- Dan combo tutorial for the Street Fighter V winter update. This guide goes over his best combos with inputs and easy to follow demonstration. Some beginner and advanced but I mostly aim for damage and practicality. Dan is the next new character DLC released for SFV.

Dan looks legit. If he had his sf4 backdash animation he would be near perfect

Check out Bafael's video on Ryu's updates in this patch. VT1 Ryu has crazy links now too.
The whole cast is ill now, minus a few characters like Falke still needing fixed and a few vskills reworked.

I’ve been having a ton of fun with him. Easily the best iteration of Dan ever.

I still prefer the SF4 Dan. Loved faking out anti airs by Dankyakuing over someone’s head lol

Yeah idk I REALLY miss being able to dan kick backwards in the air. My favorite part about his kit and now it is gone :| He can't even Dan kick in the air at all. :( at least they gave him a super jump taunt :|
For those that don’t know, legendary taunt completely refills CA and V-meter, not that you’ll ever be able to pull it off.
But you take 2x more damage from all attacks once done completely. Saw a clip on twitter where a full life Dan gets obliterated by Honda in only one short combo (ended by CA) after doing legendary taunt
It depends on the opponent I let him finish if it’s a good dan (in terms of sparring mid match)

I think it might be his friend who did this, on stream last night they were talking and his friend said he was working on Dan.

Dan looks good my problem is is that he has trouble getting close to enemies that use long distance projectiles his combos are good but his neutrals are not all that powerful but he does ok amount of damage but since he has a lot of combos it kind of makes up for it. his Gadoken (obviously has no range) can be charged which is pretty neat but it only does like one hit but thankfully it does decent damaged when charged , his v triggers are all right, V1 I don't see using much but it is useful when the opponent is down and getting back up so you can just charge the fireball or when they're dizzy. the trigger II for Dan is the highlight and I would lean on that when I'm using Dan also it takes skill to use him since Dan isn't really easy to play with considering how many inputs this dude has
Overall I would give Dan like a 7/10 =Good enough to play and fun enough to beat with
Yeah he will struggle against guile and sagat
I cant understand why his roll doesnt go underneath fireballs. He has no real way to counter fireballs.
@@ngubod16 idk man the only real way the counter fireballs or avoid it with Dan is to use his Gadoken andHaten Gadoken (which does more hits than a regular Gadoken or Hadoken) or just jump over it

Thanks for the combo video's, I always rely on them said. One thing I'd personally like different though, is for the combo's that use meter and those that don't to be seperate. I always like to have one powerful combo in my pocket that doesn't use meter for when I either don't have meter or am to preoccupied (that is pressured) to pay attention to the meter. It would be easier to (re-)look them up that way. But that's just me.

I was surprised at the damage output, but not really because of the nature of the character. And, in the right hands, I still think he can be strong.
Yeah just like in SF4 he's not top tier but in the right hands can difficult to beat

This is how i know i can't do inputs. Can't even do the 1st combo. Cancelling from a C.LP to a DP HP is a struggle for me.
It is still difficult AF for me too! Try holding down back/diagonal, then whipping it forward, down, down/forward to execute the DP. Also make sure the directional is held in down/forward, or youll just hadoken, or whiff. I can at least execute this 6/10 times, but I agree.
You can use the input shortcut that is used for crouching dps. hold down+forward during your combo, then hit down, then down+forward + P when you have to cancel the move. The important part is to hit down+forward two times, that's what the game recognizes as a dp motion and will give you the move. You can also do down+forward, down+back, down+forward + P and it will also work. Hope this helps

General feedback:
remove the slow motion because we easily can repeat the everything is very obvious, And we can backward easily.
Make the edit faster it’s getting old to wait for the character standing there before he moves to start his combo.

Vesper or community. Any advice on how to do trial 8 where you have you taunt cancel out of crouching HP twice? Its the only trial I have left, and the timing is making more more nuts than fighting Akuma and Cammy 100 times during an online session.
I was surprised. I would’ve thought Upgrade Pass holders will automatically get Dan. But it seems you still have to purchase him for 100000 FM...? The Champions Kit should give you all DLC characters?
It gives you everything up to Season 4. Nothing from Season 5.

the official roadmap says Summer 2021, but it could very well be by the end of summer
clk, clp, xx dp hp is impossible. I dont uderstand how to cancel clp to dp hp.

Dan just hasn’t got enough to make him a serious player still . The fire Ball game needs Buffing , I know he is supposed to have shitty fireballs but it’s not working for him to be a serious contender in STV .

Its a cancel so you gotta do it once the animation comes out and cancel it by pressing another move. If you do it too early, you'll just get the VS poke. I takes some getting used to for the timing but once you play him more you'll get the hang of it. Trials 9 and 10 took me a little while cos the timings are a bit weird.

Is the timing about as strict as Dante’s Bold Move canceling? With Dante, he jumps in the air if your timing was off, so you’ve gotta get your inputs in before then. 🤔
Until it's patched, must master the vs2 cancel for the loop

Not very good character. .... VTRIGGER 1 is insanely bad and slow... Has no move going through projectiles...most of his exmoves are slower or beaten easily... His fireball..ITS LIKE WHY DOES HE HAVE IT? Only EX version is usefull in combos. Maybe hes good on a very high level with taunt cancels and VTrigger 2.
