- This guitar was destined to be exhibited in Berlin in May 2020 at the the Holy Grail Guitar Show. Made with a European Spruce soundboard, reclaimed Rippled Ash back and sides and a reclaimed mahogany neck.
Ben Walker performs his arrangement of 'Sí Bheag Sí Mhór'. Tuning is DADGAD capo 3rd.

I have played and heard many versions and treatments of this wonderful tune. I am completely in awe of this version and performance by Ben Walker. A-mazing. As heartfelt as Pete Huttlinger's performance, and that is saying a lot. I love the minor chords toward the end, the gentle and sad walkdown. Beautiful. I am sure Pete would give you a gentle salute. Well done!

The Big Fairy Hill, the Little Fairy Hill - and the tiny magical guitar. What an otherworldly instrument!
Great playing and a gorgeous tone on that guitar. There are some other great guitar versions of this old harp piece out there, notably Steve Cooney and Peter Blanchette, and this one is up there with them. But you've got the title back-to-front: it's the little (bheag) fairy hill and the big (mhor) fairy hill. Pedant? Moi? Anyway I really enjoyed this clip. Best wishes.

Its a gorgeous tune and a number of amazing guitarists have arranged and played this. To my ears, this is one of the best versions out there and has a few lovely twists to it. Mind you, Ben is up there with the best of them.
Wow, that is the most innovative and sensitive arrangement of this that I have ever heard. Faithful to the original but then Ben takes it to some wondrous places. Thank you for posting.

With so many performances and arrangements of this classic on guitar, this one is certainly among the best I recall. Delicate passages and bold harmonies, quite unusual...
Never heard of Ben Walker, a good guitarist, in my opinion, and I just can't wait to hear his album "Echo" on Bandcamp.
Regarding the guitar, from what I could get (listened two times, one with headphones...) I find it fabulous on treble and middle range, with a dramatic resonance. It might be a bit contained on bass, to my personal taste (strings could also have something to do with it...)
