    I am an owner of Sony A7 IV. I have observed a huge difference between animal mode and the bird mode when you shoot birds. It is a completely different experience.
    We have 3 modes because they have to use real-time ML algorithms, and they have a pure performance. Nobody can fit NVIDIA 3090 into a camera. Even the best Neural Net is imperfect, and you can achieve much better results with a bit of human supervision.

    Oh my God thank you SO MUCH. My concern was the first mentioned thing about different settings between video and photo. I cannot believe that customers have to search and set this. Why isn't it already set as we switch the new dial. It should automatically offer the last used setting. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

That way I can leave it off when I'm turning the camera off but not changing the lens, and every once in awhile when I'm ready to change a lens I can enable it. Hi I have the A7IV with the tamron 28-75 and I find the focus point super laggy when I burst shoot
    The focus point follow the subject when I don't shoot but once it's starting shooting, it doesn't follow at all and It's always a little behind.

    I put the bird/human/animal af cycle on a button on the camera. It would be frustrating to go to hit this button on a lens that doesn’t have a button when you see a cools bird. I set my lens button to right/left eye as that’s not super important and I would pretty much only use that on my 85mm which has the programmable button on the lens.

It´s because I do underwater photography, and there´s no whaterhousing for sony A7IV nowadays, so I want to buy the waterhousing from sony A7SIII, because it has the same body, but the only diference it´s that dial. Thank you so much.

      How so?

    • @davidantonangeli8687
      @davidantonangeli8687 Před 2 lety

      @@mshea5906, sensor has a glass sealing on top, it can be cleaned quite easily with the right tools, wheras shutter might easily be the most fragile piece in your entire camera body and should always be avoid to be touched. Having that fragile piece exposed when changing glasses would honestly creep me out. Also when you get dust on your shutter instead of your sensor, while you're in the field, never even think about cleaning it on the spot, too risky. So after continuing using your cam the shutter will be executed and that dust will be thrown around in the chamber and eventually end up on your sensor anyways. Imho that function is a marketing gag and indeed risks, like @J R noted, of being detriment to the shutter. And don't get me wrong, it's nothing against the A7iv itself, I own the camera and it is a fantastic piece of tech that I do not want to miss anymore.
