  • This week we're reviewing the Sig Sauer P320 Compact 9mm pistol that I've had for a few years. The modularity and customization available in the P320 series is hard to beat with ever-growing aftermarket support from companies like Wilson Combat and Icarus Precision. Mine has been an overall good pistol but it's not without challenges due to its previous life as a range rental pistol at a local range before I bought it. Still it's a solid pistol with plenty of options for holsters, accessories, etc etc.

    The P320 platform offers the owner to make the pistol how they like it. Sig has it really going on with this pistol.

    This is my everyday carry and I love it. I also bought mines used for around $400 and it’s been great.😊

      That's great to hear on all accounts. I certainly enjoy mine even with some headaches here and there.

    I just bought one of these an cannot wait to get it ! Figured it would be a pretty good first conceal carry gun to try out . If anybody has any suggestions to some good CCP please let me know !

    The p320 series drop safety issue was years ago. There was no recall. Sig offered an update modification service to it's customer's. For a professional review on the Sig p320, see Vickers tatical or TFBTV ?

      I'm not looking to pick a fight but be it a recall or as Sig calls it the Voluntary Upgrade Program... It's splitting hairs honestly. Every base model P320 since that program was started has come from the factory with the new lighter trigger. With the original trigger, if dropped at a certain angle, it could discharge accidentally.

      Plain and simple if you’re dropping your gun you’re doing something wrong and maybe you shouldn’t be carrying a gun in the first place

  • @ronniehill8213
    @ronniehill8213 Před rokem +3

    I bought this same gun in 2017, haven't done any upgrades yet however I wonder if the modularity is worth it considering you probably can buy a whole new gun with the prices of the FCU and slides.....

    • @Northwoods.Nobodies
      @Northwoods.Nobodies  Před rokem +2

      It's a little nuts at $300-$350 just for the FCU plus whatever slide, OEM or aftermarket, you pick. Then better, grip, etc etc. Great flexibility just wish it wasn't entirely the cost of a new pistol haha.

    I also found the original grip module to be too fat and bulbous. I got the Wilson combat grip module.

  • @markaliberti8313
    @markaliberti8313 Před rokem +2

    FYI instead of gunsmithing for nine dollars you can just get a new base plates and they fit the new grip modules

      Where did you get those from? I had purchased and tried a Taran Tactical base pad and spring but it technically wasn't for the P320 compact with the 15 round mags.

      @@Northwoods.Nobodies I just press chest the Wilson combat grip for my P320c and two of my seven magazines would not fit, because the little side wing things are too fat so for nine bucks apiece you can get the new base plates

    So I just recently purchased this, is it safe? I don’t want to have to worry about it discharging ya know. Fairly new to guns shot it and liked it but wasn’t aware of all the previous drama with it

    • @Northwoods.Nobodies
      @Northwoods.Nobodies  Před 7 měsíci +1

      The P320 in the video was a rental firearm and I have no idea how many rounds have been through it and I've had zero problems. The drop safety issue shouldn't be a problem now post recall with the lighter trigger. I personally haven't heard of any more issues there. I have seen some posts on social media of the 320 series having out of battery discharges though...I would make sure you're shooting factory loaded ammo and be aware of anything odd happening.
      Is it the majority of 320's failing? No. There are lots of them out in the world that function well. With a brand new pistol you should be fine.

      It is tough to not like the modularity of the Sigs. Glock has such a huge assortment of aftermarket accessories but not quite as simple as the Sigs!

  • @christopherhelminiak9344

    The whole drop safety issue is a non issue unless you’re a fool . Who drops their gun?

  • @christopherhelminiak9344

    Dremeling off a piece of plastic on a magazine does not constitute “ Gunsmithing”
