First, what is Ringworm? Ringworm is a fungal condition which affects the skin and produces a rash. Ringworm is infectious. It begins when the fungus Tinea grows on the skin. It may be transmitted by people, animals, or even exposure to damp surfaces. Ringworm is not caught by worms. It is a rash in circular form.
What are the symptoms of Ringworm? First, you'll need to identify if the rash is Ringworm. Check the appearance: Is it itchy, scaly, raised; blistering or oozing; or red and circular? Is the area of the skin raised and defined from the rest of the skin? Ringworm in the nails may be cracked and thicker or have discolored nail beds. If it doesn't go away it may be a different condition or lack of treatment. How is it cured? Is there a home remedy?
The Tinea fungus can apply to all the following conditions: Tinea Capitis, or scalp ringworm, which appears as small sores on the scalp. Tinea Corporosis, the ring-like condition that appears anywhere on the skin. Tinea Cruris, jock itch, is primarily around the groin and buttocks area. Tinea Pedis, athlete’s foot, caused by exposure of the feet to damp areas.
To lessen the healing time be sure to avoid any damp areas. Improper cleaning and hygiene can be a cause of why it won't go away. Reoccurrence can occur by using infected items which haven't been decontaminated A fungus can live on items for a long time. Clear it overnight on face, arm, leg, and neck.
Failure to treat the ringworm can also result in the condition not going away. One area may be receiving treatment while the other area is not. Take the broadest possible form of medication if you repeatedly contract it. See a doctor if the over-the-counter (OTC) medication is not working. The doctor will prescribe the best course of medication, such as: Topical: antifungal lotions, creams, gels, sprays. Which can be purchase OTC. Or stronger antifungal cream, such as: Terbinafine, Clotrimazole, or Miconazole. In extreme cases prescribed topical medication may not be enough.
If the topical medication doesn't work be sure to tell your doctor. It's likely you'll receive oral antifungal medication which is much stronger.
How can I prevent Ringworm? Wash bedding and clothes which come in contact, keep skin clean and dry, wash clothes and towels after bathing, avoid scratching, disinfect home and avoid physical contact and never share any hygiene or clothes with anyone.

Been looking for a place to write this, well the cat had ringworm and we finally got rid of it. It totally disapeared two days ago so i hope it dont come back but i gave him apple cider vinegar(tspn) in his water(small/med bowl) and he'd drink it a few times a day everyday for about 13-15 days and everyday it slowly got smaller till it disappeared.

Sometimes ringworm is extremely resistant to even prescription medicine. I had it for 9 months from the gym. I tried oils like tea tree n coconut but it just caused it to spread. Even Ketoconazole prescription by itself and it barley did anything. So after trying a bunch of things I started using defense ringworm soap from Amazon, I take a shower every night and sit with the soap on my skin for 10~15 minutes then rinse off, afterwards I put on Paula’s choice BHA 2% liquid exfoliant that’s a leave on treatment to remove dead skin layer which is where the fungi live feed and grow so doing this helps to remove those layers they inbed and hide themselves in which is very important, then I place Ketoconazole anti fungal cream from my doctor on top of the exfoliant and leave that on also. It is killing them and drying out their environment while also removing the dark marks they leave behind due to the exfoliant removing those dead skin layers. Takes about a few months but these 3 things together are an extremely winning combo against resistant fungi!! Hope this helps those who are so tired of it♥️ must be consistent though and do this everyday until there is no sign of it left so at least 6~8 weeks, n more for stubborn ones.. Also stay as dry as possible fungi love humidity and sweat! Do not spread towel all over body! Fold into sections after each body part~so like wrap around upper body, fold in half then use opposite side for leg then fold that again n use other part for other legs! They hitch a ride on the cloth to other body parts :(

