maybe he means he did good (saved your soul), he had good persons next to him (holy white cover) but none of that saved him from some shit? Why didn't they paint me light blue? (maybe it's something about the purity of the soul or a blessing? Hard times, situations, toxic relationships makes people crazy and blacken the soul.
