I moved mom in with us 3 months ago. She went from being alone most of the time to living in a home with 2 adults, 4 teens, 5 dogs and 2 cats and is never alone now. One lil dog waits for her to fall asleep to steal her food. Our 2 Chows lie at her feet. One cat sleeps on her chest after she goes to sleep. She's enjoying all the love. ❤️
UPDATE - mom fell and ended up in the hospital. She also had covid but we didn't know and don't know how it managed to weasel its way in our home. From there, she had to go to a nursing home for physical therapy. She has become progressively weaker to the point I can't care for her on my own due to vascular parkinson's. Altho she'd rather be home, the care facility staff take excellent care of her, love and spoil her. It's near my house so I can be there quickly. I bring her home for day visits when she's up to it so it's the best solution possible. I've decorated her room and staff say mom's room is the happiest room they've ever seen in a facility. I know we're lucky with how it turned out with this particular facility tho. If your beloved parent does have to go in to long term care, be there often. Make their room homey and happy. Be super appreciative of staff bc their job is so hard. In most cases, your parent will be well cared for.
Good Job Kathy! As a nurse I see and care for many alone parents . Even when family is available not many will step up and share a home and family. Your mom is a lucky woman . Your a beautiful family for her to be with . Just wanted you to know Incase no one told you today Nurse Brenda thinks you are awesome!

I know it's never a dull moment in your house! I moved back to my childhood home with my Mom after my Dad passed last year with 2 dog. They escort her everywhere she goes, she fusses and say I don't need no seeing eye dogs. They lay at her the foot of her bed most nights. One morning she slipped down the 2 steps going into the garage, Shaker her favorite came barking in my room like something was wrong, I get up thinking he's probably gotta pee and I get her up off the step and she said Shaker gets a WHOLE PORK CHOP tonight🤣🤣🤣

@@Pianda Do you know the background of the bird? His animals are rescues and perhaps the bird is as well and has needs. Also, he did clearly say in the video that the bird flies, so obviously not in the cage all the time. It's night time, so ...he's in the cage for bed. When birds are put to bed, they are either in a darker room or have a cover over the cage. The bird did not look unhappy; when a parrot is depressed and in some misery they become aggressive; this bird is not aggressive. You came to your conclusions on this one, short video. Really? If you're concerned about a critter in his care, write him and ask instead of having a tirade on here without knowing all the facts. You can contact him through their website.

The day my Daddy died, my old grey cat was at his feet. As the day progressed, he inched his way up to my Daddys head, where he was when he died. The next day, i made the bed and put Daddyd coat, gloves and hat on his bed. Later i found kitty Dusk, laying on his things. In mourning.

I love the difference in how the son and father handle the dogs. The father is a little more aggressive in petting them and the son is more gentle. The dad is a handsome charming man. The son is handsome, too, but in a more boyish way. Fun.

I saw a later video addressing why people think he is mean to his father. I’m looking at as a reaction between two men who are up late at night after sharing a few extra cocktails (maybe a few cigars?? 😂) love and memories 🥰. We all know we have a drunken state where things become super literal 😂. Maybe I’m wrong and I’m projecting, but I still see a ton of love between these two and the animals. ❤️❤️❤️
I don't think he was being mean, just not taking seriously that his father was concerned about that one dog. he did tell his dad that he has to move slow around him meaning the dog can be reactionary. that is a concern to the dad and can understand that. at his age he can't move fast, as shown where the one dog has his nose where he should not in an aggressive manner. All I thought was that he should take his dad's concern a bit more to heart. I know he does a wonderful job and loves all his dogs and obviously his dad. You can feel it when he talks to his dad. then again, I don't know either one of them personally, I don't live with them, don't see them on a regular basis so I could be so far off base that I am sitting in the parking lot. Just never take ones concerns around your animals lightly, that little fear could be all that's needed for a dog to be aggressive and hurt that person. we don't know what goes through a dogs mind. XOXOXO
Agreed. I’ve been in this guy’s position before, and I’ve reacted similarly. Taking in rescues is a huge commitment and requires a cautious and aware approach. Ppl unfamiliar won’t be super aware of what may be triggering & whatnot. I think he knows his dad isn’t at much risk, I think it would be a lot more tense, but if anything will prevent a situation, it’ll be with him telling his dad how to interact. Unless there’s a neurological issue, dogs will get aggressive out of fear and anxiety, so it’s important to let them build trust

Omg..... I am crying. This was hilarious. Not everyone is a multiple multiple animal person. I have a herd of rescue animals and I just move through the madness as well but when people come to visit I get the giggles because they think I live in a zoo.... Well, I guess I do. Love love love watching you and the love you have for a rescue animal.
