ⚡️🚴🏻♂️👍🏼
@@electricbikerider i used to mountain bike up on the north York moors and that could be a bit of a slog to get there but, as you say, the rewards made it all worth while. Don’t know if I could do it now, though 😂
Oustanding ride matey. I was there last month with the wife on a short break. She is a Plymouth girl so she knows the moors like the back of her hand.
Hi Russ, that was a really nice ride, and I was very impressed with the battery. I will be doing more vlogs up on Dartmoor in the near future and Plymouth so that might be nice for you and your wife. Thanks for watching and happy riding ⚡️🚴🏻♂️👍🏼
Powering through the moors, with the wildlife and great scenery. Good to watch and you are blessed to have all that within cycling distance.
I'm going to have to hang up my two Defy bikes, as I've broken my right hand. So about 4 to 6 weeks off i think 😅
All i need right now. Nearly finished all your videos... great stuff indeed.
Take care Harve, happy cycling...
Hi Anthony, I so sorry to hear about your broken hand, but it’s important you rest it properly for a speedier recovery. Two months off the bikes is going to be hard for you, but you have always got CZcams and my videos to pass the time. Thanks again for watching and put your feet up and look after yourself. ⚡️🚴🏻♂️👍🏼
No problems, will do. Thanks for your good wishes 😊
Ok, I jumped a bit far into video and maybe missed something, but I must ask, how are you able to conserve so much battery ( at 49 miles and still 100 + ). Are you not using the battery? Great video by the way!
Hi Anthony, on this ride I’m also using my range extender battery so i actually started with 150%. And because i always use the ECO mode setting for my outward journey, it really helps to preserve the battery, and makes for a fun return home with the other two modes. Many thanks for watching and happy riding, take care. ⚡️🚴🏻♂️👍🏼
A great ride! Beautiful scenery up on the moors. All this 100+% battery means you have the extender pack too I presume? It also means you’re not using the battery power much at all! Well done. A lovely ride and something for me to aim for!
Hi Ian, on all my rides I prefer to keep the bike in eco mode and only use the turbo etc for the steepest hills or the homeward the bound journey. My average speed on the flats is about 19mph so above the 16mph restriction the bike is set at. So you can achieve great distances and a good workout if you are able to put the effort in. Many thanks for watching and happy riding ⚡️👍🏼
How did the uk get stuck with a 16 mph restriction?
I know many of the places on your routes because I live just east of Exeter (Whimple), but it's lovely to see them on the screen! This was a beauty and it reminded me to get over to Dartmoor again in the summer (when I've got my Creo!). Keep up the good work - great videos! By the way, how was the Future Shock as you came across the moor? Did it smooth things out? Could you mention it sometime in a video? Thanks!
Hi Robbie, for a cyclist we live in the perfect area, because there are so many different places to ride. And as you live locally it must be nice to know the locations I’m exploring. You must be excited about getting a Creo, it is a fantastic bike that gives you a good workout and a little push up the hills, it’s just brilliant. The future shock is a great feature because it really helps to dampen the road buzz and smooths out the gravel trails. I will definitely demonstrate this feature in a vlog. Many thanks for watching and happy riding ⚡️🚴🏻♂️👍🏼
Does your bike have the SL 1.1 motor. How is it with only 35nm torque? I quite dancy getting one but the low torque worries me when say the canyon e gravel has 85nm.
Hi bro, the Creo is an amazing bike and it makes me smile every time I ride it. The sl 1.1 motor really doesn’t disappoint, as I personally don’t have a problem climbing the steepest hills here in Devon. But I cannot compare it to another road or gravel E-bike as I haven’t ridden any other brands or models. I wish you luck with your decision and many thanks for watching. ⚡️🚴🏻♂️👍🏼
I wish I had beautiful rides like that! Is it humid there?
Hi Buddy, Dartmoor is a fantastic place to visit and cycle, the roads are like riding a rollercoaster. The weather can change so quickly on Dartmoor so you have to be prepared but it’s definitely not humid. What country are you watching from my friend? Many thanks for watching and happy riding. ⚡️🚴🏻♂️👍🏼
Great vlog. What's your strava name?
Hi Vince, this is a link to my Strava www.strava.com/athletes/electricbikerider, thanks for watching ⚡️🚴🏻
Would like to inquire about you and bike a bit.
The bike, mainly the size
As for you, height, weight, and inseam.
Seriously considering the Creo. Being you are over 100%, I gather you have the range extender option.
Thanks.
Hey, I’m riding a small size frame and I’m 5:8inch. I was between frame sizes (small/medium) so I highly recommend downsizing if you’re in the same situation. A smaller frame is much more comfortable and nimble to ride and obviously lighter. The Creo is a fantastic bike and it still puts a smile on my face every time I ride it. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻⚡️🚴🏻
@@electricbikerider I was looking at the Creo page and the size chart and at 183-184 cm puts me in the L to XL size. Thing is I tend to have long inseam for my height at nearly 34 inch which usually has me having the saddle "way up there" (note one fake knee, so limit motion also require high saddle height). I do have a couple other e-bikes for cruising around, but they are not road bikes. Certain days I like to do group rides with road bikers and that is why I'm looking at the Creo. At 70+ with the fake knee, having the help for those hills can be the difference between “doing it” and or another route.
Ya, the Creo isn't cheap, but seems to be one of the better e-road bikes out there. I'm hearing that stem is quite nice and some say a difference maker.
Also, curious as to the exact bag you use for tools, pump etc., as I thought I saw a bag on top bar just ahead of the seat.
I'll have a look through your video to see if you have an accessories video. The buttons for shifting the pedal assist from off, to Eco, etc., seems like something nice to have, so one can keep hands on the bars. Is that a Specialized thing, as I don't see it. Maybe just chat with the bike shop.
Thanks.
@@NOWitsOKto You probably would benefit from visiting a Specialized bike shop to get a feel for the bike and get fitted etc because like you said there not cheap. I have the Creo SL, which is road specific. The Creo 2 is a great bike but it’s Gravel specific which unfortunately doesn’t interest me as I prefer road riding more. Have you looked at the new Scott ADDICT RC eRIDE, it is an awesome road bike and one I would probably purchase if I were to buy one now. This Scott bike was featured in a EBR group ride video a few weeks ago, check it out. And as for the tailfin top tube pack, I have the 0.8ltr and I done a review on that.czcams.com/video/29rrlrk0K5U/video.htmlsi=vVV3hKuz5-BEMOIU i hope that helps. ⚡️🚴🏻
@@electricbikerider Are you saying you like the Scott better than the Creo, or the looks of it? I was under the impression you really liked the Creo.
I believe I watched that video, and fail to see anything special about the Scott other than a nice paint job.
Would like to learn more, as it seems people really like the Creo's Future Shock which even on the cheapest 2024 model is version 3.1.
Thoughts?
Hi, I absolutely love my Creo SL road bike, I wouldn’t change it for the world. The Creo v2 is an amazing bike but it’s just not for me as it’s a gravel bike. It has flared bars for gravel trails a dropper post for steep slopes and the wheel rims are too wide for thinner slick road tyres. If I was in the market for the best gravel bike the Creo v2 would be my choice. I prefer riding the tarmac more than the gravel trails. That why I have two sets of the same wheels, one set up for the road and the second set up for gravel, so I have the best of both worlds. 🚴🏻⚡️
