Don’t ever apologize for being emotional. My husband travels often for work and it suck’s big time. It can be a week to two months . He has a hard time as well and doesn’t want to go out to sightsee as we aren’t with him.
@@rigobertoespinoza1685💪💪 LTL is where the money is at, try commenting it to this guy. But ignore, he will one day find out he can make good bread & not feel obligated to stay loyal to uncle that gave him his opportunity. I understand he gave him his first opportunity, but he will figure it one day their is better opportunities out here.
I'm a Volvo/Mack technician and a lot of drivers like those trucks, they are very comfortable and smooth specially the shifting of the transmission but when they start giving you problems it gets very expensive very quick
NEVER apologize for being honest with your feelings, man, and likewise no one can (or should) judge you for that. It's such a breathe of fresh air that you included that, you're awesome!
Just want to let you know bro u inspired me to take away my fear in being a truck driver because your motivation and the power of god i will be starting trucking school next month thank you brother safe travels and hope to see u out there one day ❤💪🏾💯
Thank you for putting the emotions in this video. Im over the road 40+ days at a time with a wife and 3 son's and its really hard man. You dont see a lot of other people sharing this side of the industry.
My first truck was a t680 and loved it , now I’m with a small fleet out of Illinois and all they have are Volvos , I must admit they are very dependable and smooth ride .
I'm working on getting my CDL, and I hope to get a local driving job. I would hate to leave my family, but I would do it if I had to. Head up, brother, and know your family loves you and appreciates you!
@gersonm2384 I currently work for a company that hauls fuel and oil to drilling rigs so hopefully they'll give me a chance to continue to work for them as a local driver.
Hey man, my dad was an overnight dump truck driver for asphalt pouring when I was a kid. I never got to see him because it was nights, but he did it to buy his first house as a single dad and raise two kids with decent success. Trust me from experience, your kids get just as emotional missing you but one day they’ll understand what it’s all about. Your son especially rocks! What good little dude.
I felt like that 3 years ago when i was driving, OTR in my Sprinter. Now I'm getting my cdl permit soon and upgrading to the semi truck. The road can be very, very lonely, but I always call FaceTime and let them know that I'm doing ok. Love your videos, Alex. Stay safe out there, my friend 👍 Vamonos 😊
That bit that you included a more raw perspective of the job is something I loved bro! I don’t have a wife or children but being on the road just empty thoughts mainly because I drive at night is something I can relate to. Not knowing the direction I’m heading in life or what’s out there for me, or thinking if I’m making time for friends and family. I hope that when you have moments like this, you include them because it makes me feel like I’m not alone in having these thoughts! Much love to you and all the truckers that can relate. 🫶🏽
The drivers door handle is broken, it does stay forward to lock if I am not mistaken, but when you pull it back to open it should spring back to the center.
Lots of room in the Volvo. Thanks for showing us how important checking under the trailer for solid connectivity matters 😀👍🏾! Idk. The lady may just have needed a ride. But, if you’re not allowed to its best not to do so. Missing your family while you’re on the road is very normal Alex👍🏾. You’re making a sacrifice to provide for their well being👍🏾.
You got good intuitions about situations don’t ignore them, i can relate to those feelings they help you through life. Enjoy your videos keep it safe bro.
Now I am freaking because everyone knows where your key is. 😂stay safe. I enjoy your videos, my husband still has his CDL but has a different job where he doesn’t have to drive and is 15 minutes from home. 😊
Man you're lucky to have an uncle who is in this business and u can work for him instead of a company I'm in truck driving school right now and it's bitter sweet for me because I'm glad I'm getting ready to start a career but I know it's gone be a bumpy road ahead until I can find a good company to work for or until I'm able to buy my own truck
Congratulations Brother and don’t apologise to be emotional ❤ And dreams really come true if you are ready for the hardwork one day you will get your dream truck
Being away is hard my brother i missed fathers day and im going to miss 4th of july but i do FaceTime them every chance i get the little things go along way keep trucking and faith in god and itll all work out
Glad you showed emotions, cut as men people think we don't have emotions and stuff so props bro, do your thing and I would just get a dam key made so you do have to worry about getting locked out your truck.
Don’t feel bad Alex we all get emotional sometimes but I give you all the respect you deserve cuz I walked away from trucking for that same reason so much respect for you primo
Sometimes you luck out with rentals, last time I rented a car sight unseen it was a freaking Dodge Charger!!! Loved driving that car, now I want to get one of my own.
I’m a logger in Maine I have my CDL but I don’t drive truck full time I run my tigercat feller buncher but we haul 115,000 pound loads 80,000 is what one of our small machines weigh then as the weight of the truck we haul heavy!!!
My first time in a Volvo was in 2017 and it was a 2014 surprised me a lot it was a ten speed with a siries 60 motor 500 horsepower. I think you are going to like it you I’ll see
Well i already know it's volvo from the thumbnail i can kinda see the front grill of it i see to many volvo's on the road so i always remember the shape of it
Went through that recently came off of a 2month break and hated my last week had to act tough in front of my girl so I wouldn’t miss her as much, yeah I was at that point mentally

That bad vibe you got from the lady was the Holy Spirit warning you. Praise God for keeping you safe, brother.
Yes bro that lady was probably Satan. He needs to get Close to Christ

Always trust your instincts! You handled that situation well.
if you go into the settings on the steering wheel, it has all kinda of pre-trip assists which are pretty badass. i drive these volvos for work
How so is it like fluid sensors? I can't imagine it will tell you your passenger side rear drive has less than 1/4" of drum lining remaining.
Needed this video, was feeling exactly how you were right now sitting at a truck stop, thinking if this is even worth it. Keep your head up
If you have the ability to make comparable money any other way that keeps you home trucking is not worth it.

Quick tip: I also drive a vnl760, if you just pull the parking brake the truck will automatically put itself in neutral
Volvo trucks are some of the best in the world in terms of safety and comfortability. You'll love it!
Be careful out there Alex, people are so slick with crap. Glad you didn't get stuck with a Freightliner or a Kenworth

Just a tip you don’t have to press the N all the time once you pull your brake it does it for you
