- In this video we find the missing power on the 16v and take it drag racing to shake it down. The car performed really well but I've got an issue with the gear shifts so that's something we need to address.

I almost fell out the bed on your second last run. Im laying on my side on the edge of the bed and that 1 2 shift took an eternity. Subconsciously i was leaning forward to brace for the next gear kick. 😂😂😂
😂 That run messed me up too. I thought my clutch was gone. Traction was very poor that night.
Excellent 1st run, car was strong (although not its usual times). Damn, 2nd & 3rd races went down to driver error (2nd run sounded like the you didn't drop the clutch fast enough and 3rd run you missed 3rd gear, well not sure what "gear shift voodoo" befell you that night! 😂🤣😅). Oooh man I really admire how you're so in tune (you're one) with this machine, you know its strengths and its limits, ADMIRABLE! You seem to have had a BLAST and that's the whole point if it, right? 👍💯
Some teething issues to sort out with the shifter/selector. But it's in progress. But all in, I had fun racing the car. 💪🏽

Appreciate the kind words. And yes, the difference between the NA and turbo car is huge. The turbo car would put train lengths on it in low boost. I would like to race them sometime. It should be very interesting. lol.

Exactly that. Its not fast but it's so much fun and I had some close runs. I can't complain about that. If I didn't tell you guys the times it ran, you would think it's running 13's 🤣

Weldone on running a 14.999 against me with the single throttle 16v. Glad i could push you to achieve the happiness. Damn my gears are messed and traction was really not the best but regardless it was fun. Upwards from here
Sorry you missed 2nd. It would have been a very good run. I owe you a rerun for sure. Hopefully we'll meet again. I'll try and race at the next event but it's going to be very busy. We should race when it's quieter.

Two tips. Don't drive it like it's a turbo, you are over revving the engine and get a set of rose jointed gear linkages and engine poly bushes. The engine tilts under load and miss-align the gear linkages.
1. It makes peak power at 6600 and holds it flat to the 7100 rev limit. When I shift close to the limit, it falls back into the peak torque which is at 6000 rpm which is where I want it. I could say alot more about don't drive it like it's a turbo but you're clearly a pro so I won't.
2. It's a cable shift gearbox so there goes your rose joint idea and I've already had the gearbox mount poly bushed, the other two were already done.
I get that you're trying to help but you need to have all the facts before you do that. This was completely unsolicited.

Yes I've got a gauge. Not too sure what the deal is with the light. I think it's a sender issue to the cluster. Lol.

I just bought the distributor so I'm going to use it for a while to get my money's worth 🤣 I'll upgrade the ecu eventually. An EMU Classic from Ecu Master would be lovely in here.

I left on green, I wasn't trying to time the lights. Just wanted to get comfortable racing a new car.
The maroon ballade was a B20v with cams
Now I'm very bummed I missed a gear. Would have been great to get a clean run in against a B20. I was hoping for a re run but he didn't come back. Hope his car is okay.
That mis-shift against the fiesta was heartbreaking 😂
2nd run was beautiful. Told you the numbers don't matter if you enjoy how it drives. Congrats on your 1st outing in the 16v.
@@teamphashash A miss shift on a potentially close run always hurts. Thankfully I got to run it back. That first run would have been the fastest run of the night, my 60ft & 8th was solid. But that 3rd gear shift is a killer.

15 inch Bridgestone rubber needed here.
Why Bridgestones?
@@lowdl I did the same 60ft times on it as most dudes with semi slics did. With way less wheel spin. And they were turbo cars. And hated my traction. Also strap your coil springs as they are with cable ties so that your nose can't pick up on pull away. Use enough cable ties so they won't break.
And don't go broder than 205. And don't warm your tires . Road tires don't like heat. Just "clean" them.

Fiesta st is not going the way it should. I ran 14.95 constantly standard on mine.
Did you do that at Killarney? Traction was very bad on the night. Not many racers either so we were struggling.

I tried Micheline, toyo, fireforce, Yokohama,pereli, and and and. Bridgestone is by far the best. And potholes fear Bridgestone!
