  • Sometimes the fastest route to dinner is to saute or quick fry a piece of meat or fish. Sara shows the proper technique, and then some quick, mix-and-match ways to change it up. First, Hungarian Pork Sauté with Homemade Spaetzle; then spicy Blackened Fish with a homemade Creole rub.

    The reason why you cut the onion along the lines instead of against it is that way it won't fall apart when cooked, if you cut the onion the other way, (against the grain so to speak), it won't stay in one piece.
