Beard jack&Victor didn't take from their pension it was a funeral plan.they could get a cheap funeral they realised for£750 they had saved about £1050 so they fritted away the difference.

So fun fact about that windae song they keep singing; apparently it's a reference to a poem / tune that was sung in parts of Scotland when they started building highrise council estates.
I don't know the full lyrics, but it refers to something like throwing shit out the windows onto the people below.

'Own Brands' are sort of 'generic' versions of branded foods that supermarkets make themselves really cheap, but they are pretty much the same thing as the branded versions.

Jack & Victor's right, although now you can go for a no frills Cremation costs around £900-£1k-ish.
I think I'll go for that, no flowers, no herse and cars for the family and no Vicar getting my name wrong after a 30 minute chat with the family. For example my Uncle was called Clive, by the time the Vicar was done he was called Clifford and he was supposed to be a keen angler (he went once never again), no thanks.
Although, my cousin's reaction was great when we got back to my Aunt's house, "Clifford?! Who the F**K's CLIFFORD? 🤣!"

Own brand is super cheap groceries from supermarkets, usually viewed as lesser or poor quality, it's actually not though as the reason its cheap is due to it not being packed full of unnecessary additives etc, you're also not paying more just cause it has fancy packaging. I live on the stuff!.

The 6% I believe would be monthly. There always used to be monthly interest on a credit card debt I had.
He's charging it weekly, so although not a loan shark as such, he's still making out on the poor, unsuspecting soles that didn't think of the interest.
