The visual design is frustrating with how similar it is to the shadowmane's, and it doesn't exactly do anything unique, but I think it's neat to have the ability to swap from shoulder pet to mount like that.
Edit: I take it back. Honestly, this creature has a ton of neat features, I'm glad they sacrificed how visually unique they are to make them cool and interesting tames, and to be fair 1 the shadowmane design is peak 2 this is decently different, just being a lionlike creature, it has a completely different texture.

I mean I could see it as a variant, and I could see the devs doing that on purpose, cause the shadowmane is more sleek and ambush like with its invisibility, quick jumps and teleporting attacks which makes sense with its name (shadow-mane) and the pyromane, is self explanatory, it’s a flame esc version with all flame attacks, a slower, damaging attack as well as the new ability which could be kinda like a replacement for the invisibility, so I’d say it’s like the shadowmane for a reason, that may just be me but I think it was cleverly made and differentiated.
two things I do believe you are unaware of:
1-It also makes jerky
2-you are immune to fire-including damage from lava
I refuse to buy this nonsensical creature but I hope whoever does enjoys it. I’d rather have a Suchomimus or some other sick real life creature to a fantasy one that has broken abilities.
I can't wait for the Aeromane varient. A reskin of a shadowmane but with wings that allow it to fly.
If you think that jump is flying wait till you ride the shadowmane. They literally take off to jump across the world

The only reason I'm not particularly mad that we have to pay for this mod is because we did get Scorched for free. And I do believe they are not going to make us pay for these maps because we technically already purchased them with survival evolved. So eh, if they want us to pay for some unique content so they can continue making this game, I'm not too opposed. As long as it doesnt become PtW, of course.

I'm a proud owner if the pyromane. I'll easily get my money's worth with it. If the breeding wasn't jacked up, I'd already be breeding the hell out of it.
I've got one with just the right shade of green so it looks like warcrafts felfire and I feel like I'm riding an infernal cat. Love it.

You can just lure one to the shoreline and use the ocean to weaken it if you don't want to wait for rain.

Use a wyvern to pick them up and take them to the obelisk
