Description:
Naam Iruvar is a Tamil film from the year 1947, when the picture was still black and white. T.R.Mahalingam, the son of a black-marketer who falls in the company of evil friends and invests his money in making a film in accordance with their advice. However, the film never sees the light of the day and leaves T.R.Mahalingam heavy in debt. He is eventually questioned by financiers and when he fails to pay them, is dragged to court. How he is rescued from his perilous situation forms the climax of the story. At the end of the movie, T.R.Mahalingam becomes a nationalist and a Gandhian.V.K.Ramasamy made his debut in the movie as an evil old man and the partner to T.R.Mahalingam's father, T.A.Jayalakshmi is his daughter who is the lady love of T.R.Mahalingam.

1947 ஆகஸ்ட் 15ல் சுதந்திரம் அடைந்த நாள்.எங்கள் பள்ளி ஆசிரியை சொல்லிக் கொடுத்தபடி "ஆடுவாேமே பள்ளுப் பாடுவாேமே" என்ற இந்தப் பாடலைப் பாடி மகிழ்ந்தோம்.தீர்க்கதரிசி பாரதியார் பாடல்கள் காலத்தால் அழியாதன.அன்று ஏழு வயதில் கற்ற பாடல் இன்று எண்பத்திரண்டு வயதிலும் கேட்கக் கேட்க இனிமையோ இனிமை!!
