- With 2023 nearly over, it's time to reflect on everything that's happened...and look ahead. 2024 brings another promising year for video games, and after the incredibly high bar this year has set, the next will be hard pressed to follow it up. Nintendo especially has a lot riding on the next several months, both their upcoming games and, potentially, their next console. Surprisingly, though, we don't actually know that much about Nintendo's 2024 lineup!
So, why not try and predict what it'll end up like? With an eye for details and an ear to the ground (and a handful of rumors circulating online to keep in mind), let's see if we can nail down what Nintendo's plans for 2024 might be like. Both their upcoming software...and the successor to the Switch.

I’d say that we might see a Super Mario Galaxy 2 Remake/Remaster,due to this Mainline 3D title of the Series still isn’t released on Switch, therefore it’s about damn time for a Second Chance, also because it would be the perfect promotion material to get consumers hyped for the Sequel of the Super Mario Bros Movie,so Yoshi can take the spotlight
𝔸𝕨𝕖𝕤𝕠𝕞𝕖 𝕧𝕚𝕕𝕖𝕠!
If we ever get a Mario Warriors game, it should totally be based around Bowser. People always say how it’s crazy that we’ve only gotten 1 (soon to be 2) Peach games, but it’s honestly even crazier how we haven’t gotten a SINGLE Bowser game.
11:00 The fact that consoles like PS2 and GameCube are likely to be considered retro soon (if not already) makes ME feel old.
Some already consider the Wii as retro.
Personally I'm firmly seated on the Tomodachi Switch Conspiracy Train, what with the 3DS game's 10th anniversary and the fact that Nintendo EPD7 hasn't had a game in 3 years as of 2024 but we'll have to see
God I hope so
Doubt it’ll ever come back
Tomodachi Life has a huge community still, even though the game is a decade old. Nintendo would be crazy to not make a sequel.
I can see more music options in the concert hall, possibly even an alternative such as a theatre with play scripts that can be edited in the same way. Careers for your Miis, too, which affects their individual income, would also be a great feature. I can also see a similarly advanced Mii creator system like what the Miitopia remake had.
You know Tomodachi life like in top 10 best selling 3ds games@@shantaehalf-geniehero4318
I'm still waiting for a new Pushmo game, or a Pushmo collection
I'm fully convinced metroid Prime 4 is going to be a "Switch 2" title. The timing works out, and it would explain why we haven't heard anything about it for a long time.
as for Smash, I think an echo fighters pack would be a great way to add more content without fully committing to brand-new fighters
Hmm. Considering how easy Echo Fighters would be, I'm actually going to go big and assume...10 Echoes for the Pass. And two of these...are cross-franchise echoes.
Jeanne (Echo of Bayonetta)
Alear (Echo of Byleth)
Dixie Kong (Echo of Diddy Kong)
Octoling (Echo of Inkling)
Yosuke Hanamura (Echo of Joker) (Smash Joker, understandably, didn't really do the Wild Card thing, so for a P4 Echo of Joker I had to go with melee weapon and speed as the basis. And, thus, Yosuke is PERFECT. Also: A banana peel thrown up from a trash can instead of a grappling hook as the up B would be HILARIOUS.)
Jin Kazama (Echo of Kazuya)
Amy Rose (Echo of King Dedede)
Laharl (Echo of Little Mac) (The trailer writes itself from that decision. Laharl looks at how many sword guys they have, and, wanting to be more unique, asks if they have an axe fighter (knowing that Disgaea probably DOESN'T rate anything more than Echo level effort), before being told no and then asks if they have a boxer. Laharl is told yes and goes "Perfect!")
Spring Man (Echo of Min Min)
Shadow (Echo of Sonic)
I feel like if it wasn’t a switch 2 game, it would already be complete enough to be shown in a direct
So either it’s been moved to switch 2 or cancelled
Not gonna lie, the "Super Nintendo Switch" sound like an awesome name for a potentiall Switch successor.
