I'm about to do this for a few windows. landlord won't replace/service the ac unit here. it's only early June and I struggle to get to 76 in the evenings.
I want to do this but sandwich it with some paper board. White, or other color I'm not sure of yet. That way it doesn't immediately look like I'm crazy. I could use paper blinds I guess.
I mean it works but it ain't pretty, you could buy some cloth and maybe put it inside so it doesn't look like you just taped some foil and called it a day.
@@emmittvalencia7645 I use it year round since I'm really sensitive to sunlight and it's never had an issue, not saying it can't happen I just haven't experienced it. I would assume its because i usually have a fan going in my room and aluminum is great at dissipating the heat.
It's easier to attach the foil to the glass if you spray the glass with water first.

The foil can be easily torn if not glued to the window, so you'll have to keep patching it.

Been using this method for years with no issues
@@MrTarfu it happens when ur in a cold climate and the foil is receiving heavy amounts of heat/sun. very rare to happen on a hot on hot climate
