Hello and welcome!
Today’s video is Lesson #1 in our new series, “How to Read Tarot Cards | Tarot 101”.
In this lesson, we’ll cover the very basics of getting started with a tarot reading which are: Shuffling, Drawing Cards, and Simple Spreads.
My name is Christina and I am an intuitive tarot reader. I post mainly Pick a Card Readings here on my channel. This series will cover everything that I’ve learned as a tarot reader through a few different books and websites (listed below), but mostly through my own practice and experience.

I do agree that it's best to initially familiarize yourself with an original Smith/Waite deck. When this deck, conceived by A. E. Waite, and illustrated by Pamela Coleman Smith, was published by Rider in1909, it was the first tarot deck to have pictorial illustrations for the pip cards. For example, the Ten of Cups would simply show ten cups, etc. It has tremendous historical significance, and paved the way for tarot decks that followed to be done in the same manner. I don't know if it is known who made that choice, Pamela Smith or Arthur Waite, but I bow to Pamela Coleman Smith for her illustrations. 🙏🏻 This is the most widely used and COPIED tarot deck in the world. If you can read this deck it will help you read other decks you may have in the future.

I have had my decks for a little while and while this first lesson perhaps wasn't needed for me personally it's aways helpful to start again and you never know, you may find a way that suits better.
Thank you for doing this indepth series as most "learn tarot" videos are short and not that inclusive. It's a "their way or the highway" kind of vibe with no room to do what feels natural. This is why you're my favourite tarot reader 🥰💯
