      So if you need to use your spare tire do you need to remove the sub then reinstall it?
      I really want sub for my rav 4 but not sure I’m tech savvy enough to do this install.

    Installed this same sub in my 2019 RAV4 LE. Discovered that when using the high-level inputs, the blue remote turn-on wire is not needed. The Rockghost subwoofer senses the signal on the speaker-level inputs and turns on and off without the blue wire being connected to anything. The manual does not mention this, but it's good to know and may save someone from running additional wire.

    Hi, it's me again from your dash speaker video :) I had two questions
    1) Since mine's a 2019 Hybrid, the battery is in the boot. So for the power connection for the Sub, I just use a t Tap or attach the wire to the positive terminal of the battery?
    2) I'm not upgrading my door speakers or planning for an amp yet, so at 12:49 you mention using a T Tap on the wires in the B pillar?
    Thanks

    • @Rav4Gen5
      @Rav4Gen5  Před 3 lety

      You can connect the subwoofer directly to the battery. These subwoofers typically have an inline fuse to protect the wire. You don't use T-tap here. You might want to search for terminal connectors to add additional wires to the battery terminal. amzn.to/3f79Pca
      What might also be different for you is you might need to find a way to get a 12v signal when the car is on/accessory mode. This is used to tell the subwoofer is on.
      Use T-Tap to only get audio signal from the B-Pillar. Not for power. The video to get audio from the B-Pillar will be uploaded tonight.

    • @love2huntbooks2
      @love2huntbooks2 Před 3 lety

      @@Rav4Gen5 Thanks. If I'm using the terminal connector and connecting the sub directly, does it risk draining the battery?
      I didn't understand the accessory mode part. In your installation, you pulled the power from the 12v cigarette lighter. I thought I was going for the battery to bypass that.

    • @Rav4Gen5
      @Rav4Gen5  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes and No. My 12v accessory port is also only powered when the car is on. Therefore, I cannot drain my battery. The subwoofer has a remote turn on wire that remotely turns on subwoofer if power is send through the remote wire. You need to find a place for that remote turn on wire.

    • @love2huntbooks2
      @love2huntbooks2 Před 3 lety

      @@Rav4Gen5 Got it..thanks that makes sense. So to be safe, I think I should also pull the power from the 12v cig lighter in the boot (the Hybrid 2019 also has it as the same place as your Adventure). Are you sure it is ok to hook up power to rear ACC ? The power wire that comes with the power wire is so thick, makes me think tapping into rear ACC will not be enough power?

    • @Rav4Gen5
      @Rav4Gen5  Před 3 lety +1

      There is no remote to turn on/off. There is a wire that you have to supply power which will turn it on. I connected it to the 12v socket since that is powered only while the Rav4 is on/accessory mode.

    Hello, so I got the spare tire sub for my 2021 rav4 xle premiun. I'm ready to install. Using your video of course. I use T taps to connect the wires to the rear door? I noticed in another comment you said you used the head unit.

    Thank you

    • @Rav4Gen5

      T-Taps are fine and are what I would use to get signal from the B-Pillar. I went to the head unit because I already had signal exposed when I installed an amp

      @@Rav4Gen5 ok, thank your for that video. So, my question comes from the video . But I'm confused in 9:10 mark. When you summarize I noticed the blue remote wire is connected to a lever nut connector. My question, which idk how to ask.. once I t tap into the cigarette socket, and I have the red power cable, where does the blue wire come into play. Do I make sense?

    • @Rav4Gen5
      @Rav4Gen5  Před 3 lety

      Blue is for signal to tell the sub to turn on. You want power sent to that when the car is on or accessory mode. In this case, I connect to the same port as the 12v since that only has power when car is on/accessory mode. You need to make sure the sub turns off when car is off otherwise you'll drain the battery.