@@lilmeowmeow9283 your welcome ☺️ I have an update to it all with a few slight changes that works greater than the above. I’ll share it:
1)I get in the shower and use a soap I got on Amazon called Defense Antifungal soap and leave it on for about ten minutes then rinse off.
2)I dry off with a towel but use different parts front and back of the towel for different body parts so it doesn’t spread it.
I then put on Paula’s Choice BHA liquid exfoliant, and leave it on my skin.
3)Then (I stopped using prescription Ketoconazole because it didn’t work in a way that got rid of the ringworm completely n was getting expensive) I found and used this amazing cream from Amazon called RoyceDerm fast healing antifungal cream it really made them disappear so fast when I added this to my routine!
4)I then took the Defense soap and put a tiny bit of water on it to soften it if needed, and took my fingernail and scraped thin layers off to cover each one of the ringworms, (I put this on top of the RoyceDerm cream) as soon as I got the layer I’d put it on and then scrape n repeat for the other ones, and just leave it on.
5)I then put on loose thin pants n long sleeve shirt and used a blow dryer or heater to dry the creams n soap into my skin.
I did this until I seen it was completely gone, and did it for an additional week after healing cause it’s Better to be safe than sorry. With this exact treatment it took about 4/5 weeks to heal really resistant ringworms I had for over a year that prescriptions n oils ect. We’re doing nothing to kill it.
I hope it works for you if you try, you just have to stay consistent and don’t miss a day. Do the above once a day every night until it’s gone, and an additional week after. I would also just spot treated with Royce derm in the morning so it was being used twice a day.
Now once or twice a week I’ll still use the soap in the shower with a quick rinse off(no longer leave on 10 min) and put the BHA on n RD antifungal cream on just to do a good deep clean to my body, and as a safety precaution for the future.
I got a lot of comfort to read that I am not alone with this crazy situation, if I have it. I will keep going to the Dr. to see if I was misdiagnosed. I never touched pets because I didn't think they were clean enough. I never owned a pet . I am going to try some of the suggestions offered. Thanks guys.

you have to follow instructions of the medication, dont stop treatment right when its gone superficially, rather keep treating it atleast a week or two to eliminate every rest of the fungus

Two months ago I had a rather noticeable one my leg and thought it wasn’t bad at first but it just wouldn’t go away. I eventually grew another noticeable ringworm on my arm as well and my body began to itch daily. I started to panic so I did research and had found something that managed to work for me. I will share if anyone else finds this as useful as I did.
1. I had picked up Lotrimin dotrimazole cream and began washing my spots and applying the cream twice a day (morning and night), carefully covering them with bandaids every night before I go to bed.
2. I began to wash my bed sheets every other day (honestly hated that part).
Today, the ringworm on my arm is gone and the large one on my leg is almost completely gone and I no longer itch like before (hardest part was resisting the scratching). It wouldn’t go away unless I was consistent with this procedure. It took a while but I can for sure say it was all worth it.

Good advice!. It actually has three major vectors: animals (cats, dogs, livestock, etc); humans & soil. Some humans/animals are just "carriers" who pass it on without showing symptoms while others get the full blown gamut of rash, itching, inflammation & lymphadenopathy. And there are TONS of strains, some of which prefer to afflict inner city populations while others have an affinity for rural whites with lots of cats, dogs & farm animals. Clear as mud? ;)

White vinegar is the best in my long fight against ring worm anywhere in the body and the safest to use. Just don’t get it in the eyes.Apple vinegar or wine vinegar is not as effective as the white cheap vinegar.

I had ringworm infection 3years ago, alote of stuff chemical and natural worked reducing it a little and i always stops cuz its literally so hard to keep doing it with depression and other mental illness!! Putting rubbing alcohol on it 3x a day might help, but try to avoid scratching it because that’ll make it worse. Also if you scratch it make sure to wash your hands right after to avoid it from spreading.

Yep. 2 on my hand and also on 2 fingers. I’ve used 3 different creams in the past 6 months. Finally went to my doctor a few days ago. She prescribed another cream. 🙄 It doesn’t even alleviate the itching and stinging like the other creams did! I wanted a pill, but she wouldn’t prescribe it. I’m so annoyed.

I underestimated the spreading power of ringworm infection initially I felt it as candidiasis started with clotrinazole ointment and tablet fluconazole weekly for three weeks it cleared and I was happy I stopped putting ointment and oral medication then it reappeared on my left arm elbow and left thumb... My parents also got this infection we got it from my two kittens which were infected and also inspected the soil we get as a cat litter... The cat litter has the fungal infection... So now we are on Iatraconaxole 200 mg BD and clotrimazole BD... Now let's see how long it takes to clear this itchy dirty awful stubborn infection... My poor innocent kitties got recovered from it in a month now we have been suffering from it from last one month... Especially me...

