Someone once did. He had lived at the particular address back in the 40's-`50s as a kid. The house had been abandoned in about 1961 and was still standing. Couldn't believe it.
I once watched this video of a place that literally had everything left in it including all the kids stuff. A girl commented that one of the little girls who lived there was her mother! That wouldve been weird for her watching but very cool at the same time.
I was curious if the ”18” really did mean 2018 or not, so I looked at a 2018 calendar. January 1, 2018, did fall in a Monday. That house certainly deteriorated in a hurry.
I'm going to take a guess and say...the people that lived there never cleaned and they could be hoarders and that maybe just maybe they were evicted and building condemned...just a lucky guess🤷♀️
I wonder if this was a divorce situation compounded by foreclosure. They had at least one child judging by the old school VHS videos. That "weird metal thing," was a pair of folding scissors usually carried in a purse. There was what appeared to be a dog chew toy on the shelf by the ipod. From the decorative borders around the tops of the walls and the tile countertops I'd guess this place was built in the early 60's. Hope the two of you stay safe and well.
This was a very interesting find. Those little scissors you found on the floor are I think sewing scissors; they can be folded up to fit into a small sewing box. That calendar on the door said January ‘18 so maybe the last residents left around that time. One bedroom looked like a girl’s room with the little angel decorations and the other bedroom a boy’s with the car poster. Very odd how they left their toothbrushes and toothpaste in the bathroom. That bin of framed family portraits in the back yard is even more odd. Why were those left behind? A mystery.
I’d wager the floor collapsing in half the house had something to do with it being vacated. Everything is on stilts in the south and this is common in older homes.
Hi Rick & Bekah!! Strange house...great video! This house gave me the heebie jeebies. Very sad and depressing seeing family photos left outside, food in the cupboards, and old VHS tapes that were probably family videos. Interesting place! Thanks for sharing! Y’all take care & stay safe!! Happy Easter!! ✝️
Looks like you found a pair of folding sewing scissors often found in travel sewing kits. It might be that this home was probably foreclosed on hence the damage in the walls, ruined state of the interior of the house and/ or could be the victim of vandalism or random squatters.
Great video! Next time will you look at the cans on the cupboard and see the dates! It looks like the original owner left many years ago and then squatters lives there for a while after!
Kate and Kids Yes that's exactly what I think. There is no way it was abandoned in 2018. I agree original owners left years ago and newer things we saw was from squatters.
Yeah to be honest i was thinking it looked like possibly a foreclosure or possibly they moved because of structural damage to the house, but those are good guesses as well.
I think at one time back in the day it was a pretty nice house. But wow trashed badly now. Calendar, tooth brushes, iPhone most likely squatters. Very interesting video. Thanks Rick.
Maybe a foreclosure. Then the bank let it sit and it got to this state so they're letting it sit some more. When you have to be out quickly for any reason, you quickly decide what is really of value or needful to pack up and haul out. You leave the rest, like in this house. (Those photos looked like the kind you get from school or Sears...they come in package deals and you have several--leave the bulky framed ones and take the packets.)
Good video! I too wonder what happen to the owner/families. Often I wonder if the senior individual has passed, the spouse already has passed and for whatever reason the children/family do not return to retrieve items. Sad!!
This had to have been a hoarders house. On the show Hoarders, the floors/carpets always look like this after they clear it all out. It was also not cleaned and maintained regularly, which is another sign.
Looks like it was abandoned quite a few years ago.. it has been hit by vandals and people going for copper wiring.. Was a cute little house.. perhaps something happened to the parents of the family and they gave it all up. Also the little toy shotgun, I think that was from the Nintendo Wii.. for a hunting game.. looked similar to one my nephew had
One day someone will explore a place and find an iPhone and be like "Oh my God you guys, look at this relic! They just don't make these anymore" lol I like the Lamborghini Huracan poster. That car was introduced in 2014, so this place was still occupied then. Although it looks like it's been abandoned for 20 years. Many of the canned goods and jars look like they're WAY before 2014.