Though I think it has the same problem with Wii U, just sounds like an upgraded version of an existing console rather than a replacement
To be honest, I’m not sure if that Bandai Namco 3D action game is actually a remaster like most believe it is. The reason most of the talk came up about a potential remaster was because of the mention of “Remastered Backgrounds”, so people ended up putting puzzle pieces together based on Sakurai hoping for a KI Uprising remaster (which he later clarified wasn’t a hint).
To be clear, I’m not saying it’s absolutely not a remaster of KIU. That could still be the case. Now that we know that the project is Studio 2’s next game (a team that has often assisted EPD 9), it’s entirely possible that the game could be ARMS 2 or something along those lines since Studio 2 already assisted EPD 9 with the first game. Also, the fact that Nintendo is starting to outsource some of their lesser-selling internal franchises (see Pikmin).
Regarding a third season of DLC for Ultimate, I’m not sure comparing it to MK8D is valid. The latter had Tour assets to pull from, a luxury that Smash Ultimate doesn’t have.
The last time smash bros got a DLC pack built off of mostly reused assets from another game to tide fans over with a relatively easy to implement pick while the next smash game was already in active development, she ruined the game lol
Regardless of there being a Switch 2 or not, I can see Nintendo stepping up its game for NSO titles, or for more remasters / remakes to hit Nintendo's console(s). Imagine, say, Terranigma finally getting its time in the sun for Western audiences, or the long awaited and heavily requested Mother 3.
Lol, Mother 3 will never release in the west with modern socio-political standards. Not officially, at least. It's a niche game that would gain a lot of publicity for some of the themes and portrayals in the game. And Nintendo realized that at least a decade ago after they did that robot chicken e3 show and mentioned the game themselves on stage. If it couldn't fly then, when they were riding the Earthbound Wii U and 3DS ports, then it's just not gonna happen, unless it gets on the Japanese NSO for GBA and playing in English on the Japanese NSO gets a translation, but they wouldn't do anything less convoluted than that
Probably one the most Reasonable and Natural 2024 Predictions I've seen, good video!
Remember, remember... January 21 is Super Smash Bros 25th Anniversary.
So..
@@INFERNO95 Just Wait...it can be Anythin
If smash gets a smaller 25th anniversary dlc pack, it'd be nice to focus on nintendo ip this time.
Otherwise... Camelot Software Planning has been very quiet since mid 2021. They already have done their usual mario sports titles, and with the old copyright stuff from 2019-2020 and their website facelift featuring Golden Sun prominently (including the highest resolution artwork we have ever gotten) I do believe and hope that whatever they have been working on for the past 3 years is golden sun related. Three years is an unusual long gap between games for them. Of course, it could be the next Tennis game for the switch 2 as well. But would they need that much time to make it for a new console that is supposed to be a beefed up switch ?
It's not super substantial but another thing I find interesting is the description for Mario Tennis 64 in the NSO app mentions that it from the developers of Golden Sun 👀
And their website was revamped last year and has bunch of golden sun art on it @@fgfhjfhjfbhfghf5771
I heard a rumor a while back that the next system was going to be called the Nintendo Wonder. Not a terrible name. I'd take that over Super Switch.
I would love to see Xenosaga and Xenoblade X FINALLY get modern ports. And with what happened in Future Redeemed, Nintendo's strong partnership with Bandai Namco, and the Switch 2 possibly having better tech, I see them as a possibility. Also am hoping that a new Animal Crossing game is in development. And I can see Prime 4 maybe getting a cross platform release within the console's early months. Also would appreciate it if Square releases ports of the Kingdom Hearts games ( including KH4 ) that run natively on the console.
I'd rather take a reimagination/rewrite/reboot of BOTH Saga & X as a "single" (could be multiple entries) new thing. With Xenoblade 3 feeling as if it was a letter written by Takahashi about letting go of stuff, while remembering them and walk on, I could clearly see him go and try to do Episode 1-3 of his perfect works (Xenosaga AND X, which was already a reboot of X but failed one) and try to do it again with a fresh mind and what he learnt from all of it.
Pokken 2 NEEDS to Happen 🙏
I really only want a 3D DK or Yoshi game, or just a new Yoshi game, we haven't gotten one in a while.