My friend was told at haircutters he had ringworm ,but Dr. said it was cradle cap, not contagious. I started to itch immediately at hair cutters because I held his hands because he uses a cane. I got rid of ringworm! Ok it never really went away, my cats still have it, but it's not as hard on us now. Mostly have cleared up. I got a lot of the ointments and that's what I used, also I washed up and plucked the ringworm off my cats so it'll heal up and the spores won't stay. It made me super stressed and go on a slump, and I still am on that inevitable, depressed slump, but hey, it fades. It's a hard time to get your crap together and organize, I tell ya.

Hydrozole 1 and 1 + Lamisil cream eliminated my fungal infection.. My Dermatologist prescribed these creams. It took almost 3 weeks but now tinea corporis is completely gone. Take bath daily, wear loose clothes, keep yourself dry and iron your clothes before you wear them. Apply medication properly... Hope it helps.

@@1xq015 applying creams is Essential.. without these creams your fungus will spread. Mine spread like fire in the jungle.. Just keep applying to stop its growth, otherwise it will spread on other parts of body and to other people as it's highly contagious.. if you stop applying medication it will regrow. So keep applying till it is eliminated completely.. keep checking for growth of new red spots.. and apply medication on them as well

We rescued two stray kittens from the wet november last year and unfortunately brought ringworms to four kids at home.. I bought over the counter creams and three kids were healed but one.. Whats bothersome is it is in face.. I tried four different creams already and it will come back bigger, i have been putting cream since last march and its still there.
Now i tried a different approach, someone told me aloe vera can treat ringworms.. So washed the area with soap and water and pat it dry then apply fresh aloe vera directly to the ringworm ( 3x a day) I noticed the area is now dry but still reddish but it looks like its getting smaller though

My daughter got traumatized with the ringworm :-{ . it healed quickly but i never stopped putting aloe until the third week.. i learned that ringworms loved wet places and my daughter happens to sweat much so that explains why it won't left her face..

To all the people who are suffering from scalp ringworm like myself, I do have some tips that can prevent the spread and speed up the healing process. Now it's a bit more easy to explain for guys because women aren't known for shaving their heads but some people are willing to so let me explain. Ringworm doesn't just spread through contact with infected objects or people. It can be from washing your hair and not drying the scalp properly. Fungi love damp environments. So I'm gonna list some things that will speed up the healing process of scalp ringworm;
Shampoo (Preferably Nizoral Ketoconazole 2%)(You need to keep the area clean and honestly I shouldn't have to tell you this it's basic hygiene to use shampoo and the reason I say Nizoral Ketoconazole 2% specifically is because it will stop the spread of the infection due to it literally being made for the purpose of killing fungus but it's not made to cure ringworm which is why I say it will stop the spread of the fungus but not cure it)
Blow Dryer (It's easier to use and will dry your hair quicker than your towel which you shouldn't be using in the first place because the infection will catch on to your towel and you'll just be washing it more than you need to)
Apple Cider Vinegar/Tea Tree Oil (I cannot stress this enough. This will help you so much. Apple Cider Vinegar will kill the fungus due to the acid that it contains. And Tea Tree Oil has antifungal properties but I don't know what exactly it is inside of it that gives it it's antifungal properties but it's been proven by scientists to have antifungal properties)
Daktarin (This is the last one for a reason. Good news, it's a cream that will get rid of ringworm but you have to be consistent while using it. Bad news, you're gonna have to cut all your hair off to apply it if the infection is all over your scalp. Unless you like your hair cut completely off then you're good but yeah. This is the cream I usually get. While there are other creams you can use, this is my go to choice because it works well on my scalp and it was what the pharmacist first recommended when she saw it)
Old Shirts (It sounds silly but you don't want the ringworm to spread onto your pillowcases when you're sleeping or just laying down in general)
Now I'm gonna be explaining how to use these in order. I know I'm writing up a whole essay but it's to help you.
First of all for the Nizoral Ketoconazole 2%, you're gonna wanna wash your hair and apply the shampoo throughout your whole scalp and leave it for about 10 minutes. Rinse it out and condition your hair (conditioning isn't a part of the treatment it's just so your hair doesn't get dry) and rinse that out obviously. Next, you're gonna wanna use the Blow Dryer. It will dry your hair and your scalp. Just run the Blow Dryer over your head for about 10 minutes just to assure that the infected area is dry. And even if you have cut off all your hair you should still use the Blow Dryer because you don't want your towel getting infected as I said. After that, we got the Apple Cider Vinegar/Tea Tree Oil. These are kind of like an alternative to the Daktarin because it's not medicated and won't treat it as well as the Daktarin will. And keep in mind, please clean the infected area before you apply these. Just basic common sense honestly. Now you don't actually need to use both it's just that both of them can do the exact same thing. Apple Cider Vinegar might do it a bit better because of it's acid. And Tea Tree Oil might be better because it won't make your head smell and it will still treat it. but if you have both of these that's even better. To apply the Apple Cider Vinegar just get a cotton ball and soak it in the Apple Cider Vinegar the brush it all over the infected area, you're gonna wanna do that 3 times a day. For the Tea Tree Oil just do the same thing but don't put too much on the cotton ball because Tea Tree Oil is pretty rich and you don't need too much of it. For the Daktarin, it's literally a cream, that's self explanatory and the only thing you really need to know is that it's the only thing that will kill the fungus with guarantee you just have to be consistent and trust the process. And quick note, don't wash your hair every single day, but rather twice a week. The Apple Cider Vinegar/Tea Tree Oil and Daktarin should still be applied 3 times a day and should not be added according to when you washed your hair. It's not a routine it's treatment.
Anyway that'll conclude my incredibly long essay on treating ringworm since this video clearly didn't do it too well. Hope you guys' treatment is successful. Good Luck.

