Diceman was/is a great character because Andrew is a fine character actor. If the things that came out of his mouth on stage were his personal views, I could see people being upset. But he is playing a character.
I saw him many years ago at Pips in Sheepshead Bay. This was before he was a household name. And we spoke with him after the show. He was congenial, he was intelligent, soft spoken, and a very nice guy. People just get too uptight because they’re ignorant and he’s so good at what he does that they buy it. But that’s not Andrew Silverstein. It’s the Diceman that you’re buying. Andrew is simply an entertainer/comedian.

It’s one of the most underrated films of all time. It is as iconic, if not more, than Rocky and Gone With the Wind. It’s one of the most action-packed action films of all time, only rivaled by juggernaut films like Double Dragon or New Jack City. I’m amazed it was even released theatrically. The levels of intense, adrenaline-filled action are unmatched in any modern film, save for 3:10 to Yuma or Double Jeopardy. A truly timeless experience.

I wouldn't nor do I expect everyone to share my views however or like/not like what I do. To each their own. not to split hairs, but it wasn't just black comedians doing similar vulgarities in comedy, Rodney Dangerfield did similar. just not to the same extent.
George Carlin did it in a more critique like manner of how stupid society was/is growing.
even Robin Williams pulled out a few racy and vulgar jokes that made seasoned comics when he was starting out go "what the hell drugs am i not getting?"
Dice was just the one who youths flocked to because he wasn't this old dude, he was loud, colorful, was into the same musics they were, and he was basically unfiltered masculinity who took no shit from anyone.
and women loved him because there was no illusions, yeah he was a vulgar pig, very little was left to imagine and you knew where you stood.
hell i was a kid at the height of his fam in the 80's-90's. now did i find his jokes funny, yeah, did i emulate him, no, frankly i more or less felt kinship with the goonies, the monster squad and whatnot because they were kids like me, not a perverse Elvis clone, which i thought he was, but i still laughed at his jokes.... pretty much why i laugh at how easily offended people are now days and ponder if someone let young dice loose on this society, what shit storms would he stirr up, it'd be funny is all i know

Dice made millions of dollars from performing toilet humour.
He did NOT have the talent to write and perform intelligent comedy like the amazing George Carlin.
But Dice had amazing delivery and stage presence.
But he was the worst joke writer ever.
He simply relied on the low intelligence of most of the American public who will laugh at anything.
George Carlin actually elevated the level of intelligence of ANY audience with his
    stand up shows.
Dice formula was to work with the various audiences at their own low level of intelligence.

Cant believe I'm leaving a thumbs up on CNNs channel, but the diceman has been making me laugh for years and years. It's pretty sad that even back then, people were getting butthurt about comedy. You couldn't get away with his act these days, it's depressing seeing these brilliant comics constantly being censored and cancelled.

WOW I just found this, I was fake Stallone at 17:24. Far from my best Stallone voice but it worked. I also fooled Mike Tyson on the radio when I worked at KROQ in Los Angeles in 1987. My name is Mark Silverman.

Dice has got to be the most polarizing person. On the one hand, I understand his critics. His racist comedy is very much an enabler to racists. Watch when they cheer him almost like rabid dogs when he makes his racist jokes. On the flip side, racist or not, appropriate or not, they’re funny. AND… it’s a character. It’s not who he really is. As a Jew, my guess is, he’s not very extreme to the right. And he claims he’s not. I believe him. It’s an act. It’s a character. He’s playing a dickhead. He even says in this interview that he would neither like nor hang out with someone like his character. I believe that. I’d bet my bottom dollar that if I met this guy in person, I’d like him (and I’m a socially liberal gay guy). Soooooo… I’m not sure what to think of him. I’d bet he’s a good guy in person. And he’s funny as hell. But I do think that his character is an enabler of racist a**holes. It is just an act. But just look at the reaction he gets. If you don’t think he’s enabling those attitudes and promoting them, you’re deluding yourself. And Andrew should realize this, since I think he’s an incredibly intelligent person. Therein, he doesn’t escape criticism. So, I just don’t know what to think of him. He’s a smart guy and I’d bet my life on it that he’s a good and decent guy. But I don’t think you can escape the fact that he enables his audience. Just watch their reaction. BUT… how much do we “hate” him for that when he’s just playing a character. He’s giving these clowns what they want. Can you blame him? It’s such a tough call. Andrew is a good and decent guy. But his shtick DOES promote negativity. Just look at his last line in the Rodney Dangerfield episode. The crowd screams with delight. I’m an expat. I live in a foreign country. I’d like to learn the language, but I struggle to do so. So, should I be thrown out because I don’t know the language? How horrible is that?!?!?!?! I’m actually here HELPING the people of my host country. And I should be thrown out because I haven’t learned the language? Absurd, horrible and downright evil. BUT… Andrew doesn’t really believe this. He knows it’s stupid. It’s just a “Dice Man shtick”. BUT… his audience eats it up and is enabled and encouraged by it. So… hmmmmmm… is this really okay. I actually don’t know the answer. It’s a tough call. I’m actually in favor of comedians pushing the envelope. For example, his joke about blindfolding Asians with dental floss is just plain funny. There’s no two ways about it. Look, many in Asia actually undergo plastic surgery to have their eyes be more like Westerners. I find it appalling. There is nothing wrong with how they look. But the point is, even they know that their eyes are, biologically, different. So, why is this a “racist” joke, when you’re just addressing a fact that even the butt of the joke admits is true. Thousands of Asians annually have cosmetic surgery to either get Western eyes or noses. Point is, it’s a REAL biological, genetic difference. So… joking about it is NOT inherently racist. Racism is applying stereotypes that are NOT necessarily true. Dice is talking about a genetic truth, not a stereotype. BUT… he is also doing so in a rude way. Sooooo… is it racist? Maybe. In my own judgement, yes, it is. But there is SOME room for debate. And that’s where this whole thing gets complicated. Is mocking a racial truism racist? On the one hand, it’s true. On the other hand, you’re mocking it and making fun of it. Then… further to that… even if you think it’s inappropriate, does it become acceptable if it’s done by someone intentionally playing a jerk-off character while mocking it? That’s a tough call. So…
I’ll say what I said at the outset. He’s so polarizing. And such a difficult person to put in a box or pass judgement on.

His comedy might be satirical/ironic but his dumbass racist/misogynistic fans don't interpret it that way, that much is obvious. He's aware of that too. So yeah, he's trash

This is just like the "controversy" about Rogan. Real people dug Dice and understood it was just comedy but the intelligentsia makes like it's a moral outrage. Rogan entertains ideas and people from the fringes and he's hugely popular because of it.