Koei Tecmo has gone on record saying that Mario Warriors is one of their two dream projects they'd love to do (the other one would be Star Wars Warriors), so hopefully they get to fulfill their wish.
my biggest hope for a new nintendo console is that ALL 1st party switch games get a graphics bump. seeing Pikmin 3, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, and Mario Kart 8 (wow, i really just said 3 Wii U games) in 4K would be jaw-dropping.
I said Pikmin 3 over 4 since 3 prioritizes realism more than 4, so it'd benefit more from an upgrade.
I would love ultimate get a next gen content update
I think we’ll get a remake of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky. It’s been 4 years since Rescue Team DX, and that’s usually the gap between PMD games.
You didn’t mention the best game that’s DEFINITELY coming.
“Pokémon, Love at First Pika”. Pokémon’s first try at a dating sim.
Only Pokémon, no humans. You take a quiz at the start of the game like mystery dungeon to decide what Pokémon you are, then try to “catch” a partner for the upcoming “Pokémon Festival of Ages”
Definitely.
I'm betting the Switch 2 will be a 2025 event, but you're the one who did research, thats just my hunch. I love the video, was fun to relax and ease my christmas nerves with this.
Mine would be a Wooly World Port and Fossil Fighters returning!
Buddy the Wii is retro at this point nevermind the N64
Honestly if we are getting another Warriors game with a Nintendo property, it may be a longshot, but I hope for Splatoon! Mainly because a) Turf War elements mixed into Warriors gameplay sounds like a fun concept and b) Splatoon 4 obviously wouldn't be ready in 2024 and maybe even 2025, but with how big the Splatoon IP quickly became it would be insane to do absolutely nothing! Besides, on top of the obvious character picks it'd be kinda fun if they threw in characters like Sheldon, Spyke, or even Judd!
Prediction: Gamecube Luigi's Mansion will be shadow-dropped to coincide with Dark Moon's remaster
20:25 Also bring back some missing music from previous Smash games and bring back the Master Core fight from Smash for 3DS and Wii U.
1. Switch 2 with 1 screen, but dual screen functionality when paired / air-docked with TV. Also has 2 cartridge slots (old & new), so we can have two separate games with us at all times, even with no case. 720p handheld/render, DLSS-upscale/anti-alias pseudo-4k when docked. Redesigned JoyCons.
2. Hella 3DS & WiiU ports which take advantage of DUAL SCREEN functionalities, and redesigned joycon features.
3. Wind Waker HD Deluxe, finally.
4. Mario Odyssey 2
5. Thousand Year Door early, for both Switch & Switch 2
6. WARIO KART : PhartPowered, feat all the stages that were cut from Mario kart 8&9, after being deemed to dark, spooky, gross/crude, or toilet humor for the MarioKart series.
7. CAPCOM does an updated street fighter collection, that is even more comprehensive, with all the extras from previous console versions, and many more graphical filters and gameplay options, like NEW tag team extra modes, world tour modes, enhanced training modes, and dramatic battle modes. CrossPlay.
8. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Ultimate & Ultimate 4k+ : literally all the DLC and packs in a new physical. One being the new 3d-Vnand cart for switch 2, which can take advantage of the DLSS 4k scaling
9. On New Year’s Eve 2024, Nintendo shows a preview of MARIO KART 9, despite just selling a bajillion copies of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Ultimate.
10. Top Down remake of the original Legend of Zelda. Which features a “time travel” mechanic which essentially does more than double the OG MAP, in a “more than LTTP’s map doubling dark and light world”, also in one part of the remake, Zelda herself becomes playable in one of the timeline missions.
The idea of 2 cartridge is excellent, a great way to tell the consumer old games are compatible but different to new one and it was even already done with the DS.
What about a new 3D Donkey Kong? I recently played Donkey Kong 64 for the first time and I’m really enjoying it, and that game is also reaching its 25th anniversary next year.
I would die if the next DK game was releasing in April. But my gut says it will be a launch-ish game or 2025 on Super Switch.
But if I had to make a huge shot in the dark guess- Kirby Triple Deluxe or Planet Robobot Switch ports. Kirby never stays idle too long, and more remakes of some of the RtDL era games feels like it isn’t that crazy a prediction, but still something we don’t have anything substantiating that could still surprise us.
