    Why Baltic Birch is so hard to find???
    Simple answer is it’s a Russian species of birch.
    Russian Birch, also known as Baltic Birch, is the wood of choice for many carpenters, furniture makers, and manufacturers, and it's easy to see why. This wood is made up of hard layers that give it a void-free core.

Battle of the bulge. I’m actually told a story on this channel, how he was the only one in his platoon to survive. Needless to say it took a few years before he purchased a Toyota or a Mercedes. But as time went on, he actually owned multiples of those cars before he died. Just some food for thought here. He was an awesome man of character, but do you think buying those certain types of automobiles made him a man of bad character?

    • @anttiplathan
      @anttiplathan Před rokem

      @simonr6793 Baltic Birch plywood is not manufactured in Russia. They don't have the skills nor technology to produce consistent high quality. The reason for the shortage is Russia, however. Most of the plywood raw material i.e. birch logs come from Russia. Since they started the war, EU has blocked imports from Russia. Finland and Lithuania have the biggest birch plywood factories and since they now have to rely mostly on Finnish birch logs, the prices have skyrocketed. Finland has huge forest industry, but there is no way to compete with Russia's raw material resources, and earlier Finns were able to get dirt cheap logs from Russia. No more.

    Not to be a Donny Downer, but.... Is buying Baltic Birch during an ongoing embargo a good idea? Is it feeding money back into the Russian economy? Is it negating every dollar we've spent supporting the suppressed European country? We should be supporting companies like ApplePly that use North American maple to produce a similar product. We should be supporting new sources of US-based manufactured panel products. Our current ethos is 180° from the national attitude the US demonstrated during WWII. Even during the Vietnam era, very few US citizens were willing to make a single sacrifice in order to support the fight against aggression. We need a new source for stable, solid panels....
