I am so glad some one is still dehydrating. I bought 3 last year and I am using them a lot . But most homesteading channels only talk about freeze drying. Well not every one can afford that. So it is hard when do we stop buying the latest gazette. This year all they talk about is freeze drying.
I agree. And even though right now we could finally afford to buy one, I am really not interested. People were dehydrating LONG before the invention of freeze dryers including the native Americans, they relied on that greatly for preserving food to get them through the winter

Need to pick beans today; we need to up our count of Dilly Bean jars; they're one of our favorite snacks/condiments. I like chopping up dilly beans and put them in "five bean salad."

I am so jealous of your zucchini, mine all died again.... but God knows why, I am inundated with peaches, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, can dehydrate, freeze, juice.... while the tomatoes are turning fast now and elderberries are on the to do list... Oh my word!!! I couldn’t find the video where you talked about using your vinegars in your hair. I came on here to ask you what you used for your hair and if you had something for thinning hair. Menopause is not being kind to my hair.
Those are beautiful! None of my flowers except my marigolds have bloomed. It is a first year garden, so I did try different varieties. They have are growing slowly but no blooms or anything. Even in the ones in pots with potting soil.. definitely will be doing a soil test to see what amendments are needed.
The funny thing is that marigolds here take a super long time to mature, at least for me. I pretty much gave up on them. I prefer calendula (AKA Pot Marigolds) anyway and they always do better for me.
Love the Cherry juice idea! Mangoes don’t do it for me, but I love Passion fruit juice-wonder if that would work?? Can’t wait to see how it turns out! I have tried canning my green beans three years in a row now and they always taste woody or cardboardy Any tips you can share (I’m in Colorado) Love your videos! They are really helpful ♥️
Beans can vary depending on variety. These beans have to be picked young or they do not make a good green bean. My purple beans can be picked older an still be fine to use as a green bean. So if yours are tough and tasteless, you may be allowing them to grow too big before picking. At that point it is best to allow them to finish out and use as a dry bean.
Unfortunately, my Nesco dehydrator stopped working (no heat) one month after the 1 yr warranty was up.... And I started the nasturtium vinegar, the color is beautiful, but, is it supposed to smell like rotten eggs? Will that change? Lol, bumps in the road...... I think I might invest in an excalibur, reviews on the newer Nescos breaking down are common. And I have done the zucchini pineapple. It does work, it does take a lot of pineapple juice, lemon juice and sugar. But it made a decent upside down cake. Love the this n that vids!
You mentioned something about getting off of your thyroid meds. What to eat after getting off of the meds? I was taking levothyroxine, but this new doc took me off while my hormone level was 10.7. What? I don't understand. I don't go back until Dec.

Do you think it is still good? I have tasted a couple of cloves and while they are very carmalee and black licorice flavored they have not bothered me so far. But I only ate two. Could you please help me with this and finding your video?

@@amydelgado4258 No, I do not grow jasmine but I love the scent! I never use vinegar in salve making. I only use oils that I infuse. You do not want to add water or vinegar to something like that

@@fromdivineessence9600 I do not know anything about them. I just infuse all my oils in the warmest area of the house for a minimum of 2 months or until I need them. Because I keep a lot going at once, they can often sit for 4 months or more. I have to do it that way because I sell a lot of skin cream and need the infused oil for that plus I will be selling the hair oil so if that does well, I will need to keep several jars of it going as well.
Yes, that is why I said we chose to see if we could fix it rather than haul it to the dump but we waited until after we got the replacement one since I was using the faulty one until it came in

I think they will be like my oldest and his wife, they will likely not wait long to start having kids. Justin and Marlene are currently 26 and 25.

I've been running low on jars and all my tomatoes are green so I've been cutting my green beans in pieces and dehydrating them.
They do dehydrate up nicely and work well in soups, I have done that before :)

As long as that works well for you, there is really no need for a dehydrator unless you are wanting to start doing bigger volumes at a time.

Yes, it does smell like fermenting eggs to me during the process but that smell will subside as it gets towards the end

Would a lingerie bag work well for dehydrating herbs? I didn’t grow peppermint but mom in law did. I’m hoping she’ll let me harvest hers.
If you do not live in a place with high humidity, it should work fine or you can simply tie and hang them

we call them courgettes while they are little and marrows when they are left to get bigger i dehydrate them