Your CZcams profile image tells you why.
If Good-Feel isn't behind Princess Peach: Showtime as I think they likely are, then I could see them making Kirby's Epic Yarn 2. Extra Epic Yarn is one of the only late-stage 3DS games that hasn't had some kind of Switch follow-up (or some sort of spiritual successor, as we're seeing with Super Mario RPG and TTYD getting remade instead of any Mario and Luigi game).
I believe that we will get to see a next gen nintendo exclusive title from the team behind buddy mission bond coming at launch and I do hope it is a more action-packed title.
I don't think that we're going to get new next gen nintendo titles from grezzo and Platinum until like 2025.
I imagine we either get a new DKC or a remaster/remake of returns.
I also think we could get LM4 as one of the title if the next console released in the fall.
I think Switch 2 will repeat the original Switch's announcement to release strategy. They aren't gonna want to announce more than 6 months beforehand and likely not until Mario Wonder gets its 2nd Black Friday sales in. Unless they port it up to the Switch 2. Only time will tell, but I expect the announcement to be next November at the earliest. 2D Mario games have huge legs, no reason Nintendo would ever want to release one just to kneecap it less than a year after it comes on the market
If Nintendo decided to do a stage pass for ultimate that brings back some, most or all of the missing stages that would be good enough for me!
I just hope that whenever they make a new console I can play armored core 6
I hear you man pretty soon GameCube and Wii are gonna be retro😭
13:27 Xenoblade future redeemed music. Nice 👌
I have a feeling that the Super Switch (that’s my name for it) is when Prime 4 is released. I think why it took so long was because they switch consoles when restarting the development.
If P3R and the Super Switch are released at the same time, then wouldn’t P3R be a launch title for the Super Switch. What about P6? Or it’s that gonna be PS exclusive.
Metroid isn’t a big enough franchise to be the marquee launch title. If anything, Nintendo trying to make it the main event would essentially be a middle finger to Japan considering how much of a nothingburger the franchise is over there.
@@Neoxon619 it is not the launch title but one of the first titles on the next console. I know that it’s not a big enough franchise for the premier launch title. I think like the vid say that we see a new Mario game for the main title. Or Mario kart 9 if possible.
Sorry if I wasn’t clear.
@@kazzfuchsia1073 Don’t sweat it, you’re good.
Genealogy of Holy War is one of my favorite games of all time, hope they bring back the original map design.
It doesn't make sense to release the Oracle games after they released them on Base NSO last year. How about A Link Between Worlds instead?
11:12 My prediction is that it would either be Nintendo Switch 2 or "SNS" which would stand for Super Nintendo Switch but it would be abbreviated both for short and to make it sound less like "Nintendo Switch".
i think we’re all expecting a xenoblade warriors at some point, especially since it’s unique combat is one it’s main turn offs for people
Nice video
Make sure you put all of this on your bingo card
Since the Zelda Oracle games are on NSO (and Nintendo usually keeps games off of NSO if they're getting a remake. Super Mario RPG isn't on NSO, and Link's Awakening wasn't brought over until 3.5 years later), I doubt they're getting remade at this point. Plus, if Grezzo was just doing a Zelda remake(especially with the pre-existing framework from Link's Awakening), it'd be done by now.
I tell ya, Grezzo's making a NEW 2d Zelda, and it's gonna be there for the Switch 2.
Nintendo Super Switch (NSS)
or
Super Nintendo Switch (SNS)?
I thought these ideas were awesome! Super Nintendo Switch sounds accurate to something they'd do. I don't think they'd do something akin to the Wii U's name (considering the PR disaster that was), but I do think they'll keep the "Nintendo Switch" title. Super Nintendo Switch sounds closer to reality than I think some people realize.
Along with some notable things you pointed out, like P3 Reload not being on Switch. It dropping as a Launch/Early Switch 2 title makes total sense, especially considering how the Switch 2 has been rumored to have a big upgrade in specs! (p.s, SUPER excited for the Rauru concept video)
In an era of console upgrades, Super Switch would be a pretty terrible name, as many will think it’s just an upgrade and not a new console. Just keep it simple and call it Switch 2.
