How to make a Recycled Metal Chicken sculpture. DIY... Now you can make your very own metal chicken out of recycled materials and it only takes 5 minutes. ;-)
Very interesting use of a collander. I've never thought about using one of those. That's one idea I will need to try to weld with my everlast mig welder.
"Stitching" with small welds will put less heat all at once and will let the metal cool in between. If you are really serious you can look into pulse mig like I have with my everlast welder which can do something similar through its settings. Even better might be to go with low amperage TIG welding but that is a totally different process altogether.
You appear to be welding stainless and carbon steel parts together without an regard for the alloy, is that correct? Aren't some of those utensils stainless and the old wrench and nuts carbon steel? Are you changing electrode wire or does it not matter?
I make scrap sculpture for a living... Well almost a living.. Lol. Great fast chicken! Keep up the awesome work! Check out my animated, smoke breathing scrap dragon standing on a fireplace hood and tell me what you think. I just started a couple years ago and am trying to learn new stuff every day in this awesome art! Thanks for taking the time to make the videos!
@@tossedfoundandfearless thanks! If I get time on another one of my "in too much pain to work" days, I might just try to make a more detailed and longer video, it was a great way to occupy the brain cells...all three cells that are still working.. Lol
@@tossedfoundandfearless been over them for awhile myself. I cleaned out my shed and made birds from the shovels I had. Funny and quick. Thought that was that. 4 birds. Now I've got orders for 26 more and it's boring. $27 total in to them and 45 minutes. $165 sales.ppl are nuts!!!
One man's junk is another man's treasure. This is a fun looking project. I will use my powerarc welder and give it a try.

I make some metal art but this chicken is great. You do very good work now buy a grinder.
when you weld that good you don't need a grinder!
Oh crap, nice job. How long did it take you in real time, and did you use only one colander?
we can see 2 bottoms of colanders... so two items ! A big one and a small one

The collender is definitely quicker than spoons and forks
Spoons and forks are easy and everybody does that. ;-)