2:41 hey look..some chow chow...my granny used to make chow chow when I was a "young'un"...she made some that was mild and a few jars of hot that would light you up :)
Those silver things were folding scissors and there was also black mold in the closet. You are right this was truly a depressing house.. Thank you for your explore and for sharing
I am pretty sure homeless people or other people have been in there, and probably pretty recently!! The ramp on the front of the house.... maybe was an elderly persons home??? Enjoyed, as always!!
Oh my! That addition off the kitchen was pretty weird, to say the least! And as for the rest of the house,I liked the simplicity of it,very cute kitchen. But thumbs down on that hideous door😕
I always wonder why people walk around trying to decide how long a place has been empty. If no calanders are hanging the outdated stuff in the pantry will give you a idea.
At 4:21 I got genuinely excited because of seeing that videotape in the collection that says "Diabetes" on its blue cover, because my late mom was given a copy of that very videotape by her primary care doctor in the late 1980s! It's a comedic video hosted by someone whose name I've forgotten and featuring famous diabetics at the time such as Jean Smart and Dana Hill and was supposed to teach you how to better manage your diabetes in a humorous way. I'll look up more information about it in a minute but I've definitely seen the video uploaded onto CZcams before, and in it you get to see how testing for blood sugar was like back in those days as well as what it was like to inject insulin before insulin pens were developed. It's actually pretty fun to watch! Edit: it was actually hosted by comedian Tom Parks and was called "Diabetes: A Positive Approach". You can see it on CZcams here: czcams.com/video/1Zr02X2697E/video.html
That was really strange. First it just seemed old and abandoned. But the other part of the house looked creepy. The black on the walls. It looks like kids were messing around in it. It was like two different houses. One sad and abandoned the other creepy, like something strange went on in there.
Same as what they do in Australia. Abandoned then followed by taking things in the house that's value. Then trashing then follow america with scribble paint everywhere then at the end burnt down. Like the video I like documentary's its interesting but sad as well. Keep up the good work. From Australia.
The fact that there VHS tapes left and right shows that this place has been abandoned for probably about 10 years or more but that’s also counting the style of the chassis of the house and the way its built outside in and the damage left from looters, corrosion, molding etc. whatever happened must’ve happened at a simpler time period😤 Also it said On the coke bottle said Christmas of ‘95 *ALSO I DONT THINK THE CALENDAR HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE FAMILY AND WHEN THEY LEFT* I think over the years homeless people and other curious people came by and left marks behind accidentally which explains the iphone 4 being left there and other little objects like the scissors which are clean and the spray paint on the wall that said “good bye”
The house is definitely wrecked & has seen better days. I wonder how it got some of the mold. Those small scissors looked like sewing scissors. The Coke bottle was a collector’s item. The cola would be gross, I’d imagine. The last bedroom you were in before you go back into the kitchen, the calendar you were looking at said January 18 at the top.
7:00 Roll Tide! (sorry, force of habit. That is the rallying cry for the University of Alabama's football team, known as The Crimson Tide. My dad is from Alabama, and loves college football)
A lot of older places become abandoned because of mold. Really expensive removal. Sometimes cheaper to move. Especially if it’s a rental. Occurs a lot in the south. Just my thoughts.
Item at 5:38 was a pair of travel scissors. Unfold the finger loops and it straightens to a pair of usable scissors. Yeah, your house hasn't been abandonded for too long .. years, not decades. :)
Looks like a rental property the tenants made a mess of and were evicted, what they didn't take the landlord possibly dumped outside the property so they could come back and take the stuff. Landlord may not have had the money to fix up the place and probably just sitting on the land value.
what I find really strange is that such a modern home was not immediately sold after the people moved out. The destruction is disgusting. A perfectly good house ruined, that someone could have moved into. I do like that door you found interesting. That appears to be a 1950s-70s rancher.
Hi all please keep comments on topic. This has nothing to do with Coronavirus. Thanks !
Ok ricktum