The problem with having a port of Smash Bros Ultimate is that we don't know if all the licensing agreements that Nintendo made to have third-party characters in its game are still valid for a future port. Honestly, I don't think so, Smash Ultimate in itself was a miracle to have happened
Yeah. The problem is people think it's as simple as it looks; just a copy and paste job, add new characters, and that's it. They don't want cuts because they don't want to lose their characters, and the thought of moving on from Ultimate just too much.
@@erickmaverick3128 I agree... To tell the truth, I wouldn't expect anything from Smash other than a reboot or at least a significant reduction in the roster
But I don't think the community is ready for that, maybe it never will be
@@mophin Precisely. I've accepted that not everyone, or even my personal favorites, will be returning. Just so as long as there are new faces to join.
And to follow up from yesterday, it wouldn't matter if the characters get nixed in the next Smash game, especially if this new system is backwards compatible.
@@erickmaverick3128 Yes, it would be great to have both options too, although reducing the list also means more space for Nintendo to make a much more complete game in several other aspects.
i just want them to add music in the switch home menu
Im a bit worried about the next concel. If there's no backward compatibility I might just skip it. (Or probably wait until the next Smash)
It is good to know that Smash 6 is likely in early development at the moment.
I’ll probably wait until the next Kirby game
The super switches games better be backwards compatible i don't want to put away my old switch
If it backwards compatible you won't need your old switch anymore.
Let's not forget that Nintendo announced a Professor Layton reboot/remake for the Switch. Since the announcement several months ago, we haven't heard much, which makes me think it will be a cross-gen game when the Switch 2 releases
I would kill for a Pokémon Warriors
I hope that Nintendo reconsiders iNiS's offer for an Ouendan 3 in 2025-2026 (or just give us an Elite Beat Agents 2). I don't know how it would work on a console like the Switch, but Nintendo owes that series a full renaissance.
I think the Switch 2 is coming soon
With the amount of content still planned I do genuinely think the switch 2 won’t come out until late next year or 2025
But most of that content are remakes & spin-offs, with the only 10+ million seller potentially coming out next year on Switch 1 being Pokémon.
We need Mushroom Kingdom Warriors
Dude, where is Mario kart X crossovers in this prediction Mario kart tour part of the series, so yeah it’s X not 9+ Mario kart crossroads
Grezzo did an Apple Arcade game
Gonna go ahead and bet xenoblade warriors is real and is canon. Persona 5 strikers were flat out canon, and age of calamity and three hopes were canon adjacent AU's. So i think properly marrying the warriors spin off to the storyline of a given game is a proven formula for success at this point.
So when would this be set? Why, of course, at the beginning of Aionios. When Melia, Nia, and presumably the casts of xc1 and 2 were still actively opposing moebius. Future Redeemed picked up about a century into the endless now. It was a prequel, but it still left some open questions to be answered. And knowing Monolith Soft, I dont buy for a second them leaving holes in the story without an intention to fill them out. This could show key events in the timeline. Like Melia being captured, Nia going into hiding, the formation of the first city, Noah and Mios prior lives, the discovery of Pneumas core and its subsequent integration into Ouroboros powers, and even do things like more properly explain how Moebius entirely came to be. You could have the entire playable cast of xenoblades 1, 2, and probably even a decent number of the 3 cast too to fill out the roster. Making it one grand epic (and likely very tragic) celebration of the Klaus trilogy and a fitting final farewell to some of these deeply beloved characters.
Heck, they're even giving xenoblade its own amiibo line with the coming Noah and Mio amiibo. This late after xenoblade 3, it really doesn't make that much sense, UNLESS it's meant for the basis of expansion. Imagine they do several characters. Such as a two pack of Melia and Nia as well as another for adult Shulk and Rex. These amiibos could then tie into tne warriors game, perhaps unlocking new cosmetics and satiating xeno fans whove begged for more merch at an afforable price point. Speculating further. Noah and Mios amiibo for example could unlock their team ouroboros outfits, which would be different because their past selves had city attire.
i feel its unlikely to happen, but given the TTYD remake thats coming up, im hoping for super paper mario rises from the ashes, its one of my personal favorites.
hi Delzethin
Golden Sun please!!!
