    This is a beautiful engine that block is a work of art. O wish i had the scratch to snap one up and toss it in my 95, i know theres people saying 361? Thats slack but 361hp with a "mild" cam means this thing would eould feel pretty stout on the street and be night and day, stripped down on the dyno gross HP from a factory 5.0HO is closer to 250hp so thats over 100hp more thats significant and with a bigger cam probably could get closer to 400hp. I would think with this engine you would want to either run gt40 or aftermarket intake bigger throttlebody and aftermarket headers the stock HO parts would choke this engine TQ would be killer but that 361hp would be a fantasy.

      A cast crank does it matter?

    • @95Sn95
      @95Sn95 Před měsícem +3

      Yeah I get the mindset that much money and cast pistons??? but This day n age a cast piston and cast cranks isn't the same cast parts from back in the day. Hell people are getting 1000hp from cast rotating assemblys all the time so why would you even want forged pistons unless you're using a power adder? They are trying to sell a rock solid engine that will last for years and years of trouble free operation and using a hypereutectic piston is a no brainier, they are quieter and cause way less cylinder wear than forged, besides it would just end up adding to the cost of the engine. Its a 360hp street engine using forged pistons would be pointless and a bad idea and if you plan on using a power adder this isn't the type of engine you should be looking at even tho I'm sure you could use one within reason. But also down the road if you want to build a fire breather this is one killer foundation having an aftermarket block and heads that could prob flow pretty killer with some porting. That block is beautiful imo and you are way ahead of the game with it over the factory block thats definitely has a limit they say 500hp but that's not true it's more of a TQ limit like failure from building insane TQ with boost.

    • @-_JayR_-
      @-_JayR_- Před měsícem

      This setup is more for low budget people and those who are less knowledgeable on building cars/engine. I doubt having forged pistons would be a selling point to those kinds of people, because they probably aren't turboing, or heavily modifying it anyways.

    Blueprint website says the timing cover is for standard rotation water pumps only. Won't putting a reverse rotation, like the foxbody, cause cooling issues?

    • @latemodelrestoration
      @latemodelrestoration  Před 25 dny +1

      No. That's a confusing fitment note. The current reverse rotation water pumps that are available have a separator plate with circular holes instead of holes designed for a specific rotation. You can see what I'm talking about by clicking the link to the Motorcraft water pump below. We have one of these engines in one of our cars with a reverse rotation water pump. I noticed that BluePrint doesn't list blocks on their website. I'm guessing there's a tremendous market for people who want a new block but don't need the expense or extra weight of a Ford Racing or Dart offering. How about it LMR? Can you convince BluePrint to sell bare blocks?
