So glad I came across this. I was lacking vitamin d when I got blood work done last year and I started taking prenatals just right over a month ago. Research says that we should consume 2,000 IU of vitamin d as healthy adults. My prenatals have 600 IU so I took another gummy that’s all vitamin d. Guess I’m going to step up my vitamin game since I’m ttc! Let’s pray that we all get our positives!

I am a black woman born in the Sahara Region but ive being living in Europe since over 10 yrs.I was shocked my vit D levels were at 17 3mnths ago.I have endometriosis und have gone through 3 IVFs,i recently miscarried even though i had really good embryos one was a 4AA type and the 2nd one was a 3AB type.I have been taking vid D tablets 1000ie daily.Could that be the cause of my misscarriage?I suspect my issue is not getting pregnant rather staying pregnant and carrying a pregnancy to term.Would you advice me on my underlying issue?Thanks in advance.
Definitely get your vitamin d levels up. You likely need a higher dose to do it.
I have the same level of vit D. And my doctor said that I need to take a supplement of vitamin D with 4000. 1000 is not enough
My primary doctor prescribed me 50,000 units twice a week. I don't know what my levels are now but my fertility doctor told me it was at 27 earlier this year so it may be lower now. I just took 50,000 units today and have to take another one during the week is this too much even though it is prescribed?

The docter put me on 25mg 1000iu is this not too low dose? Should I increase upto 5000iu for 2 weeks then decrease down to 2000iu? Until my next blood test.. Can vitamin d supplements do no harm if increasing to certain dosage as long as your taking it
It is possible to take too much vitamin D and suffer from toxicity.

Insulin resistance may interfere with ovulation. APA syndrome may increase the risk for miscarriage

Does a woman approaching 50 have chance of conceiving natural?
My daughter has been wanting a child for years, she just thought it will happen. Well she is now 26, doesnt ovulate (TCC, BBT) for over a year now. She has ovulated 3 times in that time, once with the help of clomid. I noticed that the prenatal vitamins only had 1K iu of vit d. The doc put her on Metformin thinking she might have PCOS. When I noticed the low dose of vit d, I advised her to take another 4K as I take 5K in vit d a day. When we went back to her doc a few weeks ago, I asked the doc to test her vit d but she wont. I mean why not!? Well when using the cheap LH strips, the test line was barely noticeable and now, even tho its its negative cz she is starting a new cycle after 6 weeks of bleeding, there is a def a line! Im thinking this might be the problem all along!
YES it could! Ive been infretile due to a huge lack of vitamin D. And Ive been on it for 10 months and can feel the difference, my menstruations arent as bad and many things corrected themselves with this vitamin. D and B5 is cruicual.

I'm facing vit D deficiency since i was under 18. 2 surgeries in 10 years of ovarian cyst (dermoid cyst). now my major issue is I have no periods last 12 to 13 years. When I take some medicines then I got my periods but they are not coming naturally every month. I am PCOS patient. married but no baby due to zero ovulation. Doctors gave me some ovulation medicine but they are not working on me. Suggest me doctor please help me what should I do for my ovulation. I am 30 years old.
I had the same issue. No ovulation for 1 year, pcos.. what i did : I try to lose 18% of my weight with fasting and little exercise at home. ( not too much), i took prenatal vitamine Materna+ vitamine D+ folic acide+metformin and 3 months later i got pregnant with clomid and insemination. Try and stay focused.good luck!

If our primary care doctor gave us a prescription for 50,000 unit Vitamin D2 1.25MG, why don’t they give one for Vit D3 if D3 is better? Should I ask him to change it to D3?
There is evidence that Vitamin D3 is better absorbed than D2 so most doctors these days use D3

Thanks for the suggestion. As of now, there isn't sufficient evidence to recommend Vitamin D for men to improve sperm motility but we will continue to watch for new data

I am going through my 1st round of IVF in November. I just found out my Vit. D is low at around 26. I've been TTC for 8 years now and have never had my Vit D checked before. I have PCOS w/ insulin resistance and hypothyroidism. I'm on a very strict diet of 15 carbs, no dairy because I'm intolerant and 60 minutes a day of intense cardio with weights. I'm getting mixed answers as far as Vit D goes. Is 2000 iu too much for me or do I go with what my IVF doctor says.
At IVF1, to get vitamin D up quickly, we use prescription Vitamin D 50 000 IU / once a week and then recheck levels after 4-6 weeks

It is okay to take vitamins such a omega 3 and vitamin d3 and vitamin e.
It should not be necessary to take Vitamin E supplements

At my fertility treatment center, we would use prescription strength vitamin D. Ask your doctor
I'm in Arizona nice n sunny I like cows milk n vitamins
1st ER my vitamin d was 25 and (0/8) eggs made it to pgt. 2nd ER (the following cycle) I had raised my vitamin d a little too high but (4/7) eggs made it to pgt and 1 was euploid. Now I'm unable to take my daily multivitamin because it has vitamin d and calcium, until I get my vitamin d down a bit. So now I take K2 to help. Either way, at least I achieved one euploid embryo. My FET cycle starts in 3 weeks.
How did you make your vitamin d go so high in only one month or am I misunderstanding you?

There is no universal amount that applies to all patients. At IVF1, all of our infertility patients undergo blood testing of their Vitamin D and treatment is based on their levels

I've got a question for you doctor. My periods are regular, I have 28 days cycle and I've never missed my periods, my testostrones are also normal but I've been told my progestrone is slightly low, and therefore I've got PCOS. I've got no other symptoms of PCOS. Is this normal form of PCOS?