Hi Amanda, I've read that many people have tried this home technique and has worked for them... Wash the affected area nicely and pat dry.. Dab cotton with white vinegar and apply to the areas affected..thrice a day.. Make sure during the process.. You at least wash your current bed sheets and towels... For better solution

I have had ringworm since 2014 and I can not get rid of it. I won’t get it for months and then I randomly get it. I went to the doctor how many times and they keep prescribing me creams and it will go away I put it on 2-3 times a day for about 2-3 weeks and after it’s gone I keep putting it on the area but like I said it keeps coming back. This may be true. I been abusing alcohol for a year and that's how long I've had this shit on my chest and middle of my back. Gonna see the doc this week and ask if alcohols consumption is triggering this. I will also detox from alcohol to see if it helps. May even detox by fasting a few days. A year with this shit and I've tried everything I've read about. Only thing that worked was the pill my doc gave me it cleared up but came back several weeks later

Welp this didn’t help 😭 I was looking on ways to get rid of the shit not what I already know
Sometimes ringworm is extremely resistant to even prescription medicine. I had it for 9 months from the gym. I tried oils like tea tree n coconut but it just caused it to spread. Even Ketoconazole prescription by itself and it barley did anything. So after trying a bunch of things I started using defense ringworm soap from Amazon, I take a shower every night and sit with the soap on my skin for 10~15 minutes then rinse off, afterwards I put on Paula’s choice BHA 2% liquid exfoliant that’s a leave on treatment to remove dead skin layer which is where the fungi live feed and grow so doing this helps to remove those layers they inbed and hide themselves in which is very important, then I place Ketoconazole anti fungal cream from my doctor on top of the exfoliant and leave that on also. It is killing them and drying out their environment while also removing the dark marks they leave behind due to the exfoliant removing those dead skin layers. Takes about a few months but these 3 things together are an extremely winning combo against resistant fungi!! Hope this helps those who are so tired of it♥️ must be consistent though and do this everyday until there is no sign of it left so at least 6~8 weeks, n more for stubborn ones.. Also stay as dry as possible fungi love humidity and sweat! Do not spread towel all over body! Fold into sections after each body part~so like wrap around upper body, fold in half then use opposite side for leg then fold that again n use other part for other legs! They hitch a ride on the cloth to other body parts :(
