    I love your 'how-hard-could-it-be' attitude, and it doesn't need to be "perfect." Mind you, the end result was impressive. Great idea for jazzing-up an old tired carpet. Thank you

      Glad you enjoyed it! I always say its only paint. So might as well try it. Glad you like the result and I am happy to say its holding up well.

    This made me laugh so hard 😂
    Thank you for making this video! There were a lot of valuable tips I would not have known to look out for.

    OhMGoodness!!! I Love❤️✨❤️l just want to say that you are Amazing!!! I like your husbands comment that you will paint anything that doesn’t move!!!🌸🌺🌸 Love the rug and great idea for staging!!! I’d Love to see how you do a patio umbrella. Mine is paisley red with green. I did wash with Mr Clean and then jet sprayed with the hose. Pattern kinda intact under but def faded on top!!! Can you send that video?

      Want to do something with it. I’ve gotten rid of quite a few which is insane!!! I Love this one cuz just so gardeningly-is that an actual word? Should I spray with water repelling spray first and then move on with the spray paint. Mine is a wined up and lower-mechanism works fine. Here in Georgia, we had a heat index of 99 degrees so need your advice with this (if willing) to be able to go outside & enjoy my little garden. OMG- watching weathe and heat index for wed/tomarrow is 109!!!!

    • @RIA
      @RIA  Před 2 lety +3

      The patio umbrellas i painted were quite a few years ago, long before we started the CZcams channel. Always talked about we should start one probably for 10 years before we did. The type i did were the wined up kind too just pop it off the frame grab the spray paint and spray. Sand between coats like everything else then once i was happy with the color i scotched guarded and done. As crazy as it sounds it works so well. Hope you find a cooler day to give it a go - NC getting that same heat too makes you really appreciate even a little shade.

      @@RIA Thank You so much!!! I’m gonna give it a go!!! I was outside with my dogs-yours are so cute!!!! What breed? I was outside with mine and watering my little Hosta garden, Finn was jumping at the hose & I got saturated!!!! My backyard is kinda hidden and so freaking Hot…might wear my bathing suit and set a towel near the door and just do it!!!! I need a pool!!! Got a bright green and going to try that!!! Thank You so much!!! I Really Appreciate Your advice🪴🌺🪴

      Thats great your going to give it a go i bet it will go great, its different but it really is not difficult at all. I have a lot of fun with my dogs and sounds like Finn had a good time with the hose, mine are both Maltese. The big one is from Scotland so he came over when i moved back to the US the little one is crazy and loves to try to beat him up. Her daddy's best friend is a cow so a very country girl.

      @@RIA So freakin sweet!!! I’m a dog lover for sure!!! Finn & Milo are sister/brother about to turn 3 at end of August!!! Named them German names cuz Boxer is from Germany-also grew up there-dad was US Army. Finn is a boy name but should be a girl name!!! Also took in my “daughters dog” Sunny. She is a some kinda shepherd-not German- but she is my 3 leg baby!!!

    Love it! Thank you for posting this. My days of crawling on the floor are well and truly over, but I would have painted stencils on the hallway floor in my old farmhouse if I had thought of it. Is chalk paint affected by water when it's dry?

    • @RIA
      @RIA  Před 2 lety +2

      Crawling is the easy part - getting up after is bit more tricky. Sadly yes the chalk paint does not hold up to water so if doing this for outside it would require a top coat of some kind. It can be wiped fine but would not do to well with a scrub without some sort of top coat.

  • @designabeej

    This is awesome 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
    What would happen if I spilt water on this rug? Would it smudge/smear the paint? And if u put a coat of poly over the whole thing, would that protect it?

    • @RIA
      @RIA  Před 2 lety +3

      A little water is not going to harm the paint, soak it up with a towel or similar but don't rub or scrub it. Poly or a water based top coat would work even Scotch Guard. Just sand after you top coat it to soften the fabric again and it will be good and protected.

    Love the result! Awesome job. I have to ask, where did you get the brick backdrop? That's fantastic.

    • @RIA
      @RIA  Před rokem

      The backdrop is from amzn.to/3TMzpFY I really like it for photographs for selling pieces but it stays up all the time. I have a few others but that tends to work the best. Glad you like the rug.

    Hello! Can this rug be for outside? Do you think the colors will fade? Ty♥️

    • @RIA
      @RIA  Před 2 lety

      The problem is not so much fading of the paint if you use it outside, chalk paint will not hold up to water. If you wanted to do this for outside you could use an exterior paint or even a spray paint. I have painted patio umbrellas with spray paint before and they hold up really good to the sun.

    Ria, this rug looks absolutely amazing and I think I’ll be giving it a go too. But how annoyed were you when you realised you’d got the placement of one column wrong?? I’d have been so angry at myself.

    • @RIA
      @RIA  Před 2 lety +1

      I really was not to angry at my self for this one, for me this rug is just for staging furniture so its not that big a deal. Now if it was to be in the house that might have been a bit different. Then again its not often the a full rug is visible I am still happy with the end result and i still have a spare one too.
