Well explained! I have played on quite a few steinways, even on a model D. The sound is so perfect. Definitely worth the cost. Although my non musical friends dont understand this. I hope i get to own a steinway one day ;)

Steinway is very good indeed. But try Fazioli, Shigeru Kawai, Bösendorfer (and others). You may agree there is no such thing as 'one and only best piano' on the world. But yes, I do share the dream of owning such a high end piano ... Cheers!

Well I have tried shigeru kawai and bosendorfer but haven’t tried fazioli. I agree that there is no best piano, but until now, out of all the pianos I tried, steinway has given me the best feel. I feel like it’s just my personal preference. I hope u get the high end piano u are dreaming for ;D

For me a Steinway is overpriced. (Like Apple computers). A well regulated and maintained Boston is equally good for 'normal' users for less than half the price. The reason people pay so much for a piano is because Steinway creates a cult ... (which is not a problem). Don't be sad because you cannot pay these prices. It's the beautiful melody that makes the piano sing, not the brand name.
