I became a christian because after I read the Bible, I saw a God who loved man. I did not see judgement but encouragement and resource to perfection. I have not seen this outside the Bible and Christianity.
By the way, many Christians have actually memorized the Bible and even the Quran. Christian Prince can Quote the Quran and the Hadith more than most Islamic scholars.
Sometimes it hurts to see folks having their accepted beliefs shaken. I can remember a time when I was very interested in the Judaic community and it took years of wrestling with my beliefs to sort it out. These are not easy things to deal with as things run far deeper than just whether this or that scripture was corrupted or misinterpreted. May God who is All-compassionate and All-Merciful guide these folks and grant them peace.

Rabbi Singer could care less about a Christian belief, his entire mission is to stop Christian missionary activities among the Jews. Christians who hear Rabbi forsake the lies of Christianity. I am an ex christian. I'm an atheist now, but I wanted to compliment Rabbi Singer. His command of scripture is incredible. When I first became a christian at age 15, I asked my youth minister why Jews didn't believe. His answer was so lame. Weather or not I agree with your faith, I respect your level of knowledge and having a substantial line of defense for your beliefs. In my quest thru christianity with skepticism always nagging me, intelligent conversation about scripture, theology, history, was just so rare. I think you have to be making your people proud Rabbi.

Keep in mind satan tried using scripture against Jesus and he knows scripture far better than Tovia Singer. Also do not overlook the FACT this man has NEVER experienced the presence and glorious voice of God and so with all of his knowledge he does not have correct UNDERSTANDING. Jesus said that if possible even the elect would be deceived with what is yet coming on this fallen planet.

@@freyatilly My main resource is the Divine Code by Rabbi Moshe Weiner. He cites and explains those writings of Maimonides that relate to the Noahide Code. I looked up many of those writings at Chabad and I also studied his Sefer Hamitzvot to get a general understanding of the Jewish commandments.

Lázaro Guerra "the young woman is with child" means "the young woman is pregnant" so she can not be virgin. The Rabbi is correct. Virgin in hebrew is "betula" and there is no masculino for this word. In Ishaia the word used is almah and its masculino form is elem. A good example of a Torah text with these two words is in the story of Eliezer seeking Rifka to marry Isaac. There, the word used is betula and means that Rifka is a virgin (Genesis 24:16) and in this context only Hashem could know that, Eliezer is speaking from his heart (Gen. 24:45). Later in Genesis 24:43 when Eliezer is talking to Rifka's father and brother he uses almah which means young lady, the same word used in Ishaia 7:14. Because in Eliezer eyes she looks like a "almah" (young woman) only. He couldn't know if she was or not "betula" (virgin). Almah and betula (young woman and virgin) different words, different meanings.
One correction as a native Hebrew speaker. There is batul as the masculine form of virgin. It’s just not used in the Bible, as it didn’t matter whether a man was a virgin, only women were judged for their virginity status.

Here the context requires “עלמה (almah)” to mean “virgin.” The verse says the conception of the עלמה is “a sign” from the Lord. The word for “sign” (אות) is used throughout the Old Testament to refer to miracles or extraordinary displays (e.g. “signs and wonders”). The word may sometimes refer to non-supernatural signs, but it still refers to something that is worthy of note. A virgin birth would certainly be a miraculous sign, but then why not just use an unambiguous word for virgin in the Hebrew language? To be coy with us? Here is where knowledge of other semitic languages may come in handy - the Arabic word for sign is very similar to the Hebrew and is used often in the Quran. It typically is something very very obvious and unambiguous that all of us can recognize (e.g. day and night). We see similar uses in Hebrew, where the sign is something one can see and experience (2 Kings 19:29; 1 Samuel 2:34; Exodus 4:1-9).
Is it obvious to the naked eye that a pregnant woman is a virgin? You can take it on faith that she is, but a ‘sign’ is supposed to be unambiguous. The whole point of a ‘sign’ is that it smacks you in the face.
Perhaps the sign is that Immanuel will eat curds and honey.

A follower of Christ here, I enjoyed this video. I would ask the question for Isaiah 7..what determines prophecy? When can prophetic speech be applied? Young woman being revealed as a virgin is in alignment to that prophetic word, using the understanding that what God says will be, will be. We just don't know how it will be. I will research these other things you have said.
The most important thing to know is that prophecy ended with the book of Malachi, therefore, there are no Prophets today, despite what the Pentecostals falsely preach.

I have been all over the Christian world in the Mediterranean region, France, Ireland, Iona etc which makes me a Roaming Catholic if nothing else. I've noticed that Christianity is being seen of late as a Roman Construction with help from Paul and others with a great deal borrowered (plagiarised?) from the Jewish tradition. Islam has some roots in both traditions. India has many belief systems unique to itself and as you travel further east to Japan etc many more religious traditions are to be encountered.
This is a very interesting aspect of Human Culture and can be enjoyed by all provided that we all concede that there's no "God" and no "Life after Death". When a man and his dog eventually die they're both equally and permanently Dead. Over and out. Enjoy life on Earth to the full - it's all you're going to get.

