I saw somewhere else that the reason why romulus became the ruler of rome was because the gods gave remus 6 birds while romulus 12 indicating he was the chosen leader,that made Remus jealous so he fought his brother but was defeated while doing so,is there a possibility that this is more of a mythical interpretation ?

I always forgot that Rome is in Italy, and Italians were once Romans.