i wish just once the previous tenants of an abandon home would pop up in the comments and explain a bit.

@@lisaess i really just wanna hear backstory on like why they up and left or anything
These people are probably dead frim an O.D., or dead. :/
5:35 that’s a pair of folding scissors for travel sewing kit.
7:23 pretty sure that calendar is from 2018😬😬 not really surprising tbh
I was curious if the ”18” really did mean 2018 or not, so I looked at a 2018 calendar. January 1, 2018, did fall in a Monday. That house certainly deteriorated in a hurry.

Probably a rental home the tenants destroyed and the owner gave up on it
Sad this place was left like this, especially the photos.
Thanks for the tour.
Always blows my mind that mice or rats are not running around in these abandoned homes
This was a very interesting find. Those little scissors you found on the floor are I think sewing scissors; they can be folded up to fit into a small sewing box. Snotgirl I saw that on the calendar, too.
I’d wager the floor collapsing in half the house had something to do with it being vacated. Everything is on stilts in the south and this is common in older homes.
TransDerwinOverdrive It caved in so fast they fled without their toothbrushes 💨
Yup on the scissors. Part of a tiny seeing kit.
Snotgirl you are right. I had a pair of those years ago.
Love watching your vids,Rick and Bekah, stay safe guys and God Bless🙏
Thx for sharing Rick!👍👍
Hi Rick & Bekah!! Strange house...great video! This house gave me the heebie jeebies. Very sad and depressing seeing family photos left outside, food in the cupboards, and old VHS tapes that were probably family videos. Interesting place! Thanks for sharing! Y’all take care & stay safe!!

Another great video by my number one favourite youtubers cant wait for more
Thanks James !!
Those were a pair of folding scissors used for sewing or embroidery or found in a travel sewing kit.
That little sliver thing you picked up was a pair of folded sewing scissors. :)
Looks like you found a pair of folding sewing scissors often found in travel sewing kits. It might be that this home was probably foreclosed on hence the damage in the walls, ruined state of the interior of the house and/ or could be the victim of vandalism or random squatters.
The 70s called-- they want their ugly green bathtub back. 😀
This house was built in the 50s; not 70s.
W Fox it was neither she sheesh pffft
The calendar said Jan 18-(there was a tiny 18 next to Jan) so I’m assuming it was a abandoned in 2018 :)
What a interesting house. As usual,I enjoyed looking at all the stuff
Odd colors in the house and overall a strange, depressing place. I think the best plan for this location is demolition.
Just leave it alone...
@@dalemulholland4469 Right. So other scavengers can hate it too.
Yes demo it
This was a very sad house in deed. Those folks must not been too good at cleaning! Just nasty, inside and outside! Peace, Kim ~
Imagine if you said 'hello' and someone answered. 😨
LOL!
Thankyou!! 👍👍Good one..love the ones without vandalism.👍👍
@Barry White I'm from Brockton

Kate and Kids Yes that's exactly what I think. There is no way it was abandoned in 2018. I agree original owners left years ago and newer things we saw was from squatters.
Yes, that’s what I think. There were VHS tapes still out, which makes me think it was abandoned in the 90s.
The metal object that you picked up in the bedroom were fold-able mini scissors.
Hello, very interesting explore , thank you for sharing😊
Looks like tenants or litigation-Divorce? Death? Bankruptcy?
Looks like a bunch of animals lived there. No I take that back. Animals are not that messy.
Yeah to be honest i was thinking it looked like possibly a foreclosure or possibly they moved because of structural damage to the house, but those are good guesses as well.
The calendar said it was 2018, that Iphone was around 2014-2015 :)
Yep 2018. IPhone 4s came out in 2011. 2014 was the iPhone 6 and 2015 was the iPhone 6s. I’ve owned every kind of iPhone since the iPhone 4 in 2010.
that i phones more like 2011-2012 lmao i had an iphone 5 in 2014
I think at one time back in the day it was a pretty nice house. But wow trashed badly now. Calendar, tooth brushes, iPhone most likely squatters.
Very interesting video. Thanks Rick.
Thank you !
Probably built about 1953-54. Too bad it was left to rot. Looks like it might've been a nice home at one time.
Looks like its been abandoned longer than 2018 looks like its been abandoned for at least 7 years awesome video
Maybe a foreclosure. Then the bank let it sit and it got to this state so they're letting it sit some more. this house is in very rough condition especially considering it was abandoned in only 2018
I think maybe one of the taggers that were hanging out in their left the phone behind.

