Wow, thanks for this very interesting overview, and having us watch you do stuff. I have VCV Rack installed on my GNU/Linux notebook, but haven't got the time to get into it, because figuring everything out on my own is kinda tedious if you're new to (virtual) modular. Cool sound also, which makes it even more fun to watch. :)

Very interesting video, you really know what you're doing. Everybody can adjust a sound on some commercial synthesizer, but starting from scratch with this modular VCV Rack is impressing. Props! 🙂👍

Thank you for you comment, it means a lot to me! I think I will be doing more VCV Rack videos, because it’s such a powerful instrument and people appear to want to see/learn more..

At 2:00 you say "when I press play here" having the mouse over the sequencer. I do the but there is no impulse or sound coming out. At 4:00 you say "until you press play".where do you do that ? i see your mouse over the adsr but i dont see any play button, nor do i see any play button elsewhere on the modules. Actually, arriving at 4:00 I can here a kick sound when I press "push" on the first adsr ´. What am I missing?

In the DAW. I tend to use a MIDI clip with 16th notes on the track that I use VCV Rack on. The MIDI To CV module or modules in VCV Rack take these notes as input.

I had the same problem and question. If I connect MIDI-CV CLK/N to Ext clock in, Sequel_8 tempo stops clocling.

Cool stuff, the high sound was genius..
Really daring and original, stubborn in a good way.
This is how you make some real shit.
These kind of things a techno track really needs.
    Greetings.

Actually everything except the arrangement is easy to do in VCV, now THAT would be a real challenge...;)

Hi, great video 👍🏻 are these modules included in the free VCV rack or are some of them premium? I made the mistake of of trying to create a setup and halfway through realized that I didn’t have several of the modules. Frustrated to say the least. Again, great video.

really cool. although i think adjusting the quantizers to be in a certain scale would prove to be more melodious. love it tho. cheers.

It is Techno, not trance... melody/groove you get by using 'noise' in combination with Fx.... and for variation and 'moodchangers' , lfo's, filters, and whatever other fx will do... You just have to rely on those and what you hear. Not on scales... thats just my opinion. I am saying this because in the past I wanted to create Techno and because I used 'the classical' scale theory , it never really sounded like Techno... So now for me its just about the right sound in combination with groove. :😀
