True, but it wasn't one man band, Eddie was great, one of the greatest ever guitarists but without David Lee Roth
and Eddie's brother Alex (drummer) and MIchael Anthony (bass),....
Especially David Lee Roth, his stage charisma and skill as a performer and as an artist/musician, at that time
was out of this world. When DLR left, Van Halen never was the same, sure, they still had few hit songs every now
and then, but slowly they died after, don't get me wrong, Sammy Hagar was a solid dude and his voice fits perfectly
with one of my all time favorite Van Halen songs; Humans Being, but he is no David Lee Roth.

Alex is a great drummer, but spent his career being over shadowed by the most influential guitarist of a generation. It is sort of unfair, but drummers don't get noticed as much as guitar players, especially when the guitar player is Eddie VanHalen...but I never heard Alex complain about it...he and his brother were a juggernaut...the VanHalen Boys certainly made a mark in music history.
