Lookin good brother! Can’t wait to see what’s next.

@@sikbaggers I will be there! Ride safe sir!
Great vid as always glad to see some progress on the build. Looking forward to future vids. I'm going to bet you will install the blow by catch can especially with three clear window. My blow by was bad and even worse after switching to synthetic. Added catch can now all is good.
Im hoping I dont have to but I have it here ready to install just in case. Im really hoping to not have that black tubing running all down the side lol but we know how these engines work so crossing my fingers. We will have a series of pretty small steps taken on the build and then we will get into some more serious installs. Thanks for checking them out! Take care and ride safe.
@@sikbaggers I ran mine behind the backing plate on top of the manifold up across the top of the front head with the wiring that's there then down behind the front frame rail and mounted the can at the top of the oil cooler to the frame rail. Turned out real clean. Also I didn't want the oil too travel strait down and all collect in the can. I figured running it up first then down would allow any excess oil to run back into the heads. (Fingers crossed). Seems to be working. Hope your plan works as it would be a great alternative. Thanks for the reply.
Im going to watch all of these videos. I got a 2013 deluxe, so you will probably get alot of questions from me lol i apologize in advance. You are the man brother
Hey no worries any questions you have just let me know! I have new videos on this bike coming out very soon!
Sweet can't wait
Steven... Thank you for doing softail video ... looking forward for more softail video...
Thank you Angel! New videos coming every Monday! Thank you for checking out the video! Take care and ride safe. ~Steve
Love the videos just found your channel last week been going back to watch your other videos. Don't always have a bike to ride since I had my 4th child right after medically retiring of 10 years of service. The only time I get a ride is when my dad needs me to fix something or add something on the street glide or when he goes to Mexico. Which your content was really helpful
Well thank you for checkign out the videos and commenting..much appreciated. Thank you for your service as well. If you every have any questions please let me know. Take care and ride safe.
Dang! That air cleaner gives that engine nice and, well, clean look. Great vid.
Thank you Dave..it certainly cleans up the side of the bike..exactly what I hoping for. Thank you for checking out the video! Take care and ride safe. ~Steve
Sure makes that chrome motor picture perfect!
Yes Sir! I was really hoping to clean up this side of the bike and I think this air cleaner did it for sure. Thank you for checking out the video! Take care and ride safe. ~Steve
Thx for sharing. Have same cleaner on my SGS. Highly advisable to run with rain sock unless guaranteed not to rain.
Thanks for ther heads up John. How is the blow by on your bike?
@@sikbaggers Still working it as I’ve only put on 4000 miles after Trask and S&S 475 install.
So far 1/2 quart.
Well nuts! I’ve got a massive gap between the backing plate, and throttle body. I’ve removed the throttle body support plate and everything
Thanks for sharing the video, I’m doing a cholo build on an 08 heritage
Hey Jeff thats awesome man...this is our first cholo build and hoping to do it some justice..I've been abagger guy for years so this a bit different for us. Were going to try our best! Thank you for checking out the video! Take care and ride safe. ~Steve
I like your show bro
Thank you Dean!
The way those clamps on the breather looks like a drum clamp.
I was thinking the same thing..like lugs on the kick drum...works well!
Love your videos ! I’m doing the same thing on my 2017 heritage . Are you going to be installing chrome lowers?
Yes I am! Videos coming shortly on those
before you do all the individual install videos you should do a parts layout video showing what you have in store for the build! would be cool
We thought about that but we dont currently have all the parts. We did a reveal video and talked about everything we are doing. Its a cholo/vicla style build with a lot of extras!
Be nice if you guys could do a Trike. Either a Freewheeler or RG3
Ive done some freewheeler videos and some trike videos...I dont get them in here very often but when I do I try to shoot videos on them!
What size is the allen head for that air cleaner cover? can't seem to find the right size
Steve can you let me know how this intake works with factory floorboards in regards to comfort with leg on that side. I have a stage 2 M8 Fatboy and looking at getting this filter intake away. Mike
It does stick out a tad farther than the oem breather but I have not had any issues with it on my leg. I would also suggest with the M8 to ick up thier external breather kit as well. It will keep any blow by from getting on the acrylic cover making it oily and nasty looking.
I have an M8 ('17 King) and seen how much oil blow-by build up there was inside the throttle body at Just 8,000 miles.
I've installed a Feuling vented dipstick and now at 10k miles that blow-by has not yet reared its ugly head.
Thought about getting a Trask vented transmission cover but at $350 I'll hold off to see how well the Feuling does.
Understandable for sure. the m8 loves to make tons of blow by..the twin cams are pretty bad but not near as bad as the m8s Where did you get your vented dipstick? Ive seen it but just ever had a chance to look them up. Thank you for checking out the video! Take care and ride safe. ~Steve
@@sikbaggers
Believe it or not I got I on Amazon for the typical mind boggling price of $279 but I suppose it's cheaper than fowled piston heads.
The only thing I didn't like I'd there's a super tiny set screw that allows you to clock the direction of the cap with the Feuling logo in the direction you want.
I have a good assortment of Allen wrenches, just not that small.
It's almost the size of the screw that holds the arms of your glasses together.
But for what's worth here's a link for you to check out.