I’ve always asked why not become Jewish rather than Christian if your preference is an Abrahamic religion (or a choice between the two.) It seems to me that would be closer to the source and understanding of God because it was the first. I understand new and old covenant explanations but it doesn’t pass the test in my opinion especially since Rabbi can easily poke holes in the Christian narrative. I really don’t have a dog in this fight…just and observation.

I am aware there are different translations which are updates on the early translations. Also the scriptures have been translated into other languages which makes it difficult to get 100% accuracy when compared to the original texts. If we all spoke Hebrew then why would there be any variants? Same goes for Greek & Aramiac.

The trinity is all over the New Testament. Eg the Baptism of Jesus The spirit alighted on Jesus like a Dove and a voice from heaven said "This is my beloved son with whom I am well pleased." But you also have it in Genesis 1. In the beginning Elohim plural (3 or more) made the heaven and the earth and the spirit of God hovered over the waters. And Elohim said let us make man in our image..." Who is the us? There is the Trinity right there. Jesus deity is all over the gospels. EG Matthew 26:63,64 "The high priest said to him, “I charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.” “You have said so,” Jesus replied. “But I say to all of you: From now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven." This is a clear reference to Daniel 7:13 which the high priest knew and immediately accused Jesus of blasphemy. WE don't need 1 John 5:7,8 to show the Trinity in the Bible. Rabbi Singer needs to explain Genesis 1. The Trinity is all over the Bible.

Matthew 1:23 is worded correctly in the Hebrew as opposed to the Greek copies.
That is possible. We don’t truly know because the earliest manuscript of the NT is dated 220 CE. The earliest complete copy (Greek) of the NT is 9th century CE. The earliest collection of the NT canon was late 4th century. Plenty of time to corrupt the text and insert Roman dogma into it. I disagree with Singer’s method because he is not a scholar. I am a scholar (not trained in university), but have reviewed many manuscripts and learned textual criticism. Not a pro at it, but I know when people make claims that cannot be backed up. I know that Pharisee scribes had no authority to copy the Scriptures. Only Levites had the authority. Ancient Hebrew texts show the modern Pharisee 9th century CE text is corrupt.

They are both buried in Fort Logan National Military cemetery here in Denver, Colorado. The first time I heard of Christian Jews was when I read "The Disciplines of the Christian Life" by Eric Liddell. His character was in the movie "Chariots of Fire." Then when I went to the cemetery, I say many headstones with the Magen David and right in the center of the Magen David is a cross. So, I would think those Veterans were Christian Jews. I'm not a Christian though I'm just a Jew. The reason I ask this is because I saw one of your videos and in the background was a seven light menorah. I was brought up to believe that is a Christian menorah. You make sense in what you say. I'm amazed of your memory. Have you written a Sefer Torah?
Hello fellow Denverite! The Rabbi is Jewish, there’s no such thing as a “Christian Jew” or a “Jewish Christian”. They refer to themselves as “Messianic Jews” but you would be hard pressed to find many ethnically Jewish people among them. Most of them are white, evangelical Christian’s cosplaying as Jews. They use Jewish symbols, liturgy, terms and practices to both lure in Jews who aren’t educated properly in Judaism for conversion, and also to make their evangelicalism “special”. Their Magen David with the cross and the symbol of the menorah with the Magen and fish are symbols of “messianics”. Rabbi has tons of videos on them, mostly referring to them as Jews4Jesus (the largest group of these types)

I do challenge my Christian friends about Marks narrative concerning who Jesus said he really was in the gospel of Mark and gospel according to Mark being the first written gospel.
Nobody in Marks gospel knew who Jesus really was. Jesus parents thought he was crazy, the Jewish leaders thought he was possessed by demons. His disciples too (Peter) can’t really figure out who Jesus really was. Mark and the readers of his book (those who read Marks gospel) are the only people who knew whom Jesus really was.
Mark in his account showed how he became the first person to figure out and the first to know who Jesus was. He made the public know how Jesus became the son of god at his baptism (when he was baptised by John the Baptist). After Jesus baptism, the heaven opened and God said “That in him (Jesus) he was pleased”. Means god adopted Jesus at his baptism. Nowhere in the gospel of Mark did Jesus said he was god. Their is no Virgin birth account in Mark.
However, in Mathew and Luke’s gospels, you can find Jesus birth. How Jesus became the son of god at his (Jesus) conception when the spirit of god made Mary pregnant. Jesus became the son of god at his birth.
Also, nowhere in the gospel of Matthew and Luke did Jesus called himself god. If these were the earliest tradition and stories being written and spread around about Jesus, how come John could say Jesus is god in is own account.
In gospel of John, John gave us that Jesus was a preexisting being. He wasn’t the son of god but he was already god at the beginning. That at the beginning Jesus was the word and the word was with god. That Jesus was god and equal to god the almighty.
How can god be god and Jesus be god. Won’t that be two gods? And if you throw the Holy Ghost in the middle of it, won’t that be equal to three gods? If Jesus was really god, won’t that be the most important thing to write about in the earliest gospels?
