Back in the early 1970s I was lucky enough to be selected to train at the Royal Ballet School. It was my dream come true. At the time I was the only student from the USA. (The school and company was basically closed to foreigners.) It was a fantastic experience. Fonteyn and Nureyev were still dancing - what a thrill to see them on a regular basis. The atmosphere was just incredible - the dignity and fair play (not so common at most top schools and companies). All our teachers were former members of the Royal Ballet. The purest style and technique.
@@nukapuka It depends on the child though. Some kids can honestly not like the sport from when they are as young as 6 and won't change their mind even when they become adults. I hated acting classes when I was that young and I still do🤷🏾♀️ (I'm 18). I just think its hard to put an age on when you should stop forcing a child to do a hobby they've expressed they have no interest in.
All my life I had this dream. Now I start waking up and begin to realise that dreaming is not enough. Dreaming won't replace talent and life long training. As someone who's started late and who is not exactly born for ballett but who has to work soooo hard for every single movement I have always been behind in class. Now after half a year without dancing and no studio to dance in I know that I can't catch up anymore. Feelig really alone and being full awe for the wonderful art those students are capable of. PS: Sorry for all the faults. I'm actually a German.
If you really love ballet, you can keep it in your life. Maybe you will not be a professional dancer, but you never know 😉. Or maybe you will explore some other form of dance that you will love. For me, life wouldn't be the same without ballet, even though I started 1 year ago and I am probably the laziest dancer in the world ☺️, but I keep doing it. But if you don't want to do ballet anymore, it's ok too. Of course you can come back anytime.
DONT GIVE UP!
Never give up. I started adult ballet classes when I was 47. I know I'll never reach any high standards but that doesn't mean I can't continue. Like you, I've missed so much due to COVID-19, but I'll be going back, and with a determined mind to carry on and catch up. After all, if you enjoy it, embrace it. Keep safe and stay strong.
Wow when you look at MBA IN Arizona and you look at the Royal Ballet you get an understanding of the two different worlds, the stark differences between the American and English character. You couldnt imagine sonebody like Eva coming here with her camera shouting SLAY. This is a real school.
I am still very happy I got the chance to see the studio from its inside as I’ve been in London with one of their sweet former supervisors. Even though I never had a class of ballet I am honoured til today that the director at that time asked me wether I danced myself because I looked like a dancer. So the video seems to represent the building and how it looks like in real life very well. Happy you all get to dance again!
In the video there is a ballet barre with handrails at three heights (usually two). Can you tell the coverage from the floor on which they need to be met?

Just think how cool it is to go to a ballet school, let alone THE Royal Ballet School😭😭 I will definitely be sending my children here.
You are/will be a great parent ❤️❤️
Just make sure you don't force them if it's not what they want👀
Isn't entry to the Royal Ballet School competitive?
@@kokichioma2748 Until age 13 they should be guided. Afterwards they can decide, or u make a decision together.

I wish I could be there. In that amazing class. Living my dream. I would dance and nothing would stop me.❤️
