As someone who wears glasses, this is completely understandable if you’re using a VR headset - even with a glasses spacer installed (if there is one), the headset pushes your glasses into your face a bit leaving marks and dirt on your skin. Having the rubber there will soften the force and keep the glasses slightly off your face.
If this isn’t for VR then I have no clue what this is.
Maybe it's just a broken pair of glasses 😂
I too use different glasses at home... Usually, broken ones I won't mind wearing out .
My home glasses is literally glued and taped all over...
I only use my good glasses at work since they kinda expensive to replace 😂

The steering wheels fall apart because nobody ever cleans them! Oil from your skin soaks into the leather/rubber/vinyl and causes it to disintegrate over time.

There's a car in our apartment building's parking lot that has balaclavas on the driver's and passenger's seat. They appear to be sewn on or something and it's absolutely terrifying.
It's cheap burglar prevention. Think about it.

As far as that closet that doesn't go to the ceiling is concerned, the space above it can let you put things there like suitcases or other things that would clog up a regular closet
But if you just use that same space to make a shelf on the inside the closet, whatever you store on it will collect less dust.

Many of those projects looked practical, but ugly. *All* of 5min is fake, impractical, deadly, but "good looking" results.
Honestly with half of these I can at least appreciate the ingenuity. Even if the final product is not the play, that's the sort of creativity that can lead to some serious problem solving. I respect it.

Agreed; that E-350 with the F-150 longbed bolted on to what I presume was an Excursion frame was pretty brilliant. From my understanding, every body-on-frame Ford from that era could pretty much be bolted together like Legos, as all the body mount points were standardized. The first one is probably removable and just attaches to the trailer hitch, which would be great if you wanted to keep the cargo area nice. I had a '94 Suburban that had a super-nice interior, but the cargo area was pretty rough, so I'd just toss motors, transmissions, and pallets of sand in there. It worked, but something like this would have been cool, especially if you were traveling with a crew of 7 employees.

The dock in the video was nicely maintained. Putting a deckchair on top isn't going to be *less* of a tripping hazard. If well-made it'd be quite nice on a warm summer day. Just bring a cushion and you're good to go.

That one actually bothered me...from an engineering perspective, it seems pretty sturdy. It's mounted into studs and load-supporting beams on 3 sides and the landing looks to be made from at least 1/2"-thick acrylic. The only thing that I find upsetting is the second ladder, which should have been made wider to begin with (which appears to be tied into studs) and the way the slot was cut on the first ladder could have been cut differently to add support to that side of the landing, but...I'll bet that thing could probably support a few thousand pounds, easy. Also, they need to match the stains on the wood.

As someone with glasses those gaming glasses are quite smart if you use a headset since it is kind of painful when it presses the plastic into the side of your head so using straps would be way more comfy especially if you still want to see your screen without removing your glasses every now and then to rub the sore indents underneath