I think they had to leave because of the condition of the house and I think it was condemned by the town
2:41 hey look..some chow chow...my granny used to make chow chow when I was a "young'un"...she made some that was mild and a few jars of hot that would light you up :)
It looks like it was hit hard by the elements, maybe a flood or hurricane. That's why everything's caving in on itself?
Those silver things were folding scissors and there was also black mold in the closet. You are right this was truly a depressing house.. Thank you for your explore and for sharing
AT ONE TIME THIS HIME WAS BEAUTIFUL. CAN BE RESTORED. GREAT VIDEO. THANKS FOR SHARING.
It would be cheaper to tear the mess down and build a new one than to restore it. It's too far gone in my opinion.
That was a pair of collapsible thread cutting scissors. Also I believe that the calendar had "18" on it.
I always wonder why people walk around trying to decide how long a place has been empty.

Amazing how many wasted houses and property is out there. People always need to live somewhere and where it's not crowded. House looks 40's or 50's.
That was really strange. First it just seemed old and abandoned. But the other part of the house looked creepy. The black on the walls. It looks like kids were messing around in it. It was like two different houses. One sad and abandoned the other creepy, like something strange went on in there.
It's only been 2 years. Must have been pretty bad when they left.
This place has been diy’d by the owners. Looks like they put in walls to make room for more kids maybe. That would be why it doesn’t make sense.
Same as what they do in Australia. Abandoned then followed by taking things in the house that's value. Then trashing then follow america with scribble paint everywhere then at the end burnt down. Like the video I like documentary's its interesting but sad as well. Keep up the good work. From Australia.
The thing on the floor were folding scissors
That silver round thing you found on the floor are actually scissors. They unfold and are usually used by people who do needle work.
the thing you found on the floor was scissors
The shiny silver thingy is a pair of fold up scissors lol
“Chairbums” 😂

I think over the years homeless people and other curious people came by and left marks behind accidentally which explains the iphone 4 being left there and other little objects like the scissors which are clean and the spray paint on the wall that said “good bye”

Interesting layout. Also judging by the books - a mechanic lived there, that, or someone was truly into cars.
That item at 5:36 is a folding scissors.
It is a pair of scissors looped over
Cool ty
Great video you wondered what happened to the owners
Poor house😢
That house is depressing.
Hello Rick and Rebecca I got your comment I keep it real keep them coming
Uauuu, uma casa tão bonita , toda destruída 😔
5:44 folding scissors-- open out the little ring looking things and straighten them out-- very handy thng to have
7:00 Roll Tide!
(sorry, force of habit. That is the rallying cry for the University of Alabama's football team, known as The Crimson Tide. My dad is from Alabama, and loves college football)
The thing on the floor you asked what is this, was folding scissors. Fyi
Maybe some squatters put the 2018 calendar and iPhone in there. The house looks like it's been abandoned much longer than that.
A lot of older places become abandoned because of mold. Really expensive removal. Sometimes cheaper to move. Especially if it’s a rental. Occurs a lot in the south. Just my thoughts.

Yeah, your house hasn't been abandonded for too long .. years, not decades. :)
that was foldable scissors on the floor usually in a sewing kit.
I-phone may have been left by another urban explorer or a squatter?
Do you guys seem like you do a lot of exploring in the south.
Looks like a rental property the tenants made a mess of and were evicted, what they didn't take the landlord possibly dumped outside the property so they could come back and take the stuff. Landlord may not have had the money to fix up the place and probably just sitting on the land value.
I do like that big A that they painted on the door outside Roll Tide!!!
Depressing? Affable? Cheerful. Realesate 😊
That is a pair of fold up scissors.
flooding or tornado damage possibly?
Those are folding scissors on the floor.
Those were foldable scissors.
Who's here after watching creepy Randonautica videos or smth like that
foldable scissors on the floor.
Hey I just bought a pair of scissors just exactly like the ones on the floor...
I think it was a pair of folded mini scissors
Manicure scissors is what that is. It folds up!

@5:30 folding scissors
I dont think that family was very house proud.
Those were folded scissors
On the floor, the item you didn't know what it was. They looked like travel scissors
