    I actually really like the variation in color between the kit and the floor tom ... I thought you had done it on purpose before watching the video.
    Very nice finished results ... Looks great ... very classy looking set!
    And the stickerbombed snare drum adds a touch of funky personality to the kit!

    Nicely done! I wish I shot when I did mine. Keep up the good work. Gotta love those old school 90s kits. Power toms sound better IMO.

    The two lower lugs do not use the T handle style becasue they would hit the floor. This is how they are from factory.

  • @awesomefanger
    @awesomefanger Před 2 lety +1

    From the factory, only the four claws nearest the floor were key rods, all the rest were T rods.

      Ah okay that makes sense, thanks!

      @@martysanchez3890 True. This allows for easier tuning adjustment. Usually the T-style tension rods will not clear the floor easily without having to raise the drum a bit in order to get them to turn fully. Also the T-style tension rods will conflict with the floor surface when the drum is tuned as you desire thus forcing you to turn them further which will either be a higher tension or lower tension than desired. I hope that explanation makes sense. Ne'er-do-well is exactly right. I usually replace the 2 T-style tension rods on my drums for this very reason with the standard style rod that requires a drum key. Best wishes and keep drumming!

    You naturally lead your fills with your left hand you should look at playing as an open handed drummer

    tama rockstar o pearl export 90s? wich is better?

    • @savagehenry5158
      @savagehenry5158 Před 3 lety +1

      tama for me. but why are you limited to these two ? there are so many better kits now

    • @maxxpayne7964
      @maxxpayne7964 Před 3 lety

      @@savagehenry5158 For now I have a limited budget, and I am looking for a drum kit that has deep toms and classic measures, and nowadays most of the low-end kits have short 10 and 12 toms, in addition to poor quality hardware. . That's why I was thinking about the pearl export, and since the tama rockstar is a bit more expensive (in my country), I am deciding between the pearl export and the tama swingstar, which I suppose if later I put a zero contact system on the toms would be at the same height as the pearl export. And which current kit do you think is better than the pearl export and the rockstar?

    • @savagehenry5158
      @savagehenry5158 Před 3 lety +1

      i disagree with all your desiderata but hey its your life. pearl and tamas current midrange kits are sweet. the hardware is good. 3-500 dollars will get you there. maybe less if you take your time buying used.

    • @maxxpayne7964
      @maxxpayne7964 Před 3 lety +2

      @@savagehenry5158 But I'm in South America, and here a new kit costs much more expensive than in the first world, so I have to buy something used. And there's not a lot of variety, and most of the used drum kits here have short toms, and they don't sound bad, but it's not the sound I'm looking for.
      And actually I have a modern tama kit, and comparing it to a 90's tama drum kit (rockstars and swingstars), 90's tama drum kits have better hardware, I don't know if it will happen with pearls. But even so, the toms arms of the exports are seen to be very strong and durable (although perhaps they should drown the drum)

      @@maxxpayne7964 not sure if you’re still looking but I have a little experience with those kits from the 90s and 2000s. Pearl seems to make better shells that are more likely to be round and resonate. Tama probably has slightly better hardware though. I lean towards Pearl export over Tama rockstar

      I did not use any wood filler but i did use wood glue on what part of the high rack tom from an error i made when removing the wrap.
