A mix of both. A big group you run into problems, children, women and elderly slow you down, plus the bigger the group the higher the chances you get a twat that'll end up getting you offed due to his stupidity. So 6 or less for me.

Fun fact: In the Walking Dead universe, none of the characters are aware of the zombie culture, because as stated by Robert Kirkman (the creator of Walking Dead), the zombie pop culture within TWD's universe never existed.

@@eve5093 they don’t know what zombies are, or even the concept of zombie. which is why the characters call them different things, like walkers, i forgot the rest but people throughout the show call them different names.

I forgot how good S1 is. It's actually some of the best acting, writing, and cinematography in the whole series. Every episode is legit movie-quality.

@@spikey288 I’m not talking about just Walking Dead. I’m saying Jon Bernthal or Andrew Lincoln go under people’s radar in general as great actors. They both usually do smaller TV and movie roles and are great character actors, but when they get the occasional lead or main character role, they really shine and show just how deep they can go.
I think, it is not a good move on you guys' part to "warn" her of "poor" writing quality in upcoming seasons. I only began searching within the reaction community this year to fill the void between S11 episodes, watched the whole thing without outside commentary, and though yes ofc there are gonna be better episodes but I don't believe there is any one "bad" season? A lot of y'all think S8 was terrible, but it's been one of my faves to watch (even in repeated viewings). Just let her form her own opinion, if you tell her something is good or bad it is going to influence the way she watches the show and her opinions.

She’s still going into the show completely cold and will ultimately decide what she does and doesn’t like as the series progresses.

I only felt it was a bit odd because you referred to the writing quality as a "rollercoaster", which could mean a few different things (and ofc as humans, we focus on the negative). I have seen on other long time reactors' pages, people saying things like "prepare for this awful season :(" or "This next episode is literally one of the best ever!", and it has influenced reactors' opinions, so I just wanted to communicate we should avoid this going forward. No hate, friend!

No the show doesn't use music like other shows. I think the producers / directors specifically decided to do it this way 👍🏻

at the end there is music once the radio turns on though right?? it wasn't there in this video but i remember loving the music choice since it was the first time to here music throughout the episode and the music appearing kind of showed hope for rick at the the end
@@laurenashleigh02 Yes there is, and they reuse that song a couple seasons later I believe! The music is pretty scarce but that just highlights its' importance when it IS used :)

This is not just any show , this is an amazing experience and Rick is my favorite character ever!
Rick is mine too, but this wasn’t a great experience for me, I cringed nearly every episode.
Dug deep with you and I agree completely Andrew Lincoln does a phenomenal acting job and really pulls you in to feel what he’s feeling and it only gets better my favorite seasons are 4, 5, and 6 I strongly suggest continuing this.👍🏾
TWS had many ups and downs through the years, but if there is one thing that kept consistent is how good of an actor Andre Lincoln is.
Eh it only gets worse to me s1-3 are the high and its downhill afterwards
Seasons 1-5 of TWD is primetime and addicting to binge watch they are so good. Andrew Lincoln’s character arc as Rick is phenomenal.

This show is amazing. It has some of my favorite characters in pop culture and has a really good story backed up by amazing writing and makeup from the people behind the camera.

I'm glad you're jumping into TWD. The stories are great but the gore gets intense as the show gains momentum. Scary movie suggestions > The Cabin in the Woods, The Mist (2007), & Split.

TWD is definitely my favorite show of all time, I started watching it for the first time few months ago ‘cause my coworkers are obsessed with it, and I’ve been in love ever since, wild ride, amazing characters and it just gets better and better. I think I streamed first 5 seasons in like a week, I have gone crazy.
a lot of what you're saying feels really insightful on television writing at today's standards, even though the walking dead isn't that old of a show. You could tell a lot of thought went into the writing, and the use of a slow build up for these really horrific reveals was handled so well. It's lacking in a lot of our current television.

2:06 i dont know if someone has already pointed this out in the comments or if you figure it out later but yes the lack of music is on purpose!! its one of my favorite things about the earlier seasons of the walking dead, i feel like it gets you more immersed in the story when theres no music to distract you from the atmosphere, the sound design is amazing :)))

Morgan's character comes back in later seasons and his performances are absolutely top notch, award-winning level for me.
Loved this reaction!! Rick Grimes is my favorite character, but there are plenty of great characters in this show. I would skip passed TWD every time I saw it on my Netflix feed because I thought it focused just on zombies and people getting infected but I was SO wrong to judge! During quarantine I decided to give this show a shot since I had nothing else to do, and I was not disappointed.

The show is awesome. Worth watching entirely. If you watch ''Fear The Walking Dead'' as well, it only improves the overall experience. There are some additional ''side mini sequels'' that add key details to the story later on. The haters saying some seasons are bad its because they don't understand the underlying themes, plots, and most of the the times its people that skip episodes and miss out on content just because they want action 24/7 and no story. In the other side there's people that cant cope with some outcomes and they wanted the story to be told as they want. But that's not how real life works, things out of your control simply happen, same goes for mistakes and human error. Pay them no mind and enjoy it.
Always makes me laugh when people get squeamish watching this in early days, trust me you'll be immune to it by the current season ha!
I hope you continue watching the show, it is amazing. Enjoyed how you pay attention to all the detail in the episode, the makeup, the sound, the music, the acting. if you enjoyed this first episode it only gets better. there has been some theories of Rick because basically hes in a coma.
1 - hes either hallucinating that everything is happening rn
2 - dreaming and that the apocalypse NEVER Happened while he was in a coma
and to take it all off Rick heard a Helicopter pass by, no one else heard it, but him, and then they call him crazy bc they didnt hear a helicopter due to being through Hallucination
This theory has been debunked by Scott Gimple himself in an interview for the ones who live

TWD scarred me as a kid, but I picked it back up a little later and am now on S11 as it is airing every week, with no regrets! There are so many spoilers out there though since this show has been around for more than a decade, so please be careful and try not to dive into the fandom until you are caught up :) I also see there are some comments about the shows' quality here, and while there will be seasons you prefer (as with any show, that is perfectly okay!), I would try not to pay attention and just enjoy the ride for however long you choose to. There are seasons I have loved dearly, and had no idea the fandom hated so much, so it is best to develop your own opinion and then discuss afterwards 💕💕

If I could watch any show for the first time again it would definitely be The Walking Dead. I was 10 or 11 when it first released and have been a major fan till this day. Grew up with a huge crush on the actor that played Carl and have an autographed picture (was a surprise and absolutely died when I received it.) This show will make you laugh, cry, and love for the characters. Each season gets better, current seasons have been okay. Tons of badass women to look up to!
