That "flap" on the front is very useful for scraping up to a wall or another obstacle. You pick it up and hang it down almost vertical and you can back blade with it, then turn around and push it with the big part. Another awesome thing about those tire scrapers is that they last forever. We scraped three times a day on our 200+ head dairy, and the thing was seriously old. Plus, when it was worn to the point of not functioning any more, we put a new tire on ourselves, and just kept it going. Quartering the tire was tough and it was not a smooth cut at all, but we just let the grooved concrete even it out naturally. I think there are old mixer wagons that use tires big enough to fit them, so it was a free fix, other than the time.

I think you’ll love that scraper. We had one for scraping our heifer alley’s and the ability you have to press it into the concrete, along with the ability to pull backwards, and get right in against the edge of the bed will pay dividends in getting everything cleaner compared to your other scraper.

Looks like a great idea for a scraper, and maybe a way to use your old tractor tires if you can work with those things easy enough. They are big and gangly. You could cut a wedge in the two sides rather than have the blunt end, but not sure if that would help.

In group 1, the cow you patted as you were getting close to the parlor, is she a three quartered cow or just real lite in the rear right quarter ad viewed from behind?
