Davina participated in the Dutch Idols and went out in the early stages a long time ago. Last year she was in the 'Best Singers' show of our country where she was rediscovered by singing the song 'Duurt Te Lang' (In English; Takes To Long) That song was very very popular in The Netherlands and after that she put videos online like the songs from Pink.
Pink actually got to react to this herself on a Glamour video and praised Davina; saying she sings it better than she ever will and she needed to be signed, like right now.
I'm a secondary school English teacher in the Netherlands. Our schooling-system is different: ages 4-12 is elementary school, after that you get 4, 5 or 6 years of secondary school (depending on your level, we don't have a distinction between middle/highschool).
All Dutch kids study English in school. Most start in elementary school, everyone has English in secondary school: Dutch and English are mandatory subjects on the final exams. Most schools also teach 2/3 years of French and German, after that they become optional subjects. A minority of secondary schools offer other languages such as Frisian (2nd language in the Netherlands), Spanish, Turkish, Arabic, Chinese and more commonly Latin and classical Greek, but they are not mandatory subjects.

Great reaction guys! When I saw that video for the first time I was literally shocked, and I had tears in my eyes. She's got her own songs as well by now. Yeah and the Dutch do not only speak English, most of them even take pride in it being able to and it is the no1 non native English speaking country in the world. So if you ever visit, be not worried about any language barrier.

I love how the young dude on the right is always looking at the young dude on the left for confirmation of awesomeness... The young dude on the left barely ever gives him the confirmation he's looking for. He feels its too much, but doesnt know how to explain it to the slightly more social young dude on the right. They have learned to live with it however, and the young dude on the right doesnt seem to feel too ignored, in the end they find eachother in the words to describe what they saw, and felt. To some extent..

Davina did Beste zangers in 2018! She was u know for the big public here and made in the show her first number 1 that stood on that place for weeks:Duurt te lang from beste zangers!.. The best cover she did in my opinion was Take me to church by Hozier. In de beste zangers she did in 2018 a Dutch song "Het duurt te lang" this was for a long time number one in our charts.

Oh... I have an experience to you guys. A band (if that is even a correct term in this case) called Heilung just released a new video called Norupo. It's a band like no other. Guy's about the English, everyone in The Netherlands speaks it cause whe get it taught from kindergarten… My wife is a teatcher for group 1 and 2 (4 to 5 years old) and she teaches in English for one hour a day. So she not only teaches them english but the whole hour she just speaks English... If you wold get on a plane and come to The Netherlands, you would not have any problem getting anywhere or anything here, because allmost everyone in The Netherlands speaks English. Just FYI.... ;-) :-) :-D