Is that velocity stack metal? if I get one I'd like to powder coat it.
yes its all metal
How will it do with my 2019 RGS? I have Rinehart headers with Rinehart 4.5" racing slip ons. I've tried tuning this with my V&H FP-3 tuner and used the deceleration feature set for 1 and I still am seeing some incomplete burn causing loud back fires coming out of the pipes. I currently have a K&N filter for the stage 1 but I'm thinking I need more air flow to help with the issue. In your expertise opinion, do you think that this would help with the Trask Assault Air Cleaner Steve?
The K&N filter is a great foilter..however what air cleaner do you have it in? The filter is just a filter...but the air cleaner you have now may be restricting the air flow..also adding Lower fairings with a HD heavy breather( the kind that turns out towards the front like a cone) will restrict it too, not a lot but maybe noticeable. Let me know what you got.
@@sikbaggers I have just the stock air cleaner on the bike at the moment. I just put on some soft lowers yesterday for my winter riding up here in the rainy NW. I'm shopping around to get a new air cleaner and it would be impractical with the weather around here to by a cone. I have a couple of friends that use them and even with the sock aren't happy. Trask makes a really nice product, but the cost? whew. I'm needing to get something that will produce more air for a cross country trip I'm taking in May.
@@markodaat In order to have a true stage 1 you will need to open up the breather. In your case I would recommend something like the stealth air cleaner from S&S. www.easternperformance.com/ss-stealth-stage-1-air-cleaner-kit-for-stock-cover-for-2017-harley-m8-touring.html You keep the same breather cover you have now but the back is wide open so you get way more air. This style breather will also allow you to block rain. Any other aftermarket open style breather is not going to be great in the rain. The arlen ness ones I run on the SG and RG do pretty good with no rain sock at all and I've been caught in some good rain. But the price is up there with this one too. You will need to retune your bike. Im not sure what tune you used on the bike with a stock air cleaner but I'm going to bet its not right. You really only need to tune when you open up the entire system, air cleaner, headers, and whatever slip on of your choice. Then tune the bike for a stage 1. High flow intake, high flow exhaust. I going to bet your problems clear right up.
Can I put that air cleaner on my 2003 Road King? Thanks
yes just select the box for your bike on this page traskperformance.com/products/trask-assault-charge-high-flow-air-cleaner-kit

What brand of electric ratchet do you use
Its the Milwaukee M12 from home depot..i got this kit and got some knock off back up batteries from amazon...I use everyday.its a beast www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M12-12-Volt-Lithium-Ion-Cordless-3-8-in-Ratchet-Kit-with-One-1-5-Ah-Battery-Charger-and-Tool-Bag-2457-21/202957709
@@sikbaggers thank you brother that is a nice ratchet
What sucks is. Its so clean now. But in a couple weeks its gonna be covered in oil because of no external breather
I understand your concern about the potential oil buildup on the breather due to the lack of an external breather. That can be frustrating, especially after you've just cleaned your bike. However, there are a few things you can do to mitigate this issue. One option is to install Trasks external crankcase breather system. Another way to reduce this is to run your oil slightly lower than half way on your dipstick. This was installed on a 103 and the blow by is not nearly as bad as the M8 engines. It is also important to perform regular maintenance and clean your bike more frequently to prevent excessive buildup. I hope this helps, and please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns!
installed the same Trask on my slim....it sucks
ahh man...why does it suck?
I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that you only clicked your torque wrench once on each bolt and didn’t add extra torque to it by “double checking it”.
haha yeah man...one click and out!
Are you going to reuse your bags from the softail?
we sold the old bags that came on the bike to help buy some new stuff for this project
LET'S GO BRANDON!
I wonder why the manufacturer did not design it like that, so the manufacturer designed something bad? Does it make your engine explode after riding? Will it do something to my life and bike that I need a lawyer because I don't have the breather kit. I should sue Harley then for selling me a bad design engine. Wait, I haven't heard anyone trying to sue Harley because of a bad design or needing a breather kit. Even Harley doesn't even have that available as an option.
well that comment went off the deep end lol