Does it matter if the next Nintendo system is 4K? People harp on Nintendo's specs, and I don't find myself thinking about the specs. Consistent frame rate, good load times, and pleasing visuals are all I need, personally. Nintendo generally makes their games look great, although FE3H and the mainline Pokémon games looked a bit rough in places. I remember 3H having some odd popping up effects while exploring GM... It was kinda funny though like Byleth was the kid from The Sixth Sense.
Facts! Nintendo consoles are never even that powerful to begin with!
Most people don't care about 4k. Should be 1440p/1080p 60 fps on most things with a performance/graphics choice for most games.
@@1mrcow143gamecube was literally more powerful than the ps2 & Xbox, they failed cause they had mini discs with limited space so they gave up on power for innovation gimmicks instead
4K? Eh, who really cares. Powerful? Yeah, I’d say it’s important. If future Switch versions keep the same processing power, even if first party titles manage to make do (and some of them really aren’t lol), it would basically kill third party support. Games are releasing now without last gen compatibility already. And even when modern games do get squeezed onto the switch, there is always a question of - if you want to lab Mortal Kombat combos in the airport on the way to a tournament, would you rather use the Switch version or the Steam Deck?
When Switch launched, it had the portability factor over every other system, but now there’s competition. So it’s gonna be a balancing act of price point, power, and how much you care about Nintendo games
Switch:
- the Legend of Zelda: the Wind Waker + Twilight Princess HD finally get their Switch ports released. But that's not all, we'll also get Metroid Prime 2 + 3 HD and Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 HD as well. Just like the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, Luigi's Mansion 2 HD, and Pikmin 1 + 2 HD, these aren't full remasters like we got with Metroid Prime Remastered, Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe, and Paper Mario: the Thousand Year Door, these are just HD upscales with updated controls for the Switch.
- Pokémon Black & White are added to the remake list developed by ILCA along with Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War and Kirby's Epic Yarn Deluxe.
- Mario Baseball/Sluggers is announced giving the Switch its last Mario Sports game.
- The Switch will continue to get support with remasters and HD upgrades into 2025, Nintendo isn't just going to abandon this thing.
Super Switch:
- We'll get the obvious Nintendo titles, but this is going to be heavy with third party titles, a lot of third party Switch titles become on par with their PlayStation 4/Xbox One counterparts
- Nintendo: a Super Mario 3D game that plays like Bowser's Fury, the long rumored Donkey Kong game, and finally Metroid Prime 4 gets released for the Switch 2's launch window. Mario Kart 10, a Legend of Zelda remake, and Pokémon Legends 2 are announced for 2025.
- Capcom: non-cloud versions of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and Resident Evil 8: Village along with the Resident 2, 3, and 4 remakes. Street Fighter 6, Monster Hunter: World, and Devil May Cry 5 are announced too.
- Square Enix: Final Fantasy XIV and XV, non-cloud versions of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + HD Remix and Kingdom Hearts III, Visions of Mana, Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness, and Star Ocean: the Divine Force.
- Warner Bros.: WB Games apologizes for making PS4 games that had no business on the Switch and announces free updates for Mortal Kombat 1, Hogwarts Legacy, Batman: Arkham Trilogy
- Microsoft: Microsoft announces many next-gen upgrades to Minecraft, Bethesda, and Activision titles already on the Switch along with bringing the Call of Duty series to Nintendo's console.
EA: Madden NFL, EA Sports FC, Apex Legends, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
Sony: MLB the Show
Take Two: NBA 2K, Grand Theft Auto V, Red Dead Redemption 2
CD Projekt Red: the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Epic Games: Fortnite

- Bandai Namco: Dragon Ball, Tekken, Tales of Arise
Nintendo Switch Online:
- Sega Master System added.
- Third party classics such as Mega Man, Castlevania, Battletoads, etc. finally get added to NES and SNES Online.
