Pass the popcorn, this is a movie. This is Chance's original song, the double bass is special (we sometimes forget that Chance is a bass). The storyline is great! Shout out to Claire Glassford for her role. At the beginning of the video was a little girl (1693), and in 1705, she was grown up and signing on as crew. Surprise! She had a treasure map all along! Gotta love Home Free for another great pirate adventure.

When Home Free released their "Sea Shanty Medley" during the lock down and it went viral, the game company Ubisoft saw it and was so impressed by them that they reached out to Home Free and asked if they would be interested in creating an original song for their game (which was in development) Skull and Bones. Of course they jumped on that and their one and only sea shanty enthusiast, Adam Chance stepped up and wrote this master piece. Ubisoft introduced them and their song at the Summer Game Fest along with the lyric video which is what we had until now. This video incorporates elements of the game into the story depicted in the video. Well worth the wait, love it. Looking forward to what they have next for us.

From the BTS, Rob and Tim were drinking O'Douls. Pretty sure Chance and Adam were drinking something else. 🤣☠️
This is one where there are 2 instruments...a Guitar played by Chance, and a Mandolin played by Austin. All other percussion etc are all Adam, as well as the Skull and Bones chant in the one verse. This is a Chance original, and there are 2 other videos, a lyrical video which is all game footage, and a live performance which is shorter, but you can see them singing the parts.
The live performance is special, watch their faces. Especially Tim and Austin when Chance starts to sing, they are as proud of him as we are.
Especially the one from Norway. That was awesome! They had the audience going.

Chance sings lead in Born in the USA, I Can't Outrun You, Cover Me Up, Some Girls Do, and Yours. He has collabbed with The Hound and The Fox on several songs including Whistling Lad, The Wellerman, Johnny Cash's Hurt, & Wayfaring Stranger. He has some original songs he performs as well.

Good reaction yall. In the pirate movies, the pirates were cursed by the treasure and were not really alive, maybe they were inspired by that and made the treasure thief girl look ghostly? Maybe? Please listen to the live of this song that they did for the game release, you can see the instruments and it (in my opinion) sounds even better than the studio version.

I think Chance said he played the mandolin in recording. Yes, Austin played the mandoline in the live presentation for Ubisoft. In the concert I saw, no mandoline at all, but Chance played guitar.

So, Chance wrote the song. We are all so stinking proud of him. And the instruments are, Chance on guitar and Austin on mandolin.... Adam beats on a table.. if that counts? The actress on this, for the adult girl is established enough to have her own IMDB page... so that is the second video of theirs that I know of starting to use working talent. Boys are moving on up!! She didn't need to resort to violence. She offered them someone to take control, to plot course, to pay them regularly, to take care of them basically. Pirates don't seem to be the kind of people who readily do the organizational things.

LMFAO!!!! You guys are hilarious!. Yet I love your reaction to this song. It is the best part song ever made so far.
Ubisoft released a Lyric video of the song a few months ago. That video has game footage. The guys did the song on a live stage while helping introduce the new game. There's Chance's guitar and one of the other guys was playing another instrument, I think either a Lute or a Mandolin, I am not sure. The live is just as great as this MV. :)
Warning! I got my detective hat out on this one! LOL Not sure when the guys were approached to write this song but I do know that the song was officially released in early June of 2023 when the guys performed it live at the Ubisoft Summer Game Fest and the lyric video was released that day. But...this video was filmed in February of 2023! They had to keep it a secret until the official announcement at Summer Fest. On a livestream Q&A shortly before Summer Fest, the guys hinted at something and said they had to sign an NDA and keep it under wraps for a year. So...the song was written sometime in 2022 or 2021 maybe? Just guessing here. I suspected that this video had already been made because of the thumbnail for the lyric video. I mean it shows the guys in costume. It was mentioned in a Q&A that there would be an official video coming out in the fall of 2023. Obviously that didn't happen. But I do think the video release was to be timed to hype up the game release, and it was supposed to be out before Christmas but got delayed so the video was delayed. Yes, the game has been in development hell for a while now but...considering how some games have been pushed out unfinished or buggy with people having to download patches to be able to even play...as long as the game is completely playable from day one...I'll give them grace on the delays. From what I understand from rumors from those involved in the beta testing, it is actually pretty good. But we shall see. I do know that it isn't totally realistic in how the ships handle (able to turn sharply etc.) but the rest sounds good. Crossing my fingers for Home Free that they haven't aligned with a stinker. Either way, we got an awesome piratey song out of it! LOL
The only thing is is that Austin’s hair is so long. It wasn’t that long over a year ago was it?? Not sure, just asking.

This isn't a music video - it's a mini-movie with a great song, terrific acting, singing, beatboxing & graphics. I love that it's a woman who rises from nothing to be the captain of her own pirate ship. How fortunate is HF to have 5 vocal chameleons and 3 song writers. Chance did a fantastic job of writing this one. Thanks for playing this & your comments.
PS - I like to think she not only got to take over 'cuz of the gold but for showing leadership & perhaps being able to read (it wasn't that common centuries ago).

I took a dive into IMBD, and both the director & actress have entries (I recognized the actress from a couple TV shows). There is a real short film vibe to this, beyond the music video aspect.
To get to the one critique I have, which is I could not see the majority of the video. I will go to Home Frees site and run it a couple few times. I am a pirate both by my DNA and by the company I have kept, in fact I am thinking about flying the Jolly Roger from my house. Oh, and rum . . . why is the rum always gone? Good thing I am pleasantly easy when some good homemade mead comes around knocking! The song rawks, and I love the concept of the video, on the screen it was too dark to see anything, but I bet when I watch it from their site I will see the nuances that I missed. I love the lyrics, I love their voices, I totally adore the mandolin's line in the song. It's cute when Ogre and AJ get lippy with each other, I wonder what they would get up to if they really got going at it; probably wouldn't be able to play it on CZcams. JWD* laddies, everything was primo, more pirate songs, and sea shanties, please.

Great song! I love it! Home Free came out with a lyric video (where it’s all game footage and looks pretty cool) and a short live video for the Ubisoft crowd. Chance wrote the song. Tim went insanely low. This is the official Home Free video. There is guitar in it and a mandolin. Adam Rupp does the drums. There’s no flute. I want to be a pirate too! 🥰💀☠💀

The song was released just a few months ago. I love the song but this is the first video of Home Free's I wasn't crazy about. I don't understand what the point of having the girl in it was. Sorry, just don't get it. You should listen to them singing this live at the Ubisoft convention. Chance and Tim start the song hitting the lowest bass notes possible. Austin just stands there watching them with a smile on his face in disbelief. 😅 The game is being released February 16. It looks like its going to be amazing. Thanks for the reaction video guys.
