    Great video!
    But does anyone else have a really, REALLY strange list of recommended videos on the right side of the screen, just for this video?
    I wonder if CZcams classifies Horus Heresy miniatures as "toys", because I see the trailers for The Lion King, and Toy Story 4, and a whole lot of videos for young children.

    The command squad can be used to create a Herald, and the other one is easy to convert into other consuls, sometimes with no need for conversion at all.

    What's your opinion on Destroyers now that they're +1 attacks and fewer points (in the playtest). Rad grenades, maybe a single rad missile launcher (it has suspensors so assault), 10 dudes with a moritat in. Taken with Blood Angels - moriat has scout so use Scout rule to deploy from reserves in Outflank pop out next to something important 18 bolt-pistol shots (plus up to 12 of whatever you gave the Moritat - inferno pistols?) and a rad missile, next turn up to 18 bolt pistol shots (depending on return fire), two shots from the moritat, and a rad missile then a charge with up to 40 attacks at S4 and 5 attacks at whatever S the weapons you gave the moritat... depending on how the rad missiles went you could be be facing troops of -2 to their toughness, that's instant death against most things. Worst case scenario you're still at 2s to wound most things (+1 to wound rolls in combat for BA). As the Moritat also has Counter-attack it doesn't matter if the enemy charge you as you still get all your attacks and rad-grenades.
    Possibly fluff cheesy as BA have the Angel's Tears unit, but I couldn't see anything in the fluff that says expressly that they don't have any normal destroyers, especially as the Angel's Tears are part of the inner circle and normal rank and file destroyers would be something in some companies and a different thing... mileage may vary on fluffiness

    The typhon reminds me of my ork kill blasts. In 7th it dropped a 7"D template. It was pretty much the only decent shooting the orks had...... Then came 8th, ugh, how the mighty has fallen. I feel sorry for the people who brought several for tournament play.

    On a sidenote, destroyer with the latest FAQ are really strong with almost all mele legiones and RG.
    My poor malcador got so nerfed... Don't get why they removed the super heavy rule... With the super heavy rules they were very resilient and lasted quite long with demolisher + batllecanon it was quite good to get really close with no penalty

      Xav Met How do you counter the magnitude of s7/8/9 ap3 (minimum) weapons using Stone Gauntlet? Stone Gauntlet never seemed that useful for me.
      It’s more of a defensive army, which is pointless to me if the enemy isn’t mêlée centric. Shooty armies will wipe me off the board.

  • @socialanimalmedia

    You mention that Proteus land speeders aren't that great - but I feel like they could be good in a Night Lords terror assault list (or any other Rite with restrictions on Heavy Support) with a Graviton/Melta Combo. They die fast but for 40 points plus the cost of weapons, they might be the cheapest FAST anti-armor out there. In points obviously. The real prohibitive cost is the $98 you have to drop for a freaking land speeder. How damn that is expensive. Forge World might as well start advertising as if they are a mall jeweler: "Make two months salary last forever" lol.

    • @andrewsharratt2399
      @andrewsharratt2399 Před 3 lety +1

      I've used this grav/melta combo in my Raven Guard. I already have good reserve manipulation and deep strike control so a unit of 3 can be placed pretty much anywhere I want without fear of scatter. It's really handy to pretty much guarantee the Death of a standard astartes vehicle, or they can pile in on bigger vehicle targets with the rest of my force. They might die the next turn but with target saturation of a big turn two drop you can force some tough choices. At their best Ive had them slink around the backfield wrecking enemy artillery parks. At worst they might plink a HP or two off a crucial Spartan. Don't forget that a unit of 3 can really body block a Spartan death star, forcing them to go around or disembark early. Even if they die after doing that they could have paid for themselves.
      I did cheap out and use plastic speeders with heresy crew and guns.

  • @Chivas6
    @Chivas6 Před 5 lety +2

    I have an Emperor's Children force that I've been buiding and painting for some time and was gutted to see that Forge World stopped selling the transfer sheets for Emperor's Childen. Is it not the case that Forge World are just going through the motions with the Horus Heresy now and just looking to wrap it up? It seems worrying that one might start a particular legion then suddenly Forge World just stop selling something as important as the transfer sheets for a given legion. Who is going to start building Emperor's Children now knowing that they can't finish off any of their units with insignia?

  • @cypher545
    @cypher545 Před 5 lety

    I will politely disagree with your assessment of the Thunderhawk and Stormbird. All you commented on was the awkwardness of the model and not the actual effectiveness of them.

    • @alecideas
      @alecideas Před 5 lety +2

      They're centerpiece model, not something a player is going to structure armies around.

    • @TheOuterCircle
      @TheOuterCircle  Před 5 lety +4

      The effectiveness? You need to play 4000 point games, give or take, in order to use them. That means a huge investment, and whilst they are effective units, if someone brings along a pair of lightnings they can probably tear the ass out of 1/4 of your army by blowing up that Thunder/Storm in a single turn, which will then crash down into the units below, and kill any on board.
      Totally impractical.