- Let's be real, aside from some Rare titles and Super Smash Bros., there isn't much left to put on N64 Online.

Metroid prime 4 trailer on the way
I'm calling it, Princess Peach: Showtime is made by Next Level Games, it just has that same feel that Luigi's Mansion 3 has.
Animation style and character designs don't look the same, really. I think Good-Feel is the frontrunner for me, just because the game doesn't quite seem like an in-house project, they haven't worked on anything for Nintendo since Yoshi's Crafted World, and certain elements of the stage play artstyle, character design, sound design, etc. remind me of their previous games
@@PikaPhantom_ It looks like a mixture of Next Level Games and Good-Feel to me, the new villain feels like an attempt to give Peach her own Bowser/King Boo.
I know I might go to hell for saying this but I believe there is such a thing as adding too many characters to a game. What Sakurai did was a massive accomplishment! I'm not knocking the guy down in anyway...but there's already eighty something characters. To me, Ultimate already feels extremely bloated AND to top that off, because so many fan favorite characters were in Ultimate. I'm at the point now where I'm asking....who is there left to add? What characters could they possibly pull from Nintendo's own line up to get me excited? It is a legitimate concern because now, since all the characters I ever wanted in Ultimate is there. There is no one left I can think of that would get me to buy the game day one and I think that is Ultimates biggest flaw. Sure, there are plenty of third party characters you could pull but as far as Nintendo characters? Idk, I don't think Waluigi will get me to buy it day one...if he is even in the game at all considering Sakurai doesn't like him.
I'm just hoping that Nintendo will FINALLY give the GameCube games imports, and the ones I'm wanting to see the most are the two Star Fox games. Star Fox Adventures and Assault as they're my favorites in the Star Fox series and deserve some light compare to the overrated Star Fox 64 from a HD remaster on the 3DS to a reimagining in Zero.
"Super Switch", Nice
You didn't mention Kirby at all. It's been a bit since the latest release, right?
Maybe a spin-off, but I don’t think we’ll get a new mainline entry just yet.
@@Neoxon619 Valid.
@@DjoingDalton He even mentioned Kirby in the video.
@@Neoxon619 Oh? I must've totally blanked on that.
Didn't we have a bit of Kirby blowout this year?
they're probably going to pull a breath of the wild with Metroid Prime 4 put it on the switch because nintendo said so and put in on the next gen to show off the new hardware capabilities I would like to see a dual screen make a come back so that we can play DS and 3DS games so Nintendo doesn't have to try and figure out how to port them to the next gen
Plot twist: For the 6th anniversary they release smash 6
Personally I would love à Nintendo Land 2 for the Nintendo switch 2😊
8:48 personally why I think that "Nintendo 3D action game" is Pokepark not Kid Icarus as they have ZERO relation to that IP while consistently working with Pokemon
Studio 2’s past works have mostly been assistance for EPD 9 projects, with neither them nor Studio S helping with Pokémon spin-offs.
It seemed like a glaring omission that the upcoming Visions of Mana doesn't have a Nintendo release announced yet, being the only major platform without a version. A popular theory, which I subscribe to, is that it's in development for the Switch successor and will be announced once that's revealed. So, it's likely that'll be another early title for the 'Super Switch'!
If they had Brains it would be an actual new F zero game and Metroid prime 4
I believe some new Spirit events have already been announced for Ultimate, starting in January. The themes haven't been shared, just that there will four
Ah yes a fellow Super Switch believer :D
My main concern about the next console is the name, and how they could fall into the same trap like they did with the Wii U.
Other than that: Astral Chain 2, Kid Icarus Uprising, Xenoblade Warriors, and that new 3D Mario, GIMMIE!!!
Also, about the new Mario, I heard Mario is going to visit other Nintendo worlds. It could be like Nintendo's answer to Kingdom Hearts.
Or Sony's Astro's Playroom .
Tbf, the U part didn't really make sense compare to the 3DS.
Yes, Kid Icarus Uprising Remastered, PLEASE. I don't want more Nintendo games lost to the 3DS gulag!
It just idiots on the net trying turn every Mario game into a crossover.
