I really enjoy your videos especially Muscle Cars. One thing that needs mentioning, The volume was extremely low. I had to to turn the volume for youtube all the way up and my volume on my PC to 100%. Just thought you might want to know. Maybe when you do American Muscle cars you can call the bonnet the hood instead, lol.
I have two of this basic kit. My Mom had a '71 Cutlass 4-door bought new in '71, traded off in '79. I really liked that car, so was thrilled to get the kits of the 442 W-30.
A note: Company name is pronounced "rev-ELL", as opposed to the old family name "REV-ell". No connection between the two.

Looking forward to following this build. You always pay attention to details that puts my 'get this thing done already' attitude to shame. That was a great year for Oldsmobile. If you know of any Olds Toronado models, or even Buick Riviera of the same era, that would be a great build. The Toronado was bad ass in so many ways.

I have avoided this kit before when I saw it cheap, because of the moulded in wipers and also I thought the panel lines looked a bit soft. Maybe I was wrong, you seem to rate it. I do like the subject.
Lets talk about primers color. Why sometime grey or silver, sometime white, sometime pink? What is the purpose for the choice of color? Wouldn't grey or siver would be good for red?
Do you actually see a difference in colour doing 6/7 coats? Most of the time I don’t

Didn’t “give up” just moved back over to iwata. The apex is a great airbrush. The iwata just suit me better now.
Not sure why Revell included an automatic transmission with this kit as the name 4-4-2, pronounced " four - four - two ", is originally a code for the equipment package, that consisted of a " four " barrel carb, a " four " speed transmission ( aka a " four on the floor " ), and " two " exhaust pipes ( aka " true dual " exhaust ). Granted, that's just the " purest " in me talking, and it's perfectly cool to build your car ( rather 1/25 or 1/1 ) the way you want. It's your car, after all. I just wanted to post this for anyone wanting to build a " factory correct " replica of the 4-4-2. Your version of the car is looking good so far. Very interested in seeing the final reveal!
442's came with automatic transmissions as well as manuals in 1971. Why wouldn't you be able to choose?
@@thehazmatguy480 The Oldsmobile Cutlass W-30 ( non 4-4-2 ) came with the choice of auto or manual. If the 1/1 has a factory automatic, then it is not a " genuine " 4-4-2 car.
64 was the first and only year that all 442's were 4spd manuals......I'm no expert just a quick research.
@@edwardhood6252 442 w30 in 1971 was offered as an automatic as well as manual. 563 came with hurst his and hers shifters, option OW. That search took me like, ten seconds.
