My cat received a death sentence from the vet once we confirmed she had jaundice. I came home and mourned the possibility of losing my sweet girl, and then I watched this video about 10 times with the hope that I might be able to turn her around. I tried the milk thistle combined with force feeding and the taurine supplement for about 2 weeks, and she made a full recovery. The small investment on those products was nothing compared to the cost of the "tube in the neck" fix. Just thank you for putting this out there and saving our furry loved ones. Truly!

Please take this seriously. I had no idea that my cat's partial anorexia was hepatic lipidosis. He was eating a bit and drinking water so I thought he'd be ok, that he might just be feeling off from his meds. Now he's in the ER and we don't think he's going to make it. If your cat stops eating, call the vet right away.

This curvy kitty-cat seemed to understand when you've called her "fat" and reacted to the unflattering remark. Murray is so cute! I've stopped feeding my cats with dry kibbles and within few days noticed that the stool wasn't as stinky as before and the abdominal bloating disappeared in couple of weeks. The heating at high temperature and the method applied to processing of dry food massively increases the conversion of muscle tissues into heterocyclic amines which is carcinogenic and agening to cats, dogs and other animals, including humans.

Please keep in mind that CBD doesn't work for every cat. Sometimes an appetite stimulant is needed in these cases of utmost emergency. Hepatic lipidosis and urinary tract blockages are two of very true life and death cat emergencies in veterinary medicine.
Neither of my cats responded to CBD oil and one does have chronic issues with starving himself. It's been a constant worry and battle since he was just a little over a year old. He's never gone in actual lipidosis, but my vet also has provided me with precautionary/first aid measures at home, high calorie food, subq fluids and B12 injections, supplements to name a few. So far, his appetite kicks in after about a week of force feeding. I know when to get him in if things don't progress as they should. He's going to be 9 in May. He's also not overweight which is in his favor. Appetite stimulants are not my first choice nor my vets, but they work faster whereas CBD may take longer to get into the cat's system and have good results and waste precious time that you don't have when the cat is in crisis such as this. I wish my cats would've responded to CBD, but they didn't. There are other conditions I had hoped it to be beneficial for. To the person who suggested Mirtazapine, I have used both Mirtazapine and cyproheptadine. It's what works best for your cat. It can be a lifesaver. ❤

Hey Doc, I don’t see much research on this so I’m hoping you’ll see this. My cat was recently diagnosed, and one of his major symptoms is excessive thirst with the obvious side effect of excessive urination. I know in the grand scheme of things this is a small problem, but I cannot find any information on what supplements to dietary needs to help him regulate back to his normal throat level? Aside from just feeling terrible for him, I cannot afford $100 in litter a month & I don’t want to force him into potty training if I can’t help him.

I contacted a doggie nutritionist, who devised a diet specifically for his type of liver disease. We were also advised also to give him milk thistle everyday and some additional supplements, It brought down his high liver enzymes after to normal, but has to remain on this diet. Also search the internet for your dogs type of disease there are some excellent recipe and advice there. But change of diet is essential.

I really wish I would of knew about all the different ways that you can help your cat try to recover from liver disease just last Wednesday I had to put my 12 year old cat to sleep because all the medication they were giving my cat wasnt working they also had an IV in her with fluids. The vet didn't even suggest or mention force feeding which I was going to consider doing but was afraid to do from what I read online I read that if you force feed your cat they can end up choking and other negative effects. I never even knew that cat's could get liver disease as they get older I keep blaming myself for my cats death and how I could of tried better. I must of spent over 2 or 3k at the vet only ending up to having her being put to sleep...

I am exactly in this same position at this moment. My cat is young but he just had Foreign Body surgery because he ate 2 hair ties... now he is constantly gagging and refusing to eat. Anything I put by his mouth makes him puke or gag. I have a feeling he has really bad hepatic lipidosis and I am so worried that after spending about 3k on him we will have to put him down. He is obviously not feeling well atm. I am desperate to try anything for him. I am ginna buy these things tomorrow and try to rub them in this mouth and see if anything helps. He is currently taking subcutaneous fluid twice a day

@@manuelmm455 I'm sure if you ask your vet to give you something to stop your cat from vomiting they will give you it.

Have your vet look into exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. EPI. Briefly, it's where the pancreas does not make enough pancreatic enzymes to break down food,so that the colon may absorb nutrients and feed the body. The food sort of bypasses the process of proper breakdown for digestion.
It requires a special test. For some reason, every time I try to go into detail, the comments kick me out. You'll have to get in touch with your vet. It's manageable, but not curable. Will require specific diet(almost always raw)with added pancreatic enzymes and cobalamin supplementation by B12 injections, all which are very easy to do. It can mimic IBD or hyperthyroidism.
      I hope this helps.❤

I just came home and found my cat dead. He was obese for the last few months.. my partner said he needs to go on a diet. I cut his food too rapidly I think the last two weeks feeding him once a day only and it was a hand full of kibble.. 😢 I feel like i killed my boy i feel so stupid and disgusted with myself