Uhhhh ... Kirby. 👀
As he mentioned, probably not until 2025.
Rumors do not count
I highly doubt that we will get any new Switch games besides the Peach game and if we do get Metroid Prime 4 it will be like Breath of the Wild and be both the first big First Party game of the next console and the last Switch game
Please just some Metroid
TBH, part of me thinks we're gonna get one last S/V expansion before the next games. The top right corner of Paldea has suspiciously been inacessable and unmarked since Day 1, 4 of the 18 Isle of Armor move tutors still aren't TMs, and it feels odd that some legendaries are completely MIA. No way is it gonna be as big as the prior 2 DLC, but there are enough breadcrumbs to raise eyebrows
That large piece of cliff plays the same role as the surrounding cliff faces in BOTW/TOTK, it's just there to show the map is connected to a mainland, that's it, just basic game design and nothing more.
Well we are getting one last expansion on January 11th with the epilogue lol I doubt anything else is coming after that. I’m convinced it’s just like the other reply said, it’s to show it’s connected to a main land and they don’t plan on doing anything with it. I used to think they might have used it for something in the DLC, like a side quest or for legendaries or something, but now I’m sure it’s just nothing.
All I want from Switch 2 is to be able to finally play Xenoblade trilogy in proper Full HD 😑
I think it would be called the Nintendo Switch New like the new 3ds
Mario, Mario Kart, Zelda, Pokemon, Metroid, Pikmin, Donkey Kong, and some new surprises are my prediction.
How much do you beat Star Fox will have nothing for the next year again?
call it Switch 2 please
There's gonna be a new Animal Crossing.... 😏
Probably not until 2025. While EPD 5 did hire a bunch of new developers, I’d imagine that work on the next AC didn’t kick into high gear until after Splatoon 3 dropped.
My main hopes are Mario Wonder DLC, possibly new Fire Emblem (hopefully closer to Three Houses and Fates), but I’d especially hope for dates of the games that have been confirmed are getting remakes/revivals and announcements to franchises I long for new games of (such as Ace Attorney, Darkstalkers, Battletoads, Snow Brothers, Rampage, and Powerstone
25 years ago, Super Smash Bros was introduced to the world. And now we're in 2024.
I want to believe that Nintendo will mention such a milestone but given their history...
ARMS 2 could also happen and be a nice Switch 2 launch game.
Assuming that’s what Studio 2 is working on, I feel like it won’t be ready until 2025 or later.
Im going to bet those "Next Gen Patches" are going to be 5-10$ each, but will come included with NSO Expansion pass. They might also come in waves, wave 1 will be 2017 game, wave 2 2018, and so on.
Look, everything you said about the games is fine and dandy, it’s probably gonna happen. The whole bit about the Switch 2 launching in AUGUST, however, is complete insanity. IF we get the switch 2 in 2024, it’ll be in the final months of the year, considering there’s enough stuff announced to fill the first half of the year already. They wouldn’t want to cannibalize the sales of a successor with new games releasing for the older, backwards-compatible console at the same time.
Pokémon being November & likely just a Switch 1 title makes it less likely that the Switch 2 will launch then. And since the Switch 1 is clearly running out of heavy-hitters (I.E. 10+ million sellers), the Switch 2 is most certainly coming next year.
A release in September makes sense, especially since it’d be six months after a reveal in March. And most of the games coming out next year are either smaller spin-offs, remasters, or remakes. The Switch 2 stepping on the toes of those wouldn’t be the end of the world, & most of them would be far enough away from the Switch 2’s rumored launch to not be a huge issue.
Dks anniversary was skipped....
Let Sakurai rest.
He’s already working on his next project.
Whenever people worry about a “Switch 2” or “Super Nintendo Switch” causing confusion similar to the Wii U, I don’t think y’all are remembering just how BAD the Wii U’s marketing was. As long as they don’t advertise the next console as “here’s a new controller” I think they’ll be fine.
Do people really care this much about speculation from a person on CZcams? Seriously curious
Seeing as so far 3000 people clicked on this video... including you, yes
Unfortunately, Max thinks so
