  • This is a behind the scene tour of California's Great America owned by cedar Fair. We started out down the center service road which led us under vortex and along were Greased Lightnin' used to be. From there we passed the Employee cafe and numerous other building. After that we were in the main area outside the park were most of the shops were as well as the admin, HR, and hiring buildings. From there we worked up the service road passing the lake that holds the water for the raft ride and continued up to Flight deck. After we continued past Flight Deck and back into the park. This was a very fun trip and was part of Bay Area Weekend put on by Theme Park Review.

I remember when the park first opened. The staff all had costumes matching their rides and areas. Made it feel like a Disneyland for people older than 12. It was fun and I came out every chance I could. Now it has no personality. My sons don't like going.

This is my 2nd season working here, And maybe the rules have changed, but from what I know, we cannot photograph the service road, or the consequence could be that employees can be fired

I used to work there years ago and that's what I've been used to seeing everyday. I haven't been back there for so long. Not much has changed. Now they're offering backstage tours for guests? Is this a clever ploy or desperate act?
