- We have unboxed the Sharkset front suspension. Today I take you through how to install your new suspension.
This turned out to be as easy as installing the fork suspension. The hardest part you have to deal with installing the wiring for the RGB.
If you own a German controller, please note that you will have to rewire the connector that goes into the controller by changing around the black and red cable. This is because the polarity is swapped.

Don’t be worried about the RGB installation. Once you get everything in order it’s super simple :).

Hey mate, just a quick one with aligning the hub cover for the brakes.. how did you get rhe cover off of the wheel assembly?

About that the extra bit of cable with a plug that you tucked away inside the neck isn't seen again for the rest of the installation.
You mentioned that we don't need that yet, but what is it really for?
It is for a next project from the Ninebot...! They want to add some lights on the sidewayS of the board...so they think in advance, and added another cable!

First result on the road for me was fine, no strange noises during rides, didn’t feel bumpy at all. In case you need more suspension you can just switch the springs to heavier ones ( 3 levels delivered and normally soft ones are already good till around 95/100kilo )
I managed to get it out for a test today and it sounds good on the road. You don’t bottom out much unless you are hitting every curb.
But even then the sound isn’t really a thing. I also found turning the springs a little helps. As they tend to wanna flex a certain way and the sound you heard in the video was them against the plate at the bottom where it sits.
So I just turned 180 degrees.
I will have a review out once I’ve had a good play :).

It comes with the RGB in the kit. And you desire if you want to install that on there or not
Hey bud! Hope all is well, im going to be purchasing this shock as soon as I return my Monorim V3 (worst suspension). However I feel I got the stem bolt screw mismatched while installing the Monorim shock. Does this shock come with a new stem screw? If not is there anyway I can buy that one screw?

I have the Monorim V3 and installation was a pain and no matter what rings i used thre is still a slight wobble. Hoping this shark set is better

I think if your going to have front suspension. You may as well have the rear. It makes a difference. When you come off a curb or over really bad holes or drains without you still get that shock on the back
I’m having trouble taking the wheel nuts off, its very tight and doesn't loosen with the deep socket, 15mm that I have. The video is very quick at this part and I cant get anywhere. any help? I will have to buy vice grips I guess.
If it's your first time taking the wheel off, there is a lot of gunk holding it tight. Get someone to hold the scooter steady and put some weight into to taking it off.
Did you have to use a spacer on the none brake side of the wheel?

does it save your rgb setting when shutting the sooter off and on?
I found that mine comes back on to the setting I left it on. However, I’m not sure if you have the German variant that it would be the same
I think my Sharkset stem came with the wrong screw hole at the top.
It's facing the front instead of the right side :(

I believe this crew is not really necessary. But if it does bother you, please contact the retailer you bought the set from.

What was wrong with the first suspension kit you had installed ?
Nothing wrong really, just wanted this one for better looks and features. Also Sharkset is more comfortable.

I want to install my shark set right now. and have installed a monorim mx1 for 2 weeks. My question is whether I can get my original oring up and down on the Shark again Have to take the handlebar?
Sry my Englisch Do you understand what I mean ? Monorim supplies this aluminum ring for the top instead of the original course material ring. Do I need the originals at shark?

you should use original Ninebot's O rings (stack rings).
How does this feel with just a front suspension? I thought it was two but it’s a different brand on the back. Is it good with just one front suspension?
The front end feels awesome. I know different brands make a difference. The back could use some tweaking. However. It’s better then no suspension

Where did you buy it from? If aliexpress this could take a few weeks to around a month. But be prepared to wait longer as of the border issues
If Sharkset I got mine in less than a week.
My no.1 question is, why do Xiaomi, Ninebot or whatever don't roll out scooters with suspension in stock?
Keeps cost down. They mass produce and it’s just one more part to add complexity and cost
@@ScootLetsGo True. Yet I went for a more expensive one after having Xiaomi (no stock suspension) since it had shock absorbers in stock.

What that blue blinking indicator on the battery means?
This is the bms. I believe it indicates all is normal with the battery

I’m not fully sure. But I think it’s around 5v as most LEDs need that to work.
But current is around 700mah

Hi, I installed it and I have a little play on the stem which caused it to move back and forth. Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this please?
Have you tightened down the centre screw enough?
Maybe use threadlocker too to help
@@ScootLetsGo The issue seemed to come from this, yes. I screwed it with the scooter in height. By putting the wheel on the ground to raise the suspension and by screwing the central axle back, there is almost no more play. Thank you for your quick answers 👍

@@jmm03256 well sort of. My original motherboard broke and the new one I got has a connector but I have broken the led connector trying to fit it in the rear light connector

You can. There’s no need to install the LED’s

shame it doesnt have much of a mudguard and rear suspension too
Yeah the rear suspension mudguard, needs a little more, but it's cheap. You can always fashion something to extend it. :)
The mudguard seems far too high and small to provide effective protection against water and mud splashes.
That front part of the mudguard is mainly for styling. But it does help. I’ve had it out with a little rain and it does keep the water off my feet.
@@ScootLetsGo This is a point that should be made known to your listeners during your evaluation. You don't seem to compromise in your tests and I hope it will continue for the following ones because that's what I like about your channel.

It’s still early days and there is much to be learned.
The only real issue I see, is with this setup's lack of a usable front fender.
The designer of this unit gave very little attention or effort in the designing of a competent front fender that would provide approximately the same level of splash protection as the original.
Other than this, the Sharkset does appear to rock.
I am driving this suspension now 2 days and in very rainy and snowy weather and I can tell you I had not 1 single splash on me ! So the front fender is working perfect !

I can confirm. Front fender is working perfectly in regards to splashes. One remark about the top of the fender is that the plastic breaks easily. It's very stiff but it breaks fast. Mr Loctite to the rescue.
