Bob came across four common questions when researching the product: What type of media do I use; How do I set up the intake and outtake; how do I use the UV filter; and how often do I do maintenance. He answers these questions, showing you how he set up his SunSun canister filter.

    Take a look at Dan Hiteshew videos on the SunSun. He left his UV on 24/7 and it damaged his filter trays. He spoke with SunSun who confirmed that the UV light is not meant to run 24/7. Also take a look at the Pimp my Filter Series by PondGuru - very educational!

    Thanks for a great detailed set up! I consider myself a solid advanced but new to a canister set up. Watched about 50 videos on the media set up for canisters. about 25 half say to start with filters first, yet the other half say the opposite end with the filters. When in the past I used Back end filter systems, the filters pushed the water through the mesh filter first then the carbon. So I feel the mesh filters should be on the bottom of the canister, and the last should be the carbon on the top of this canister. Why so many people feel the opposite?

    up with canister on the floor well below the tank, but I can't get the

    • @elsamp
      @elsamp Před 7 lety +1

      It's actually really good that you can buy this filter for such a small tank. Just make sure the fish can handle the current.

    • @maxefforts
      @maxefforts Před 6 lety

      Nithin Pk you probably figured out by now or year later but yes you can't over filter more is actually better when it comes to filtration and aeration . What's not good for the fish is when they're getting blown around by fans or power heads or a very strong stream from the output of the canister or any type of filtration. the other person's correct is long as the fish are not being blown around they'll be fine and it's deafly beneficial if you have really small fish or babies it would not be a good setting really depends on the fish for Cichlid tank you should be fine. but again you don't need this strength of a filter to have a successful tank. but it can only help and depending on how much you're willing to spend I would say yes. Plus you can use this filter if you get a bigger tank.

    I have sold thousands of UV-C germicidal lamps to customers, and I stand firm when asked about longevity UV-C lamps do not stop sterilizing until they are completely burned out, all that rhetoric about replace after 1 year is to make ppl feel they need to purchase lamps every year keep spending that money.. Even a germ lamp operating at 40% is still sterilizing 100% more than not having lamp on period.. Not powering lamp constantly will save you the cost of replacing media due to deterioration more than the ¢.2 cent per day electricity.. Ask yourself how much has being lazy cost you over the years.. lol.. Google is free and provides free information for the taking
