- Colin Firth, Tom Hooper on the sense of duty and courage that helped Prince Albert become a true king, on his private struggle in front of so many people, on how he struggled to go on, on Queen Mother's reaction ('Please not in my lifetime'), on the brilliant script by David Seidler (who used to have a stammer himself and felt encouraged by the king's success).
The King's Speech (2011)/Colin Firth, Geoffrey Rush, Helena Bonham-Carter, Guy Pearce
Colin Firth is an excellent actor who always continues to step outside the comfort roles to improve his craft. He is also a wonderful human being.
The moment when he sings out the admission that his nanny pinched him and didn’t feed him breaks my heart. Such a raw performance.
I love Colin's voice.
I truly got emotional in seeing Colin Firth's performance when he looked vulnerable and worried about his speech. I truly felt when I saw this movie in the theatre I knew his performance would win the Oscar! A wonderful actor to ever grace our theater.
when I saw the movie, I didnt know who Colin was and I said, this man will get the oscar!
He is a great personality . Great Actor and he has a naturel charm !!
I’ve Loved Colin Since Pride& Predjudice

Handsom graceful Colin Firth !!!
What a deep thinker! Simply adorable.
How not to love such a perfect man ♡
Multi talented and award winning British actor ❤️❤️
It's amazing how discussing a man's battle with stammering _actually causes people to stammer in their discussion!_ ...And yes, it made tears well up in my eyes as I listened.
Guinn Berger I noticed that, too.
I think, that distinguished actor needs challenges in his career.... The role of King George VI was True inspiration for Mr. Colin FIRTH, the proof of his greatness🙂... I wish more so especial performances❤️
Wonderful as he was in the "King's Speech," you've got to see "A Single Man."
Oh yes! Thank you for the title; I’ve been trying to remember it for some time. A truly beautiful film. Who else could have played it? Perhaps that other brilliant British man, Alan Rickman, before he became the Sheriff.
And Colin Firth could, of course, have made a fine fist of Truly, Madly, Deeply.

Could someone please tell me what Tom Hooper says at 6:20 talking about his mother having seen "The kings speech" as a play and telling him "I think I found your next ... (what?)" Thank you.
Doris Schönershoven your next movie.
Doris Schönershoven Doris Walker you are obsessed with your bridging experience and past exes. The play was a taker. My takers effects your takers and your children and vice versa. We are all connected. That is a quote from the 5 people you meet in heaven. What your actions are, effects mine. What my actions are effects others. What my mothers takers were, effects me. What my half brothers and sisters actions are effects me. You try to control the takers. I am a pawn in your game of chess ♟ cazzy spanakopita 🙏🏻 I remain in peace in a crazy world 👿🥮🧪💉🚽🚰🧘♀️🚴🏻♀️🏋️♀️🏊🏼♀️💃👩🏻🦯 I refuse to bow down to nazi extremist scientists and jealous teenage customer service naughty kids 🧪
