You introduced a song that needs no introduction, then slayed it like you wrote it. Thank you sir for all that tasty delta pie
...and never actually named it. Great heritage!
Haha, yeah he really did. Brilliant
@@steelman774 Name what?
One of the best at keeping the music of the masters alive and well! So glad I found his music and videos.
Legend says that lighting struck when he picked up a guitar.
Ever since that fateful moment neither his fingers or his hair could rest.
Lightning strikes not once but twice.
Somebody give this man a record deal
Yeah, why not? I rather buy that record and play it at home, than generic shit radio music.
All right Jessy Rai, he can have my Lynyrd Skynyrd Double Gold and Platinum album for 5 bucks. That's $2.50 a record. Quite the deal!
@@therapist6328 That's a shit deal, both of those records are worth more than the ink it'll take to print your obituary.
@@robertmantell1700if the albums were worth more, as you say Robert, wouldn't that make it a non-shit deal?
@@therapist6328 Nope, because if you are offering up two great LS albums for $2.50 then YOU'RE worthless! ;-)
The song made me want to play the slide, when I was like 12 years old...took along time.... I am 62 years now, actually 63 just had a birthday whoops
But I put the slide guitar on my ring finger, and then I can mute and I only use a little slide like 2 inches long or so
Yeah , Elmore James what a talent man..
Love the acknowledgement of Elmore James. He often gets missed.
And you, sir, are a worthy successor of the tradition.
Totally agree!
no hes not, hes not even playing the riff right lol
Must agree this guy is really good and deserves a record deal.
Was not expecting a voice like that.
pfff!! you are crazy - hes half singing it
You sir are a true artist. Great singing great playing and thank you for keeping these old songs alive God bless you ✌️
If you and ..Justin Johnson got together...ohh..Lordy..Lord..Lord .!! 😎🎸
I sent Justin's wife Nikki an email about Mr. Phillips a few weeks ago and sent her another one last week. She emailed me that she told Justin. I , like you feel they are kindred spirits that need to connect. It is my hope they do.
I think Justin is better at slide but this guy can also sing which makes them pretty equal. I don’t know I could be wrong. I have never heard Justin sing
Hello there... any news on this? I hope they can jam someday
I could watch and listen to his guitar playing endlessly.
Only just woke up here in England, Sunday , just past 8.30am. This is the perfect start to the day ! 😉👍
*_I'm a big fan of Delta Blues 🎸💙 so this channel is a heaven for me😻💯🔥_*
Thanks Edward for keeping the blues alive, great job as always, a true bluesman
You are the reason why this music will never die! Thank you much, buddy.
When you hear that it makes you feel like fun is coming. It's a great riff.
Oh my. Wow. I am new to Edward Philips and just listened to his crushing performance of Crossroads....Now I’m here listening to his cover of Dust My Broom ....😮
I hit a Blues Gold Mine today. I’m glowing blue right now😆
Edward, you sir ARE EXACTLY the type of blues playing I’ve been searching for for years!!! The perfect authentic slide blues...tight, energetic and authentic. Just beautiful...wow I’m hooked
Hot damn son! That got my foot moving in 4/4 time baby! Wooo!!!
Your slide vibrato mimics your voice. It's an inspiration
What a amazing tribute to an American legend thank you. Cheers from Canada eh!!👍😊👍
I wish I could LIKE this again... I've replayed this a few times..! It's perfect.!
This is fantastic!!! Blues music is the stuff that touches your soul but touches your body too. Can anyone NOT bop to it!? Involuntary.
When I get up in the morning I'm going to hook up the speakers to this tablet and have a cup of coffee.
You play the blues so well and you singing is outstanding. You should be world famous and I hope you achieve the success you deserve. I love your style of blues music and stumbled across your music by accident and I am glad I did.
Straight killing it, Edward.
Please put out an album.
You really evoke the “the sound” out of that Morgan Monroe - nice work!
What comes from the heart, reaches the heart. Edward, you have the heart and the ability to express it. A true blues man.
Can’t sleep so in youtube land watching SRV reaction vids and, boom, I’m listening to your awesome playing and singing! VERY EXCELLENT!!
Magic,The roots are still alive & well.Thank you for sharing Quality Music
Love your rendition as usual.
WHAT A GREAT LOOKING GUITAR
I had this on cassette tape by Elmore James, back in the 80's. Great cover, always enjoy your uploads. Thanks, until you are better paid.👍👍
Now there's a song I haven't heard in close to 50 years!
You have a natural talent for bringing out the heart and soul of these blues songs.
They sound so fresh and reach so deep. Wonderful slide work. Thanks. I look forward
to these videos for reliable enjoyment.
Wow. You make that guitar sing. Awesome.
I’m simply blown away. Way better than I expected. This guy’s got “ it”.
Wow man! So good....I hope this comes out right. To me, this doesn't sound like a cover. The way you sing and express yourself through your playing really comes across. You make these songs yours in a way. It doesn't sound like you are just trying to copy the original. And I really like your hat.
Thumbs of steve. Agreed. I just wrote something very similar, then I read your post.
You hit the mark with your comment, Steve. I think that's what artistry is: taking something and creating a new thing that's wonderful and your own.
The hats very cool. At least it ain’t a cape
best version ive heard: czcams.com/video/8wMRbXOI0lc/video.html
100% Steve, This reminds me of how Johnny Cash took “Hurt” from NIN and made it his own so much they eventually said to him - you did it better than we did ….. It’s now yours
Third best version of this song
Fantastic as always. Keep 'em coming!
Outstanding, nice work.
Very well done. Applause.
Love the sound of that Kay!!!!😆🖒
Man do I enjoy your playing and singing!!!
There's something wrong; it will only allow me to click 'like' once. I feel that's inadequate for talent this exceptional.
Outstanding singing and guitar playing! Thanks for sharing this.
Awesome as always, keep 'em coming!
That was absolutely fucking awesome!
I BELIEVED EDWARS BEEN TO THE CROSSROADS!!!!! GREAT JOB.....
I learned to play Delta blues because of this man.
Never heard this tune before. Good slides.
This rhythm wakes me up!
Sweet! Brilliantly executed! Thankyou for sharing.
Good performance, good song, and EXCELLENT background scenery.
Perfect cover thanks man pure blues
So talented!
Thank you, I love your work.
That was spectacular!!!
Dusted off a bong pack while we were dusting our brooms!...Awsome cover..outstanding slide skills man...
Great treatment of this classic...bravo.
Brilliant. I look forward to your videos. Thanks mate keep it up.
I also want to express my appreciation of your videos man. Seems so true to the original performers with all respects payed. You're the canary in a coal mine and what brought you to play and sing this well is probably a story in and of itself.
Great content!
That was amazing. I played this for my high school music exams and it got me first ranking in my state. Still, not even close to being as good as this.
Awesome!!! the soul of blues running into you...
Real Bluesman.... Thank🌹 you!!!

This performance is a triumph!
You sir are inspirational.
That was unbelievable!! I think I saw Elmore’s ghost taking notes in the background. Now I’m just gonna go and throw my guitar away and stick to the drums
Lol. I know that feeling!
Lovely, played with Heart and Soul! Kind Thanks! DaveyJO in Pa.
Mighty fine picking Edward. Mighty fine.

You are my favourite slide guitarist of modern times, like your style and all your versions... brilliant. Im wishing one day you'll make a tutorial dvd on blues slide. I would happily pay a pretty price for. I'm sure many others would too.
My man got that heartstruck sound
